- An update on Batou's health - good news & bad news we are dealing with; but he's initially feeling better, eating more & waking me up in the middle of the night (which is more normal than not). Thank you for all the prayers, thoughts, and good vibes coming our way. Please keeping goin'!

Thanks Jeff. Yeah, he is very kind and loves to snuggle. :-) Haha! His round of IV went really well today; just a little fuss putting in the needle but he stayed there purring even when I had to switch over to the other bag (meaning TWO needles today). He's eaten about 10 oz of food today (double from this time last week) and has jumped from 12.7 lbs (scary weight) to 13.3 (this morning) in just a few days. 1 more pound and his weight will be back to normal. In spite of things, he's showing great improvement. Thanks for your support and being there brother! Words can't express my appreciation. :-)
Hi Brad. I am a little late with this one but I wanted to wish you and Batou the very best. Please keep us posted. The VC has always been a very caring and loving community. I went through some tough times when my dad passed away five years ago. The love and support that I got from my friends in the VC helped comfort me in many ways. So I want you to know that you and Barou are in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there Brad~

Rob, I am so sorry to hear about your dad .... yet am glad you had great friends who helped walk you through that moment. Yeah, the VC is great and I can't believe the close friends I've made while making RUclips videos about records. :-) I will definitely keep everyone posted > Batou has been so kind and patient during his fluid treatments. Yesterday, he received two needles as I needed to change over to the second IV bag (since the first ran out). He fussed a little but not as much as he purred. I think he knows how much I love him & want to give him a good life. At the moment, he is sleeping well under the bed -- snoring. :-) Yep, I can hear him. It's loud. Haha! Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers Rob. And for your encouragement too. -Brad
Brad, thanks for the update Batou! Quality of life is the most important so it's great to hear that Batou is acting like himself and doing well adjusting to his new lifestyle. Cherish all of the time he gives you. I know you are. You can bet that I'll still be keeping the positive vibes, prayers and thoughts going your way. Hang in there Brad and Hang in there Batou!
Thanks Bill. Yeah, he's continuing to improve - doubling his intake of food today. He just stopped by and said "hi" to ya. xD I really do see quality of life for him; much different that last Monday and that makes me glad. It also makes it easier to do his IV treatment >> his nature also helps with that... if it was any other cat (even his sister, who adores me) I probably wouldn't have the nerve to do it. But he lays there purring, waiting for the drip to be done. Not a lethargic way; but more of a patient way. .... Just had a snuggle-fest with him. He could join the group snuggle! Haha! Yeah, cherishing these times and being intentional to say more than just "hi" to him. He's really responding well to that extra love too and not wanting to be by himself -- another good sign. I'm keeping my head in reality -- he has a finite amount of time left (and I don't know how much) -- yet I'm trying to give him the best life I can with as much remembrance and love I can have and show. We both deserve that at least. :-) Thanks again Bill for your love for him and me. I appreciate your friendship brother.

Thanks for the update on Batou. It sounds like you are doing every bit of fighting for him, and I know he appreciates it. It is good to hear that his appetite and mood are improving. I hope you two have many joyous moments ahead. Let me know if you need anything, and I will be there. I will text you soon buddy. Hang in there, we are all pulling for Batou.
Yeah, fighting for him brother! He's making it easy to do so too; today was another round of IV and he was so good -- fussed just slightly when putting the needle in (and I had to switch over to the second bag today so he got TWO needles) and he just rested there until it was done. He's gained a half pound in the last week (hoping for another pound) and he's doubled his intake of food from a couple weeks ago. Thanks for being there and for your support brother! Say, found something at Triangle Vinyl and thought of ya. Gonna try and get it in the mail tomorrow (hope you get it before the weekend is through). Hey bro sorry to hear about your cat!! Man that sucks we have a dog that we love and it's part of the family so I just could imagine how hard that would be. Much peace and positive vibes my friend

It is hard... gosh... the kidneys are not going to fix themselves... poor guy... I feel for him... and for all that love him... It is hard to say if it is better to know they are going to go... and prepare yourself for it... knowing that he might be suffering... or to have a sudden unexpected passing like getting a band-aid ripped off.... There is no good way to lose a loved one....
Well.. I got 3 boxes today! THANK YOU! Can not wait to get off of work to open them!
Its difficult to say which I would "prefer", not knowing and happening suddenly or knowledge of the potential suffering... my first cat, Tifa, passed on 1/24/2006 (6 days after my 30th). I had no idea her heart was enlarging, cutting off her esophagus so she couldn't eat. She stumbled once (just a half step) when jumping into bed >> but that was never like her; she never stumbled. That's when I noticed she wasn't eating >> next day, and two vet visits later, I discovered her heart was almost twice of what it should be... one of the vets graciously said they could put her down that moment. I wasn't ready for it and said I would give it a night's thought. She died that evening at 11:30... suffocated... yeah, I think I just answered my question. I'd rather know -- it will help me prepare for the day when it actually does need to happen. I never want to do the "wait and let me think about it" again and have it be the wrong choice. Hindsight is 20/20, I get that and so, there is grace for me... I would rather not make any mistakes :-) Cuz, I just love 'em too damn much. Ya know?
Awesome you got 'em. Man, that was quick. I shipped them out Thursday or so... Glad they arrived safely! Enjoy 'em! I tried to keep Ron's VCLT packed together but they all didn't fit in that box >> but the ones in the Wal-Mart bag are definitely still from Ron. Thanks for your words Esteban and your love for him. He's doing quite well considering what he's going through. His spirits are up, he's eating double what he has been, he's gained half a pound (one more pound to go) and he loves to purr like an engine. And he's still a kind kind guy.
