Funny, I'm 60 and was in my Florida Room putting up thermal drapes to make it warm enough to start my worm farm when I stopped to watch this 60 years old woman expand her Florida worm farm. Very inspirational.
Maybe just a coincidence but I am taking it as a sign. I had tickets to a concert tonight but instead I am going to bed so I can get up early and work on my worm farm tomorrow before the work week comes back around.
Full Steam Ahead!! Thanks Captain Matt!

I'm really new at this worm farming. But I sure enjoy Samantha at MeMe's Worms and Captain Matt videos. They are very inspiring and knowledgeable people to listen to. It makes me happy that there are still some great entrepreneurs out there who are willing to share their knowledge and passion for what they love to do. They both will inspire many young learners for sure.

I just launched my “small batch” vermicompost business a little over a month ago. And it is women (me) operated but I have 7 granddaughters that I am hoping will have their hands in growing this business.
I have been doing vermiculture for about 5 years. I grow lots of food for the Urban setting I am in, with nothing but my worm compost to feed my backyard crops.
I have a question: how to find local businesses to donate their old produce.
Many stores have either personal composting or corporate compost firms they work with. Even Jamba Juice just tosses their waste down the drain because that is what corporate policy dictates. I don’t live where there is agriculture, but honestly too much waste, still exists.
I do have plots at the local community garden and often they throw away a lot of stuff that can be utilized. I think they are wanting to look into the solution, but it’s a work in progress.
Need help to feed the growing worms. Thanks.

Meme, I have found the best worm harvesters are grand kids (under age 12) & their friends. These little gremlins have great eyesight and fast, nimble fingers... AND, they'll work for Dairy Queen ice cream & pizza! The enthusiastic chatter that ensues is an added blessing...I'm not advocating child exploitation...Just enjoying quality time with the wee ones... Best of luck to you! I wish she was closer to me but we are about 130 miles or so apart. @@MemesWorms I would love to one and day and give ya al ol fashioned neck hug and help play with some of your worms. It would take me about 2 hours and 17 minutes to drive down to see ya, it's actually about 140 miles not 130 like I said above. You would be slightly closer if you were still in Lakeland GA. But I care for my 81+ year young mom, 2 dogs, 3 kitties and bunny rabbit and I work 7 nights a week about 16 hours a day from 1p until 4a so my time is slim, especially during the holidays. But I do hope to come out to see yas one day. I did subscribe to your channel and now if I need some worms or know of others who do I will sure be contacting you. I care about my worms so love knowing their travel wouldn't have to be as long being as your so close. I found you a month too late, got mine from online from Jim's or some other I can't even recall who it was this time around. They came on Halloween. Dealing with a fruit fly infestation and the cold because I can't keep them inside like I normally would in the cold because of this. Keep on Worming your way into the hearts and gardens of all the other worm wannabees out here. I will be binge watching the videos you have on your channel. 😘

Way to go Meme. Congrats on your expansion, that's just awesome. *Matt*, your talk about a worldwide shortage reminds me of Gubb Farm in Ireland. He wanted to buy worms for his extra large Johnson Su bioreactor and just couldn't get any. Even the local bait shops didn't have any. I’m 33 and have autism I started worm farming 10pm this ago and I wish I was able to do more and have more and wow I love them. I get all energised like Matt does talking about them and alot of people around me like my mum think I’m crazy lol but I know I’m crazy and good at it!!!
I’d love to work for meme but I live in the uk…. I’d love to do more. I only had another 250g of worms come today and omg I’ve never seen a worm ball as big they were happy healthy worms. I’m hoping to buy or make or sort out some new ways to house them as don’t have space in my 1 bed council bungalow….
But I have started on some buckets. And I’m hoping to start breading from them and get them going. I want the castings too as want to get away from liquid fertiliser… and I have been buying worm tea but money only goes so far.
That’s why I’m so please I have found captain matts page so I can learn new ways of doing things and I’m considering the wheely bin flow bin to store all the ones I’m not using for breeding. I have a maze farm in the loung and that’s fine but I need something more once I start to grow more. That’s my hoping. I also need to find a way to keep the castings ok and viable if I don’t use them. Coz atm I harvested and I have a 5Gallon bucket that I put them in and obviously some worms and caccons got thro so I’ve left them eating anything that’s left to make it 100% instead of 90% and then I’m gonna buy a new sifter that I can use by hand or make one if it’s cheaper but wood isn’t cheap here atm more is anything really lol. But then once I’ve harvested them I will set them up to keep till I bed but gonna buy a new box tote I believe as cheaper then buckets… easier to stroke outside and if cold I can cover. That’s my plan. I wish I could work and have a job but I tried for 8 years and it made me suicidal , sorry to say it but it’s the truth and like you say everything comes down to honesty and a lot of people don’t get that. I think I’m gonna work on my bings and get the worms happy so I can then breed them up and go from there . Keep watching what ya do and see if anything come of it here. I have space on my land to put in a 8x6 or so shed and could then work outta that if it comes to being worth while… so there is space for next steps if there is a want for it. I wouldn’t know where to start selling stuff etc as I’ve tried with my craft stuff but tbh so many people into that now there isn’t the want or people want things for $0 and you can’t do that when you have over heads and costs. Everything costs and nothing is free anymore. Sadly.
