- Kia Orana! Get your sunnies and jandals ready coz it's time for a dose of relaxation and paradise in Rarotonga!
On this first of a three-part series let us show you what you need to do to get going once you arrive in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Raro is a short 4 hour flight from Auckland, New Zealand. In this episode we show you how much things cost, where to stay and then take you along on a progressive meal where we eat with local Cook Island families at their homes.
First things first we stop off and get our sims from Bluesky. Pretty much the only local phone operator to get your mobile data or wifi from. You can check out their full rates on:
www.bluesky.co.ck/ just be warned that data isn't very cheap and the connection isn't the best on Raro but it works mostly fine enough.
Once you've ticked off mobile connectivity it's time to sort out transport. Scooters are the most popular option for getting around in Rarotonga but due to the fact we had 5 people and the chance of rain for most our trip was very high, we decided to hire a 7 seater vehicle instead.
We found Island Car and Bike Hire to have the cheapest rentals however the trade off is the vehicles aren't the newest which suited us just fine.
www.islandcarhire.co.ck/
Supplies! Before we head over to our resort we need to get stocked up. Rarotonga only has two big grocery stores on the island. We headed to the one closest to our resort called Wigmore's Superstore which is on the Muri beach side.
Together with our group of friends we stayed at the Pacific Resort. Located right on Muri beach we enjoyed many piña coladas and bowls of ika mata (a raw fish dish) from this great and convenient accommodation.
www.pacificresort.com/
We've saved the best for last though. This was one of our favourite activities during our stay. Dining with some Rarotongan locals and their families on a progressive meal. This involved getting picked up at our resort, going in a shuffle with a bunch of strangers then getting taken to three different Rarotonga family homes for delicious home cooked Cook Island food. The first home serves the entrée, second home the mains and the last home, dessert. Amazing way to experience Rarotonga's culture and food. We were able to meet so many great people and really familiarise ourselves with Cook Island food. You can check out the experience yourselves at Cook Island Tours.

We'd like to give a big shout out to our awesome friends Is That Us Fam for our gifts that we wore during the progressive meal with Cook Island Tours! You can watch their video where they surprised us with those gifts in their video here:

Hi Peter today I went to Rotorua and went to the skyline there
Hey bro! That sounds like an awesome way to spend your long weekend. Is your grandparents there with you too? Hope you all are having a great time we were blessed with some good weather too 😁👍 we just got back this evening after an amazing time with our friends in bay of islands. Vlog coming soon.
No they already went back
Btw sorry I jumped to conclusion and said bro you may be a girl hahaha sorry! Did you enjoy skyline? Hope you got a chance to do the luge. Btw we have joined your channel too hope you get to 100 😁👍
Yep it was really fun and yeah I’m a girl
Yen pronounced those Cook Island words like a local now that’s awesome 👏🏾 hope y’all having a blast 💙 so jealous
Kia orana realG! Meitaki ma'ata! 😊 It's a lovely language and was glad I could pick up a few words 😊 We had a great time in Rarotonga thanks, back in Auckland now but so we've got 2 more videos to share for our Raro series, hope you'll enjoy them too! 😁👍 - Yen
Totally agree yen was on point with pronunciation of words. Vowels are always important to pronounce and she got them always. It shows a huge appreciation. Nga mihi
Thank you for the compliment I was trying to pick up as much as I could from our cook island friends and from the locals to make my pronunciation as good as possible 😊❤ appreciate you noticing - Yen
Peter’s voice is like a tv show host.. and Hi Yen! I’ve never been to rarotonga..very informative video. Love your outfit very summer. The food looks amazing!
The outfit was gifted to us from our cook island friends is that us fam 😁👍 you might remember them from the ice cream challenge video Haha. Glad the video was informative for you now you can plan your trip too liz 😂
wow that is amazing, tour at people's home? that is so amazing!
I know right! It's genius. Thank you cook island tours for putting together such an amazing experience. I've been trying to find similar things in other countries too but it's so hard to find these kinda tours 🤔
Staying on the beach is the best, especially on that lagoon. Looks stunning!
The lagoon is just insanely beautiful. I was just telling the story of how one afternoon we all just sat next to the beach drinking pina coladas from late afternoon into the evening followed by a night swim. That was the ultimate in relaxation hahaha 😁❤
Absolutely beautiful video ! So stoked you guys had a blast in our beautiful island Rarotonga x Yen you better come through with that pronunciation #perfection 🔥Can't wait to see the rest of your epic series x Keep up the litness fam !
Meitaki fam!! I learnt from the best (you guys) 😁 it's that taro with a 'd' ay haha ☺️👌 Have an awesome day ♥️😊 - Yen
Sausage 🤤 bbq time? Haha
Place looks like a paradise for a quick getaway - so beautiful.
Man that bus is so lively 😀 fun - yen went in w the 🎤 karaoke session there haha
The food feels so tropical 😀, looks like it was a worth while the price for the tour! 😆 they sure do love their ukelele 🎸 👍 such nice and vibrant community feel too.
The people in rarotonga were so awesome always made us feel so welcome at each activity. I especially like that they encourage us to go for seconds and thirds hahaha 😂👍 the fruits were amazing we were feasting on papaya every morning. Yen has a very nice singing voice 😁❤
What an amazing idea for a food tour. Three different home-cooked meals?? Can’t go wrong there.
The food tour was amazing you guys should totally consider setting something like this up in New York I think people would really enjoy a borough's experience at local homes. I know we'd definitely sign up for that 🤔😁👍
This place looks fun 😊 Kind of reminds me of Hawaii... except more tropical. That island transformation at 5:58 was super cute 🙈 Great video as per usual guys!
my fav part too . hehehehehe
Hahaha thanks guys ❤❤❤ haven't been to Hawaii but it's on our bucket list. Rarotonga brings you to a really relaxed zen state its so peaceful and beautiful 2 more in the series 😊✌
@@PeterandYen Aww! Can't wait for the rest of this series. P.S. Yen cheesing at 8:21 is everything... like "YAS... FooOooooood" hehe~
Hehehe yeah she is pretty cute in that footage 😊❤
Lolol thanks Lena and Nicholas!! Hahah yeah I was very chuffed with my plate 😁♥️ - Yen
You know.... I live here and I didn't even know that the banana-coconut-salad-thing was a thing lmao... But yeah! Great video, I'm stoked that you guys liked it here!
Thanks Ash! We had no idea either but it tasted great and made for an awesome entree. We're figuring out when we can come back to cook islands, had an awesome time 😁👍
I love you alls videos😁. That is so awesome! That is such a great tour! You two look freat
Thanks caroline! These raro videos were super fun to put together. 6 nights of good times and the progressive dinner was my favorite experience of it all. Thanks for the compliments on our outfits too 😊❤
I love how you guys just get in there and embrace different cultures and enthusiastic about trying new things
Thanks Kat 😁💕 we really enjoy it too 👌☺
What an experience! Glad you survived the expensive wines...
Luckily we were on a fish and pina colada diet only 😂 it was an amazing trip and even more amazing experiences to come over the next two weeks 😁👋
@@PeterandYen Well, that's reasonable then! Don't want to violate the diet lol!
Looking forward to seeing the experiences!
That food looks fantastic! So colorful! What a great way to show the culture by doing the tour with the familes!
This was my absolutely favorite thing to do in rarotonga and I think every country should have things like this. They make for amazing experiences and you learn so much about the culture this way. You won't see yen's favorite experience till episode 3 of this series 😁👍
Holiday Vibes, yes sole! SO lucky as you two. We love how confident you guys are and how well edited each episode is getting. Miss those island grab for sure! Can't wait for the next video guys...
Thank you fams ❤ this was our first time visiting a Pacific island but just the first of many to come. Had an amazing time in the cook islands and miss the food especially 😁 we're finally getting a lil more natural on camera but there is always room for improvement 😊✌
love the intro drone shots!
that looks like a wonderful paradise!! cant wait to see what you have for us on this video
Paradise is the perfect word to describe this lil island. It's kept so amazingly clean too the locals really look after it 😊🌿
Peter and Yen that’s awesome
awesome vlogs guys! and again congrats for 4k!!
Thank you ❤ it's been great having you guys along the ride with us 😁✌
Omg 5:58 Peter and Yen what can I say? Your special effects make me queef! 😂 I'm very impressed with your execution on this vlog it's like quintessential Peter and Yen as we know them back home but in a different island. I love that you guys are the type that will never change which is part of your appeal that makes us viewers attracted to you, very relatable, down to earth and just a joy to watch!
Hahaha happy Easter st waters! 👋 Glad you enjoyed the special effects 😂👍 I don't think we know how to change even if we wanted to I love the idea of being able to tell a story through video. If anything I just hope that are are able to show more of our personality through the vlogs. It's already gotten a lot better but there is always room for improvement 😊 we'll have 2 more raro videos for ya 😁✌
Very lovely host and Raro is so peaceful looking. Reminded me of my childhood time in mysia where things were so simple then....love it..
Harlo mum we just got home 😁 yes things are very simple in rarotonga that is the perfect way to describe it. We really enjoyed that about it the most 😊🌿❤
Yayyyy!! You visited my homeland! Hoped you guys really enjoyed it & especially the FOOD 😍 Real nice relaxing island to be in!!
Your homeland is beautiful. Enjoyed the food, people and beaches so much. Missed it as soon as we left. Entered a new level of peacefulness while we were there 😊❤
Thank you for posting this... I took my mum to Raro June last year and one of the activities we did was to go to these three houses to share meals with them.. my mum just passed away two weeks ago. I went to search Rarotonga and this clip came up first. Beautiful memories, thank you again :)
Hello that's so sad to hear that your mum passed away two weeks ago. Our condolences go out to you and your family. We're happy that you're able to watch this video and bring back some happy memories of experiences that you've shared with her though. 😊❤ take care ✌
Awesome videos guys....it made me home sick. You're b-roll is really GOOD!!! Can't wait for the next one....💖👍😎💖
Thank you so much! we had an amazing time in rarotonga. As soon as we arrived in Auckland I wanted to go back to raro 😍❤ your home country is just beautiful 😊
Another awesome vid guys!! 2nd home you went to is my bestmates aunty Kalo. Lovely lady & makes the best food. All that delicious island food mmm! Hope you had a wonderful time.
O my gosh does this mean you can stop off at aunty Kalos place for dinner from time to time??? Hahaha cause that would be amazing! Love Pacific island food yen and I both have our own favorites. We were there for 6 nights and I ended up having 8 ika Mata 😂 it was such an relaxing trip we want to go Samoa next.
Love your video. So good to see home again. You have done a great job.. OMG I cant even watch the food part, yummmmmm
😂 yeah! Would love to eat some ika mata right about now. Thanks for watching
That ika mata looks amazing, reminds us a lot of kinilaw, a Filipino style ceviche with coconut milk.
Oooo kinilaw writing that down. Cause ika Mata is my favorite polynesian food. It's the best 6 nights and I had ika Mata 8 times hahaha. The flavors the freshness everything is just beautiful 😁❤🐟
Very similar to Samoan oka as well
It was on! once my partner and I discovered 'Bite Time', ha. Damn, wish I knew about the local dinner tours, I was craving local food my whole stay!
Aww man Bite Time was soo good ay! Haha looks like you'll need to book another trip to go back and get the local home cooked food Pat 😁👍
You should’ve kept rocking that on your head, Peter! 😂
😂 yen gives new meaning to clawing my eyes out 😂😂😂
Beautiful beach, friends locals, and great places to eat
The beach is so spectacular because it is a lagoon first time yen and I have seen one. The people are so warm and wonderful and the food was amazing! Especially the 🐟😁👍
Beautiful accommodations! Love that effect of when you guys change clothes. So cool you guys got to eat with the locals. Looks delicious. We eat with a lot of taro and root veggies too. That pavlova with passion fruit! Yum!!
Thanks guys! I like effects but it takes me a while to figure out how to make em hahaha. Eating with the locals is the best way to fast track yourself in understanding a culture. Such a lovely experience and the food was delicious to boot ❤
What a nice getaway. Looks like you guys had an awesome time. Interesting food too. That dishes with banana were pretty different.
Local cook island food was the perfect way to kick off our first day in rarotonga. We had a blast and you're right island food is like nothing else in the world very unique flavors 🤤
You guys are getting so pro with these vids! Loved it. This place gave me some serious Hawaii vibes!
Thanks guys appreciate the feedback we always wanna keep pushing the videos more and make them better 😁👍 quite a lot of people have said raro has Hawaii vibes. We needa go Hawaii for sure one day!
Love you guys! I really enjoyed your feedback on my homelands.. Look forward to your visit to Aitutaki..
❤ Tokoa 😊 we spent 6 nights just in rarotonga and decided to make the most of our time there. Next time we're coming back to raro we'll go to aitutaki as well and try stay there for a while too cause we heard it's really beautiful there.
You are my sunshine... Love that song. I didn't know of Raratonga until you guys showcased it. The food you guys ate looks so delicious. That was an interesting tour setup.
Rarotonga is a 💎 of a place that us kiwis and our aussie neighbors have been going to for many years. Food sights and hospitality are world class this was just overall an amazing trip 😍
thanks for the video guys, miss my island so much, the food so yummy looking u2 enjoying eating. and again, thanx for the video. 👍👍
Heya Joey! Yeah we love eating a lot 😂 we were fed so well from the lovely families in the cook island culture tour. So delicious... i really miss ika Mata 😅🐟 thank you so much for checking out our video and dropping us a comment. 2 more videos from raro on their way 😊👋

Love your guys accent too.
Glad our video was able to help! Hope you have a wonderful time there 😊 the video was from a few years ago so prices probably have gone up but hopefully not too much 🤞🤞🍀 all the best to you 🙌
Very nice place! I love the airport live music reception :) Food looks delicious!!
Rarotonga is an awesome island. Next time we would love to go back and explore the different islands too 😁👍 great food readily exceeded expectations!

Hahaha you guys are too kind thank you so much for the support really it does mean a lot to me and yen ❤ have a great Easter break!
Kia Orana Peter & Yen 👋🏼😃🌺
Your video was put together beautifully
Wow $600 per night.. I nearly fainted but i guess with your group all putting in will make it lighter on your wallet
Those houses you visited to have your meals, the 2nd house and it’s food Drool 🤤
Meitaki Maata for this video
And you two looked good in your Kuki Attire 💕
Looking forward to your other episodes
Kia Orana auntie ❤😁👋 thank you for the compliment on the video we really wanted to make sure we could show off the awesomeness of raro properly so spent a quite few hours editing this one 😊 yeah $600 a bit steep but the location was excellent and after a few pina colada by the beach we forgot all about that 😂 cook island food is amazing I'm craving it right now I want Ika Mata hahaha 😁 thank you for watching!
Ah... The Cook Islands... Looks like paradise guys. You soon got stuck into the lovely food on the first day. Accommodation looked plush. Looking forward to seeing this series unfold ❤️👍
The food is the most exciting part of any trip hahaha especially being lucky enough to get some delicious traditional cultural foods that's an unforgettable experience 😊👍 yup accommodation was awesome too right by the lagoon can you have too much of a thing in this case NAH 😂
It’s beautiful place to be , many thanks great video
An amazing place that we'd love to come back to. Thank you for watching 😁✌
Rarotonga looks beautiful guys. Love the relaxed Island vibe and food. Can't help but notice that it's a bit pricey, but that maybe due it not being commercialised.
Happy Easter Te ngu! From our research it looks like all the islands range from pricey to very pricey. I think raro is actually on the more affordable end with Tahiti getting very expensive. But as long as you eat local produce it makes the cost much more affordable 😊 hopefully over time we'll head out to each and every island 👌
Brilliant !!! that "BED FLOP" straight fiiiiirrreee!!! :D
😂😂😂 it was like jumping into a massive marshmallow 🔥
What a big room you got!!
It all seems like a perfect holiday spot! Relax, beach, pool...
Haha! nice change of outfit there!
Lovely ukelele sound!!
Take us with you the next time!! 😍😍😍
Hahaha yeah it's a big room there were four of us staying in there. This was definitely the ultimate relaxation spot. We reached a new level of unwinding a place where words could barely be formed and the level of tension in our body was -100 😂😂😂 let's meet up overseas one day!
@@PeterandYen deal!! here we go!! ;)
this was enjoyable video to watch i probably need to put this on my bucket list
Yoooo Kiernan! Happy Easter hope you're having an awesome break from studying 😁👍 yeah man rarotonga is magic definitely needa visit there one day!
@@PeterandYen appreciate it love to hear from you guys i love to tune in every sunday and watching your guys videos keep it up
hope you guys enjoyed your easter weekend take care and have a lovely week
Thank you bro really appreciate your support ❤ Easter break was great we ended up going to bay of islands for a couple of days. Hope you had a good one too!
I was there 2 weeks ago and fell in love 🙌 I've nicknamed the island Scooter Island lol
Hahaha that's such a perfect name for raro 😁👍 you must be like us we miss the island too! Once you adjust to raro life you wanna stay in raro life 😁👌❤
Amazing views and the food island styles. Amazing, looks just like Hawaii without the big crowds. I just looked up Rarotonga and it's not too far from Hawaii, pretty close to Fiji, Samoa and Tahiti. I enjoy how you edit and adding the prices in US dollars, which is helpful for travelers looking to vacation, and those tips are perfect too!
Great summary of rarotonga it is an amazing place for sure. All the Pacific islands are reasonably close to each other but if you live in US will be a lil further for you to get there. We're glad you enjoyed these videos we think they are some of the best ones we've put together yet 😁👍
Such a beautiful place and so much food! I actually have never heard of the cook islands and had to look it up on the map haha
Yeah man it's an awesome spot. Those from New Zealand and Australia will know the island well but I imagine for a lot of the world cook islands is a bit too far for them 😊 hope the series might convince you to come for a visit Ralph 😁👍
Omg I miss Raro so much can’t wait to go back
We can't wait to go back too such a magical place 😊❤
Great video guys! I hope to visit on the way back from New Zealand.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂 feels like ages ago we were in Raro but it was just last year! 🇨🇰
Great hospitality. The resort looks amazing. Great getaway. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hey David! 😁👋 hope you're having an amazing Easter break. The location of the resort was fantastic not far from the lagoon which was so beautiful!
Peter and Yen Rarotonga looks beautiful.
Having a great easter 🐣 in Auckland. Had a great feast and family birthday in glen eden last night. Today we’ll enjoy the rain 🌧. Enjoy the resort 🌸
Heya David family feast sounds awesome 😍 we're already back in New Zealand too just spent a couple of days over in bay of islands vlog coming soon hahaha. Auckland greeted us the usual way with rain hahaha ❤
This island and the ppl have a Hawaiian feel to it!! The food looks great!!! It's like a mixture fusion of everything combined!
The food is amazing in the Pacific islands especially the local cuisine. Ika Mata has to be one of the greatest things ever.. so simple yet amazing flavor and you feel fantastic eating it. Taro could be my rice replacement it's so yum! Never been to Hawaii but we do want to go one day 😁👍
You both are talented! Keep it up!
Thank you! We have many big plans for the channel coming up this year
LOOOVE!!! You got a lot of good footage👌🏼
That lady from bluesky did my sim card too.
Still guttered I didn’t get the chance to catch up with you guys. We’re planning a trip to Auckland in Aug so hopefully we can catch up for food. I’ll have a lot more free time too.
I love how you guys got to go around and eat at the locals houses. I wish we did that tour instead of going to the island night buffet.
Pacific resort is so beautiful btw. My Aunty stayed there.
Can’t wait for your next few Raro videos 😆
Aww we're going to be overseas from July until the end of the year 😅 so not sure about that meet up either. The progressive dinner was one of the best experiences ever! Hope we're able to do that in every country we go to. It's a fast way track to understanding a culture. You should do it next time 😁👍
Thnk u guys so much you just answered so many questions i had before my trip there👌
Awesome! Glad our video was helpful 🙂 hope you have a wonderful time in Raro!
Awesome video guys😉🤙
You've got the local words down too.
I just got back a couple of days ago but stayed with family.
Kia manuia!
Thank you for dropping by and happy to hear the feedback about the video 😁👍 our cook island friends taught us a couple of words before we left which definitely helped too. Wishing we were back there right now. It's too cold in Auckland hahaha
@@PeterandYen a low of 3 degrees and 25 degrees just does not compare😳
Hahaha yup... at least we can watch game of thrones and feel like we're there 😁
Enjoyed your video. The pronunciation of the local words “taro” “ika mata” “rukau” was on point. Im gonna go look for some good island food today, thx 😊
Hi Trina 😊👋 thank you for dropping by and glad you enjoyed the video. We got a chance to eat with our cook island youtuber friends is that us fam and that definitely helped with pronunciation 😁👍
I love your trips and holidays everywhere
Thanks Yasmin 😊👋 looking forward to our next adventure, any suggestions? 😃
@@PeterandYen - definitely check out Germany always wanted to go there!!!
Ooo yes never been to Germany before that'd be cool

Hey Michala hope you're having a wonderful Easter break 😁👋 don't be sorry it's all good we totally understand! You're so sweet ❤ we've been great this trip was just the ultimate in relaxation and guess what we have the same favorite hahaha I loved the ika Mata, over the 6 night stay I had 8 bowls of ika Mata and since being back in Auckland craving it so much! Yen's favorite is the poke and chop sui. Glad the prices were useful for ya take care ✌😁
That’s amazing to hear guys! I also found it to be very relaxing when I was there. Looking forward to the next episodes 🤗😍
Oh thanks for sharing love the video.
Thank you for watching and leaving us a comment 😊👋 have a great week!
So cool. This reminds me of Hawaii! It's so far away from you guys! Our first stop at a new place is always the local convenience store. It's so much fun.
Hahaha I know right it's the best finding what the local snacks the store has. Dan and Naz did some research already there are direct flights from LA 😁👌
Sweet place guys 👍 A bit pricey for our style of travel these days. We’ll just have to live it through your videos. Good to see you enjoying yourselves and all the wonderful food.
The cost was a lil better once we split it amongst the four of us. But yup things on the island can be a lil bit pricey. Rarotonga was a blast needa go back sometime soon and next time to Aitutaki too 😁
We been there........That was amazing....^ 6 awesome days in my life.......
We spent 6 nights there too. You must be wanting to return again just like us hahaha. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment 😊✌
Never heard of Rarotonga till now, it looks awesome tho! Great info on the necessities! the home visits look very intersting!
Yo guys being aussie, I totally would have thought you would have known about rarotonga 🤔😂 all goods one more place to add to your lists. The food tour was the bomb!
Absolutely divine ❤️
👍 Rarotonga ❤
Kia orana!
I'm from the island of Rarotonga (Vaka Takitumu lessgoooo!) and I happened to stumble across this video and I loved every moment of it! I also had a bit of laugh because one minute into your video, I see my aunty and uncle in the corner LOL. It was so heart-warming hearing Yen pronounce our reo like local and seeing all the amazing food you tried! Got me a feeling a little homesick but I'm so glad I watched this video!
Meitaki ma'ata and kia manuia!
Kia Orana! 😁👋 Aw thank you so much for your lovely comment ☺️ Haha that's awesome you spotted your aunt and uncle! 😂 Did you show the video to them too? We really enjoyed Raro and all the seafood especially.. ika mata.. oh my so delicious 🤤 hope you get a chance to go back home some time 🙂❤️ Meitaki ma'ata! 😁
Oh nice! My home island! Make sure you try Vili's Burger Joint while you there
Brooo your home island is the bomb! Yen and I both loved our time in rarotonga. There was one afternoon we sat at the beach for 7 hours drinking pina coladas then going for swims afternoon to late night thinking.... does life really get much better than this 😂 we are back in Auckland already but we will go back one day and will needa try Vilis burger joint. Have a great long weekend!
Awesome upload dear friend very nice TFS
Thank you glad you enjoyed our video from rarotonga 😁👍
Ratatonga...had to look that one up on the map! Looks like a fun place! Gotta do the bed dive lol!!
Hahaha it's been on our bucket list for ages. Now that we've ticked it off we want to head right back 😅 you should totally go and bed dive too 😁👍
You both sound like locals...great pronunciation and hope you both had a blast in Rarotonga ❤️
Hello granny hale 😊👋 I'm a lil bashful with my pronunciation but yen is very talented at getting words correct 😁 plus I'm sure being kiwi and growing up with Pacific islanders has helped ❤👍
No they don’t 💀💀
That banana and coconut salad looked delicious ✔️ Great video Peter and Yen! 😃
Thanks Chelsea glad you enjoyed the rarotonga episode it was such an amazing experience being able to eat with three local families 😁👍
Foodies find perfect places to eat......you,we are just like that.....relishing local cuisine is something device for us......I am sure you agree with us......superb place with authentic local cuisine.....
Yeah! We were so happy to find cook island tours and go on the progressive dinner one of our favorite activities of the whole trip. Met a bunch of fantastic people and ate some traditional delicious cook island cuisine 😍👏👌
Meat is very expensive there. Wow this place is beautiful. Where you staying it's so nice. Great tips guys! The second location with all this food looks amazing!
Looks like you had fantastic time there. Happy Easter guys :)
Happy Easter 😁👋👋 we had an amazing trip. Miss the place as soon as we left. Meat is definitely expensive we only saw like two cows the whole time we were there. Fish and fruit were the most plentiful resource which suited us just fine 😁👍 o the resort is smack bang in an amazing location right next to the lagoon ❤ paradise
Kia orana guys I really love the video's and alot of memory's 😅👌👍 awesome love it

That banana coconut salad looks good. You guys remain in great shape considering all of the great food you eat lol
Hahaha I dunno about that mate. My stomach is looking pretty puffy these days from my ice cream diet 😂
the accomodation there looks very nice the food shop prices whew costly seems a nice place for a holiday and no surprise getting into the food there and it looks very tasty
*got our like 👍fully watched 👀 AU🌟supported😁*
It was the best starting this trip off with some local cook island cuisine 😁👍 great spot for a holiday especially if you're stressed cause you will wind down many many notches. Beach side sipping pina coladas... that's the life 😂👏
I appreciate you guys for going to my country 😁
We enjoyed visiting! You live in a beautiful place :)
wow you travel again. very nice island, make me remember of lombok and gili Island in Indonesia
Traveling is our favorite thing to do 😁✌ we've been to Bali but haven't visited lombok or gili island. One day we'll be back to Indonesia for round two and we'll ad them to the bucket list 😁
Yup, just come, btw i thought you are Indonesian the first time i visited your channel lol
Hahaha I'm reasonably tanned for a Chinese guy is that what it was?
well i discovered you channel alongside with Helmi, so i thought you are also Indonesian, and yeah a little bit about your skin colour. pretty much i won't guest that you are really from mainland China
its 2022 and this video still makes me hungry!
AAAWWWW so jealous, love the food, place, people - and everything there ... so wanna go back again - been away too long
Hi Royce 👋😁 totally right with all three of these things. We have only just left but we want to go back already. Had an amazing trip 👍
😁❤😎👍✈
Awww so cool seeing Rarotonga again, out of all the places I have visited in the world. Rarotonga was one of my fave! We were surprised at Wigmores with the price of the Ceres Organic food. It was pretty much on par with NZ right?! My cousin got married at Pacific resort. so nice! wow that tour visiting other homes for dinner looked awesome. Will look into that next time I am there.
Hey leah 👋 it's certainly high up on our list as well. For us we entered into a whole new dimension called island time. It was so relaxing and peaceful loved it. Sounds like you have a lot of special memories on the island too 😊👌 yeah the Ceres produce is about the same as New Zealand but everything else is a little more to a lot more. Def needa check out the progressive dinner one of the best experiences on the island 😊👍
I've been there in december, it is a wonderful place
Such an amazing island! Sounds like you had an awesome experience too 😊👍
I've been to Raro several times over the years and I love those lagoons! That's why this token "bloody yank papa'a" calls myself a Maori "trapped inside a white man's physical body" as my running joke. My favorite activities in Rarotonga include snorkeling in these shallow, crystal-clear coral lagoons. And doing a lot of nature photography over Raro's colorful jungle scenery. You know I mean this in a fun way.
Raro is such a beautiful place. Miss it a lot will have to come back sometime soon. The lagoons and mountains ⛰ plus all the yummy fish and fruit. But also the people are lovely 😁👍 you're fortunate to have visited a few times
fantastic! thank you so much
Glad you enjoyed it! ☺️🙌
While the best time is between end of July to August....The Maeva NuI starts. Its when all our island in the Cook Island come together and celebrate our culture🌴❤
Just did a bit of reading about Te Maeva Nui festival. You're right sounds like a great time to visit. National event celebrating the birth of Cook island independence 4th of August and lasts a week. Ok next time we come we will time it over this week 😁👍

Lucky you going to the world cup! Yen and I didn't manage to get any tickets and the resell price is horrendous... have fun in Japan 😁👍 that's another great country to visit. 5 trips to Asia in a year is a lot! You must really enjoy it there.
@@PeterandYen In 2007 Singapore 1 week Penang 1 week Japan 9 days. In 2008 Japan 3 weeks In 2009 Tokyo 1 day lol just for the bledisloe cup my Japanese friend Yuko mother paid for my flights back to Japan because I left ¥30,000 in her jacket when she went to the rest room coz I don't like staying for free at her place in 2007. 2010 Thailand Brunei Beijing and Japan 2011. Yes I do enjoy it in Asia.
Wow sounds like a lot of great holidays and you're super into your sports 🤔😁👍 we're going on a massive Asia trip later this year around July can't wait. Penang, Singapore and Beijing are on the list plus many many more 😊
@@PeterandYen ohhhh nice sounds exciting trip. I love all of Asia soo much to see do eat.
Love the intro! Feel those tropical vibes right away, especially with that music
Great! Hahaha that's exactly what we were going for. Really wanted to bring everyone right into the same experience that we were having 😁👍
OMG love that someone at the airport is singing and playing guitar!! Never has that ever happened at an airport we have been to! What a warm welcome 😍 BUT $2.19 a litre for petrol.... Thats CRAZY expensive 😂 well compared to Aus anyways... Your resort looks lovely! So many palm trees! It's starting to get cold here in Sydney, and an island vacation would be fab right now!
Hahaha guess I'm pretty used to that price for petrol since we're from New Zealand it's around the same actually 😅 yeah the resort was great most impressive of all was the fact that it was right next to the lagoon where we spent a lot of time 😊
Amazing
This place is totally amazing hope you get to visit sometime too 👍
Use to live here, black rock was a place there where its the last place your spirit leaves on the island when you pass away
Thank you for sharing always enjoy hearing about Pacific Island culture 🏝
OMG! this wa Awesome!!!! I was eating crackers when you mention the price on the meat and also choked when on the prices! lol This is going on my bucket list on the top do the tour going to different family homes and trying Raro food soooo yummy!
Pahahaha yeah... red meat is pretty expensive in raro but that's ok cause fish and fruits are quite affordable 😊✌ I much prefer seafood over anything too ❤🐟 hopefully with the next few episodes you'll be able to add more things on your bucket list!
Peter and Yen can’t wait 😊
Shot Peter & Yen for the tips but yo I just came for the food and I've heard a lot about the tours but dam! You can't beat island food hahahaha how good did that poke look?? Yum! Yen you definitely looked the part so pretty 😍
