- With my self-constructed "Piano Lifter" it is very easy to lift a very heavy concert grand piano with only one person!
It is much cheaper than the commercial lifter and you can assemble it very fast. You just need a hand winch for little money and some other small and cheap things.
Easy to move / transport a piano with only one person.

Hm... There's something I don't understand. The bottom piece of wood with the two eyelets that fits under the piano edge - what prevents that just slipping out toward you when you begin winching? I can understand with the upright piano at 13:40, because you have the strap wrapped around the toe blocks. But with the grands it looks like the moment you begin winching, that back end of that piece of wood would drop making the piece slip out. I wish you'd included a plan too LOL. (I saw a similar device on youtube, then came here hoping to work out some dimensions.)

Thank you for sharing. It's really helpful for me. By the way, it seems that you have used a cordless impact driver instead of a corless drill/driver. Does rotational impact force of a cordless impact driver harm the socket of the winch?
It is a Festool PDC in normal drill mode. I tried also other cheaper drill drivers like Makita or Bosch without problems

Super gemacht, Daumen hoch! Aber welche Winde hast du genutzt? Die Winde die du verlinkt hast ist ungeeignet dafür. Für´s ablassen ist die Sicherung zu schwach und es wird gefährlich. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn du deine Winde nennen könntest, die scheint ja zu funktionieren.
Die verlinkte Winde sollte Lasten von über 1000 kg heben und senken können. So eine hohe Belastung hat man bei dieser Anwendung aber nicht. Ich habe noch zusätzlich das Stahlseil auf das benötigte Minimum gekürzt. Dann wird das benötigte Drehmoment stark reduziert. Meine Winde hatte ich vor vielen Jahren einmal in einem Baumarkt gekauft. Leider kann ich hier keinen Hersteller nennen. Im Prinzip sind die aber alle ähnlich aufgebaut. Meine hatte ein 10 Meter langes Stahlseil, also viel zu lang. Dieses habe ich gekürzt auf weniger als 2 Meter. Die Handkurbel habe ich abgeflext und eine Steck-Nuss anschweißen lassen. Viel Erfolg!
