NEW TETR.IO BLITZ WORLD RECORD - 1,232,905 (Former)

  • I got this score earlier today just before my stream while in a voice call with members of my personal Discord. I'm really happy with this score, and having a score that ISN'T a choke (surprising, I know) is extremely satisfying.
    Personal Discord invite link: / discord
    Unfortunately I didn't get this score on stream, so there is no VOD for me to link.
    For those curious, I'm using a strategy called DPC looping, where I do a first PC (perfect clear), second PC, then a TSD (T-spin double) to PC pattern known as DPC.
    Good guides for the 2nd PC and DPC are here:
    2nd PC: four.lol/perfe...
    DPC: four.lol/perfe...
    I stream daily at / caboozled .

    How consistent is this DPC strat? Are the all clears doable most of the time, or does this require a ton of resets for the RNG to work out?

    • @CaboozledPie
      @CaboozledPie  3 года назад +44

      I don’t do it optimally, so the consistency isn’t quite 100%. There are 3 aspects to the loop: 1st pc, 2nd pc, DPC.
      The first pc is highly inconsistent and only works around 60-80% of the time. Vertical I piece PCO is a low-chance setup, and I only use it over better setups due to ease of use (therefore speed) and laziness in learning setups. Grace system and save I PCO are far better, but even those only have a little over 80% chance for a PC. Luckily, building 2nd pc on top of a failed 1st pc is often rather easy, so I am not forced to restart.
      2nd pc is far more consistent with good builds (not all of which I use; I do not have optimal 2nd pc). With that said, I can expect a successful 2nd pc 80-100#% of the time, varying on the build used as well as pieces saved from the 1st pc.
      DPC is the TSD-> PC that allows the loop to return to the start. DPC is extremely consistent, yielding PCs upwards of 98-100% of the time (with one extra L/J build being worse at around 91%). My solving isn’t perfect, though, so I do miss sometimes (albeit rarely).
      It is worth noting that DPC solves can often yield an extra TSD (beyond the one already guaranteed by the setup) or quad which helps to improve the score. These extra TSDs or quads come depending entirely on piece RNG and are inconsistent.
      In other words there is some RNG involved, but while having bad RNG can hurt your score, it usually isn’t run-ending (though it can be). This run in particular was quite lucky.

    • @CaboozledPie
      @CaboozledPie  3 года назад +1

      You may be misunderstanding what the “extra piece” means with regard to DPC or 3rd PC.
      First PC takes 7 blocks of a bag, then 3 (7-3), and second PC is 4-6.
      This leaves one more piece left in the bag after 2nd; the “extra” piece is the piece remaining in the bag after the 2nd PC solve, not the 2nd piece that you receive in the bag after.

      @CaboozledPie  3 года назад

      in its most basic form, an all clear is simply clearing everything on your board (including garbage)
      to get consistent all clears, you need to use builds that give you a good chance of creating a perfect clear within the next couple pieces
      and then you use what we generally call "pc vision" to solve it (figure out how to use the next few pieces to get a pc)
