You'll thank me for this. You MUST check out a new Japanese all girl band called NEMOPHILA. (Not Philia like everyone says at first.) Songs called RAITAI or DISSENSION. They havent been around long so not a huge catalogue but believe me they are AMAZING.

Back then it was basically anything that had screaming in it was part of the hardcore/metal scene in my group of friends. They were definitely a gateway into much MUCH heavier stuff!
Man just finding Emery a year ago has to hurt. All of the things you heard in this early track of theirs has been their bread and butter for a long long time. With their growth as musicians, while definitely not staying in the emo lane most of the time, has been a sight to behold. Unbelievable talent in this band.
For reals dude, this band had EXTREME energy. I saw them about 5 times. The shows were perfect - they brought people together. Bass tone off the chart.

Emery has been my favorite emo band since I first heard them on the radio in 2005. "Walls", "The Ponytail Parades" and "Fractions" really caught my attention at the time because they seemed to have unique song structures, compared to the simple structure that the vast majority of songs have. I could also relate to some of the lyrics (although for me it was simply unrequited love). Thanks for checking these guys out! 👍
Emery is from my hometown of Greer,South Carolina. The guy in the beige sweater is one of my best friends uncle Devin Sheldon. I’ve known this guy since I was a kid. Emery is one of the biggest bands to come out of our hometown.
The greatest thing about emery compared to other emo bands is they sound exactly like their record live.. they honestly don't need auto tune.. both singers are amazing
that’s the best part about emery- u don’t see it coming. they’re purposefully unpredictable, almost almost like the screamo christian emo metalcore version of deftones but better in their own way: you feel like you just heard 3 diff songs after 4 and a half mins bc their constant time signature changes w/ their harmonies are just so beautiful and masterful. they’re underrated bc of structural business reasons but they’ve really grown to become of the best of their genre. timeless american song
This album “The Weak’s End” is a VERY solid record. I would almost say they came out around the same time as Coheed and sonically at times, they run they same lines on this first album. It’s VERY good.
Emery are very high in the ranks of emo. I toured with everyone from tbs to mcr, and these guys were among the best. Also, some of the nicest guys in the genre.

yeah. why and how did u miss these bands? lol if u haven’t already, i’d love to see u react to Little Dipper by Hum. Deftones was always my fav band but something about You’d Prefer An Astronaut’s shoegaze/drone/space emo hardrock tracklist was just such a cultural and cognitive reset for me that my body’s still physiologically processing. Little Dipper’s also just one of thee greatest poems in contemporary american sci-fi. it’s so so good.

Just wait until you dive deeper into their discography and realize they only get better and better with age. And we’re talking almost 20 years worth of music.

Emery, Underoath and Anberlin were some of the few great Christian Emo bands. Emery and Anberlin were so underrated in the scene.
I toured with emery, anberlin and mewithoutyou back in the day regularly... just amazing bands.

Emery is one of those well rounded bands all their songs they converted to acoustic versions and they are just as bad ass
