The first time I went to Japan, Haneda was my entry. Arrived at 5 am, tired but happy to spend three weeks in Japan. It was very easy to maneuver once outside, especially after an eleven-hour flight from San Francisco. I exchange my dollars in Mizuho ginko and then wait for the JR East Office to open (and deflect the rush hour in hamamatsusho). Sadly, it was the only time I visit Haneda, the other three times it was Narita.
Just a Small airport.. Paid and limited room for Shower Room 24h, luggage Storage / Locker storage always full.. limited fast food restaurant like Yoshinoya 24h, Tullys Coffee 24h, and no even had Mcd, KFC.. just had one normal 24h convenient store beside haneda arrival hall.. overall, this airport is super clean.. well facility and had USB smartphone charge at each waiting seat airport.. like other airport, lot of shop are close after 12am.. JR East Travel service center close at 6.30pm..
So excited!! My first time to Japan (excluding a mini layover I had when I was one year old)! I will be flying into Haneda on Jan 28 at 10pm and will have a full day all to myself the following day. I am overwhelmed, but this video eased some of that. 😅😅😅
Thank you for the nice comment! The customs declaration paper and the disembarking paper will be given to you directly on the plane, or if not there are many desks before going through immigration where they are available.
Great video. I shall be perhaps arriving at Haneda when I visit Tokyo in the future. It would be great if ANA would fly from Tokyo Haneda to Belfast George Best Airport directly in the future using the Boeing 777-300ER's as the flight would only be around 13hours and 50mins from Japan to Northern Ireland. Also I think the Japanese would enjoy Northern Ireland as well as we would be able to fly directly to Japan.
But what we really need to know is how to organise private transport, given public transport is not allowed for foreign arrivals at this time. Japan-guide, can you help us?
Hi japan-guide, I will have 13 hrs layover in Haneda airport from 7AM to 8PM on Monday 4/16/19. - I am thinking to go to visit Ashikaga Flower garden & Sensoji Temple. Please give me directions. - Is there a daily ticket, so i can use all trains all day?
Sounds like a fun trip! Here's directions and more information about each location: - Ashikaga Flower Park: www.japan-guide.com/e/e3850.htm - Sensoji Temple: www.japan-guide.com/e/e3001.html There are also 1 day train passes for Tokyo Metro and JR trains: - Tokyo Metro: www.tokyometro.jp/en/ticket/1day/index.html - JR: www.jreast.co.jp/e/pass/tokyo_free.html
Thanks for the very helpful video! Just a quick question, if I purchase the ticket for the Tokyo Monorail and set my destination as Shibuya Station. The ticket that I purchase will act as the transfer after I switch to the Yamanote Line right? Thanks!
+Victor Duong The ticket for the monorail will only go as far as Hamamatsucho Station. Here you'll have to transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and buy a new ticket to Shibuya. If you have a pre-paid IC card like a SUICA then you can use that instead of buying paper tickets to save time.
On the flight to Japan a cabin attendant should hand them out. Otherwise, the forms are available at the back of the areas where people line up for immigration and customs.
It can be intimidating going through customs and immigration. Rest assured that if for some reason the forms are not handed out on the plane, there are plenty available when you land in the areas where you'll need to submit them.
Airport bus companies operate a few late-night connections from Haneda Airport's terminal 3 to various places in Tokyo and Yokohama until around 2am, but note that they are more expensive than buses departing before midnight (typically twice the regular fare). More information on access from Haneda Airport: www.japan-guide.com/e/e2430.html Hope this helps!
I have a13 hr long lay over in haneda airport, I wish to see the city while waiting for my connecting flights. Can you give some tips on how to navigate going to Tokyo since my flight will arrive in the evening. My concern would be the transportation on coming back to the airport in the early hours. Thank you.
If you arrive in the evening, it sounds like your layover will be over night. If so, keep in mind that the first train from Hamamatsucho station is 4:59am via the Tokyo Monorail and arrives at 5:15am. Hopefully this is enough time to make your flight in the morning. If you need transportation earlier than this there is always a taxi (which can get expensive).
The only direct methods of transportation are highway bus or taxi, however a taxi would cost over 10,000. By train take the monorail to Hamamatsucho and transfer to the JR Yamanote Line which takes you to Ikebukuro. Have a good trip!
My hotel is 7 mins from Akihabara how do i get there from Henada Airport and will i need to get a passmo card i think its called as i will mostly be in tokyo
From Haneda Airport you can take a Keikyu Limited Express train to Shinagawa Station, and from there you can take the Yamanote Line to Akihabara. If you need more info regarding the passmo card, we have a page dedicated to train cards on our website:www.japan-guide.com/e/e2359_003.html Enjoy your trip!
Once you reach Tokyo station take the Tokaido shinkansen to Nagoya (about 100 minutes and costs about 11,000 yen). Here is more info: www.japan-guide.com/e/e3302.html
I think it will best for you to take limousine bus to JR Shinjuku station, then take JR Chuo Line Limited Express called Azusa buying ticket to Matsumoto.Hope you can enjoy your trip in Japan.
Good question! You can use the Japan Rail Pass to take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho Station, then transfer to the Yamanote Line and ride until either Kanda or Ueno Stations (depending on train timing). However from here to Asakusa you need to ride the Ginza Line run by Tokyo Metro company which is not covered by the Japan Rail Pass. Have a good trip!
They usually give them out on the airline right before landing. If not the will have cards right before you go to immigration. They will be attendants there to help you.
Yes, here is much more information about IC cards: www.japan-guide.com/e/e2359_003.html And here is information about the Japan Rail pass: www.japan-guide.com/e/e2361.html

What a marvelous place Tokyo is, & such well behaved people. Then you look at London & its multiple airports. :(
Very helpful video. Thanks for creating it to help newbie travellers.
I love Haneda international terminal. The best great experience as always. Arigato 💋💋

Layovers are not supposed to be included in the travel.
Very informative video, i'm planning to go to Japan this winter.
Have a great trip!
Haneda was way more convenient for me than narita, plus tokyo was AMAZING
Where do you get the disembarking- and the customs declaration papers? And thank you for this useful information about the airport. :)

Never been to Asia. For my 6 days in Tokyo, my AirAsia arrival is in Haneda and when it all ends my JetStar departs from Narita. Is that bad luck?
No, this seems like a good plan.
I'm sure many Keikyu line trains terminate at Shinagawa and few serve to Narita.
thank you for the video! very good .. I have permission to download it to create narration on my channel. thanks again!

If I need to get to Shinjuku from Haneda, do I take the monorail or the Keikyu? Looking for the cheapest option.
I live in São Paulo , Should I Fly Jal Or ANA ?🇯🇵
short and useful video! can I just confirm if I can use JR Tokyo Wide pass from Haneda Airport to Tokyo Central?
Hi, what to do with 14 hours lay over at Haneda Airport, thanks!
I like tokyo i love you tokyo
So, you need 2 papers for immigration / custom ahead of time?
On the flight to Japan a cabin attendant should hand them out. Otherwise, the forms are available at the back of the areas where people line up for immigration and customs.
Phil Cuneo yes. Upon arrival you will be placed in a labor camp for bringing foreign pretzels to Japan. I caution you to not bring foreign snacks.
Which do you recommend taking, the monorail or the keiko line if my destination is Akasaka??
Keikyu, definitely.
goo.gl/9vJwe2
Thank you
Just to be sure, so if I want to go directly from Haneda to Asakusa (without transfer), I can choose the Keikyu Line ?
That's correct. It should take between 30 to 35 minutes.
japan-guide.com thanks for ur answer :)
for using the buses do I need to purchase a ticket in advanced or do I pay when I get on
Do I have to print out the disembarkation card and the customs declaration card before going to Japan?
No, it will be given to you on the plane.
@@japanguide ok. I'm just nervous. This would be my first trip abroad and it would be in Japan. Thank god I knew this before I go.

How about if we arrive Haneda airport at 2300 pm at night. The Tokyo monorail & Keikyu line is still working?
Tokyo Monorail and Keikyu Airport Express both run until about midnight.
If we don't have the Jr pass we can still ride the Tokyo monorail?
Yes, you'll just need to buy a ticket at the ticket machines located next to the Tokyo Monorail ticket gates on either the second or third floors.
