Taking a sword and smashing it against solid stone is going to damage even the best blades to some degree, i have personally seen this when accidentally hitting stone with an Albion sword that was almost fifteen hundred dollars, they are top of the line in terms of quality and durability and it chipped when hitting stone while it didn't chip when striking various replica armors. There is a reason (certain) stones are used to sharpen swords, because they have the ability to break material off due to strength, that's how sharpening works just on a minuscule level, so of course stone will be able to damage a blade where metal sometimes won't. It is still possible to damage a blade against metal, but it's harder to do than agaisnt stone. You can also severely damage a sword by simply hitting wood too, so testing against stone should never be the primary testing method because only an idiot swordsman would intentionally strike stone with a sword.

@@FabricatedPheonix it very much is different depending on the form the metal takes. I have no idea how much real world practical experience you have with good quality swords but as someone with countless hours of practice and dozens of hours of specificly stress testing different swords, i can tell you that metal vs stone is not going to give you the same result, there are too many variables.
Taking a stone castle with swords swinging everywhere hitting everything, perfect test.
@@stephenmcculley788 it's really not. How much do you know about historical warfare?
@@daltonevans3412 been in 3, but not in any requiring swords.
Test should be done on all 3 blades..yes including the original example blades. So we can see which blades actually do better during all test
