I've been wanting an in-depth look at the 808 VS 1010, and you delivered. I've had these shoes on my radar, and would love to see more shoe comparison videos for those unanswered questions. Thank you fellow Humanoid!!
haha I wish I did a better job. I did learn a new editing trick while making this video... but holy moly I think I missed all the details! haha glad it helped despite my short comings.
Holding both shoes in hand, the 808s feel heavier and stiffer than the 1010s. The overall construction of the 1010 seemed to lend itself to a more forgiving, somewhat less narrow fit. The 1010s are definitely more sleek and modern while still having an internal fit similar to but compared from the Busenitz. Went with the 1010s to skate in at the start of the year. I might get some 808s to rock, but they feel less skate friendly and more like a thick, stick, and puffy ‘90s shoe.
I agree with you, the 808 looks better to me too. But the 1010 for me, is a bit roomier. I believe the 1010 was the first shoe I purchased from Bluetile. And I remember the primitive ones...they had a bit of yellow in them if I recall. I like these green ones better. NB is really killing it right now. Sidebar, I am dying to know what kind of shoe Andrew Reynolds is going to make with NB. Should be a good one. Anyhooters, I hope the rest of the week is going alright. All the best!! Gabby from DC
Currently own 4 pairs of 808’s and 4 pairs of the 1010’s and I don’t even skate. Two of my favorite shoe models rn! Also I don’t see this anywhere but I have high foot arches that overpronate so I have to wear special insoles BUT I don’t at all when I wear these shoes. They are so secure and have great arch support! Much love from Chicago ❤
@@LadiesMan0217_ Easily the 1010’s, way lighter, more flexible. They really hug your feet. The 808’s are damn tanks in comparison haha not really suitable for long walks, treks tbh
The 808 is the best shoe on the market. Its better than an af2 with a game changer. I would say the fast break is the second best shoe that I know of right now. If you're old and you want to keep doing kickflips and stuff. The 808 is definitely the shoe at this point in time. But I'd say that you gotta not need much board feel. It feels like a Timb but with a proper cut sole shape and no heel. The size 9 808's toe box is exactly the same shape as and 8.25 concave profile. (Habitat hybrid Gall ) Flicks every try. I thought nothing about it till I noticed the absence when i moved up to 9". (Metal x KTCM x ben) Same 14" WB same brand of truck. Just 5.6 vs 6.1s and same exact wheels. I fixed it tho. 9" bloard meant point your toe more. Blam! Kickflip is back. My ankles good. Now i just gotta cop a few more pairs for the ice chest. Im on spits again f4 97a is the best wheels formula in history. We live in the best product era today. Its never been this good.
I agree. chasing old product and that nostalgia feel is misguided. you can get that nostalgia vibe today using newer product with better results. evolve with skateboarding rather than getting stuck in an era you have to chase down product for
I’ve skated at least 2 pairs of the 1010s and I loved them.. I bought them when they first dropped because I believed in Tiago & what he can do on a skateboard.. for me it’s like a super tech janoski..what makes janoski’s special for me is the long toe box which is great for flick’ && new balance really specializes in technology so the higher the number of the shoe the more tech goes into the shoes..right now they have the 808s on sale for like $49.99 was thinking about getting a pair..I’m not really a fan of big puffy shoes I have a skinny long arched foot so the 1010s are more of my speed.. I might just get em just to have.. I noticed a lot of the new balance shoes run small && depending on the materials I go up a half size on the 1010s but I’ve noticed a lot of ppl say you should with the 808s..&& yes I just bought those sick ass primitive 1010s that teal green is just so sick I want another pair
I just got back from trying both of them on at my local. First the 1010 and 808 are on the heavy side and the 808 is heavier than the 1010. They both fit about the same size wise, but the 808 def fits a little more snug. I would say that the 808 is also stiffer than the 1010 and the heel cup felt different. I would buy the 1010. It felt more comfy and true to size, but who knows...Maybe the 808 breaks in to be cozy.
I haven’t ever held a pair and thought “damn these are heavy” but the 808 would likely be heavier than a dunk if you weighed it. The 1010 seems on par with any other cupsole.
808 destroyed my metatarsal because of how narrow and stiff it is. 1010 is definitely softer in the front, get that one if you have wider feet and prefer to go with your size.
I dont really feel the narrowness of the 808 you're talking about but I do agree that the 1010 fits softer in the toe. I go up a half size in either one of them. that 808 though.... boooooy that crunched my toes up. felt so good to wear around for a little bit but once I got to the spot and started skating it all changed. still loved the shoe just need that half size up.
I go up a half size in both. The 808 runs smaller than the 1010 though. I can get my true size in the 1010 but it’s pretty snug. The last pair of 1010s I got I went up a half size and I love them even more. So typically I’m an 11.5 but in both Tiago I wear a 12
Do the 1010 have turn in switch in the toe or do most nb shoes? Can't remember if i heard you say that about them or not if it was different shoes were talking about
the 808 s are amazing they knocked it out of the park with this shoe I just wish they would do better colorways most of all of them are ugly except the suede brown and black and white , I can agree too the 1010s are just visibly ugly to me the lettering placement the overall look just isnt for me , the 808 are much better in the visual aspect.
Sizing: The 1010s don't fit true to size! I'm US 9.5 in all the other NB/Nikes and these are to long for me, so my heels slip out. Have to size down 0.5 at least. Even the insoles are longer than in other shoes. Outside length is also longer compared to 808, 440, 272, Blazers
Crazy because I have to go up half size and 1010s. Except for the Rone ones. I think most people agree they go up a half size in 1010. That said everybody’s feet are different and they fit in shoes differently shape and construction often times means more the than measurable length.
Jumping down a 7 stair straight to the heels in the 808s, they are the greatest
Two of my favourite shoes right now! Personally I prefer the 808s because they have a bit more puff to them.
yeah they def have more of that 90s vibe without being comical.

Yeah I can feel that. The 808 def skates better than like a super bulky 90s shoe but not as good as a 1010x

Don’t hold your breath on the Reynolds shoe for 2024… lookin like… 2025? But there will be some sick Reynolds projects leading up to it
That 808 colorway is sick!!!
It’s so good! Both of these are great

Oh damn. That’s good to know. I haven’t notice the arch feeling any more abrupt than any other
Which are more comfortable out of the two for everyday use?(I don’t skate anymore either)

That 808 just has a vibe that I love
Given all the tech and bulk of both these models, are they heavy? Say, compared to a dunk?
I haven’t ever held a pair and thought “damn these are heavy” but the 808 would likely be heavier than a dunk if you weighed it. The 1010 seems on par with any other cupsole.
I like the way the 808s look more but their so incredibly heavy to skate for me personally 🤷🏻♀️
I dont find them that much heavier. I guess I should weigh them haha

So in your opinion what's is better to skating i talk in durability?
Durability I think they’re both super durable. The 808 has more bulk and is stiffer so maybe it would hold up longer
I prefer the 808’s personally!
🙌🙌
So if am size 8us in most shoes, i need to get an 8.5 for the 808. How about for the 1010
I go up a half size in both. The 808 runs smaller than the 1010 though. I can get my true size in the 1010 but it’s pretty snug. The last pair of 1010s I got I went up a half size and I love them even more. So typically I’m an 11.5 but in both Tiago I wear a 12
Anyone know where to get replacement laces for the 808’s?
dang... laces are such a hard thing to find and I feel like they shouldn't be that hard to find.
Both are sick.
💙💙
why did I think that was a whole tattoo sleeve? also 7:25 you kept it together *youre doing great!*
I fell apart
I like them both
same.

The 1010 definitely runs bigger than the 808. The 808 crushed my feet. I did love that shoe, but it was a tight fit
I have both.. but the 1010s are better to skate.
Can’t hate on Tiagos
They’re too good
Whats better overall 1010 or 808?
The 1010 is def the favorite overall but I kinda like the 808 better.
Def size up through
@@DavidBluetile I can wear the 1010s with slim tapered jeans can the same be said about 808s? Or do I have to wear baggy jeans with 808s?
