Dot you forgot a very important item, Toilet paper. There is nothing worse then travelling and stopping at a rest area or even a camp site and they are out of toilet paper.
I got here too late to be the first person that suggests toilet paper. LOL Also take bath size towels in case you get caught in a rain storm or stop somewhere to swim.
Oh my God, thank you for the baking soda tip. I have to wear these dumb dress shoes for 8+ hours every day that have z e r o ventilation and they're getting pretty ripe. You're my savior!
Well edited video, Dot! I'm still on the road. I love it. I've Been in the O.C. since June. I have a nice conversion van I can stand up in with a bed. I'm trying to find a dufflebag that doubles as a pillow to save space. Also, you can give up paper maps entirely by taking a screen shot of googlemaps on your smartphone/tablet. Or do memo shot on Googlmaps and save it on you phone. A deep cycle marine battery is awesome, also (boat battery). They work great for cars and their a little heavier but often cheaper than a car battery, and their like lithium-ion batteries in that they can be completely drained. I've killed mine by leaving my lights on before, but this 3 year old battery which is always charging my phone/laptop everyday is still going strong - $50.00-$80.00 O'Reilly Auto Parts. You, also should have a pair of heavy duty jumper cables that have good reach 12-16 ft with a bag to store them in- $20.00 at Walmart Supercenter. You guys need a new rear passenger seat window, or having a hole cut and a glass hatch made so you can keep phones/computers charged with a cords running into to back cab from the dash. Kevin probably needs to replace the rubber seals around the edge of the cab to keep it from leaking, or duct tape sections of white tarp with white tape (Walmart) over the leaky areas until he can replace them. Also, you can insulate and cover the interior wheel wells too, and you'd be set. And, all Home Depots, Lowe's, and Walmarts have free parking lot wide wifi now. You can just park and upload the vlogs in 25 minutes from the truck because the signal is stronger than Starbucks or McDonalds.
Do you have a way to raise or tighten your curtains? I know the curtains are there to not allow people to look into your truck when you're sleeping but they're so low it seems like it defeats the purpose.
the good thing about duffel bags is you can also use them as a pillow!!

You could swap out that battery lantern with a hand cranked lantern when it's time to replace it. And there's camping shower tents and bags.

I did a cross country road trip several times, most recent was coast to coast in October.
I would add Baby wipes. Your face isn't the only thing that gets "not so fresh" .. lol They can also double as TP in a pinch.

I love journaling on trips but I always end up focusing on the negatives of the day... I'm working to better that and I just hate my hand writing!! xD
