    Nice job folks, the more I look at these Gazelles the more I like them... and I look at alot of ebikes. The quality, fit and finish appear to be top notch and from a company that's been making bikes since 1892. Keep emphasizing to your local customers that they're getting a high level of engineering and not a knock-off product, which are everywhere these days.

      Right on! We totally agree. We've been to their factory and can attest to not only their sophistication in production, but also to the keen attention to detail that the whole design and engineering team brings to each model that they develop.

    I have a 380 UK spec which has the better suspension fork but no seat suspension but the higher level Bosch display with the 20 mph motor due to EU laws. Have ridden over 1700 miles on rural roads since April this year totally fault free and no maintenance required.

      I have this too but UK spec is restricted to 250w continuous power and 15.5mph not 20mph like in USA, to be legal. I have done 4000 miles and coming up to my 1st anniversary.

    This review has helped me settle on the 380+
    I have a Tour Populair which is great for leisurely cruises around town, I'm looking for a commuter to replace my car. The 380+ looks to be it.

    3:51 "That engine helps support..." would be an accurate statement towards a gas-powered unit. Motor refers to electrical power, in this case.

    I upgraded from a rad runner plus to a Gazelle Ultimate 380+ and while it’s a much better bike there are some trade offs. I absolutely hate the mid step frame, when I put a basket and back back on the back it becomes hard to mount and dismount (I’m 5’9” on a medium frame), deeply miss the rads open low step frame. Second is that Enviolo is a huge compromise, it’s a janky hub you don’t have access to the full gear range at a stop, and you have to pretty much stop pedaling to change gears. Being stepless is a total gimmick as you’re gonna be rotating a quarter turn on so anyway. Lastly, I hate that rack, it’s non standard and needs adaptors for even gazelles first party accessories that use the MIK system.
    It’s a great bike, but people don’t talk about the very real issues with it.

      Thank you for adding your experience. Very helpful. Totally hear you on a number of your points that people will want to consider.
      One thing I would recommend is having your Enviolo transmission checked out by your shop as it sounds like there may be some tuning to be done to improve performance.

    Great video guy's & I already purchased the gazelle c380 Plus and I should be getting it delivered in a few weeks and I wanted to ask your guys's opinion on the range of the bike being that it has a 500 watt hour battery can you get pretty good distance on this particular e-bike? And also is the manual enviolo gear shift system just as good as the enviolo automatic gear shift system? And looking forward to hearing your reply and keep on making great videos and thank you

    • @thenewwheel
      @thenewwheel  3 года назад

      I think you will find that you get great range. If you need extra range, the way to go is the dual battery setup. We also like the manual shifter on the bike; it's nice and straight forward!

      @@thenewwheel awesome and thank you for the input I really appreciate it and yeah I would love to buy the dual battery version but I kind of like the look of the lower step frame and also I can't afford the cost of the dual battery and thank you for the input on the enviolo manual shifting and keep up the great work I love your guys videos and I think it's great that you guys do these videos because it helps out a lot of people when they want to make a decision on buying a e-bike especially for guys like me that live in Florida and don't have the chance to test ride a lot of bikes because we don't have a lot of great e-bike stores like you guys do out west and these videos give us great input and once again thank you for these videos and the awesome work. 🙂

    Thank You for this informative video comparing the + with the non +. I purchased my C380 last month and and I love it.... but.... I sometimes worry that I should be on the 380+ instead. I'm 72 years old, never commute, leisure riding. I have ridden my new 380 without battery assist and yes, there's some drag but nothing like other ebikes. Maybe the heavier lubricant inside the Enviolo Hub will smooth out after 500 miles?

    • @thenewwheel
      @thenewwheel  Год назад

      It may be that your shifter cables need rerouting to improve smoothness and performance.

    • @thenewwheel

      Almost definitely, but it may take a bit of time... I would expect Gazelle's with the Smart system launch at the end of next year or early 2023

    I just got the C380+ and it takes a lot of pedal speed. It seems like it could use a bit gearing.

    Would you prefere this one or the R&M Nevo?

    • @thenewwheel
      @thenewwheel  3 года назад

      That’s a difficult question indeed! An R&M is more feature rich but also is going to be more premium. I would consider how often you will ride (and don’t forget that you will ride a lot more than expected on an awesome ebike!) and choose based on that. If you are going to ride your bike multiple times per week you may want to think about spending more for an R&M.

      @thenewwheel  3 года назад

      @@govinda671 Well, if you are going up and down hills quite a bit, I might recommend the C380 as it shifts under load easily without having to pause. The C8 is very nice for moderate hills, but it does require that you pause pedaling when shifting up hills so that takes a bit to get used to. I would test ride both and decide!

  • @Boris_Chang
    @Boris_Chang Год назад

    Can it handle gravel and dirt roads (not mountain bike screaming through trees and over rocks and roots!!!)?
    Also, can the C380+ be setup as a class one (so if I move out of state and can go with class three later)?

    • @thenewwheel
      @thenewwheel  Год назад

      It can definitely handle dirt roads. As far as changing the classification, that is not possible as this is built into the Bosch drive unit.

    • @Boris_Chang
      @Boris_Chang Год назад

      @@thenewwheel Then those bikes which have a menu option to switch from default class 1 to class 2 are only with other motors? A speed governor I thought was built into the electronics unit of some bikes. I’m still learning. 😎
