Loving your content, it's given me a bit of confidence and pointers on my E92 330d N57, I've had to replace 3 wheel speed sensors, EGR valve, and do a plastic sleeve with gorilla glue to repair the manifold actuator arm which had snapped! Getting a plausibility error on the dreaded swirl flaps now and it looks like the glow plug control unit is buggered. 165k miles so she's not too bad and I love her. Wish I could do a rebuild. Keep up the good work mate, far more useful than other youtube car fixers, you have real world cars and a real world budget, don't lose that fella 👍
Just took my e81 2007 n47 120d 185k to the nurburgring.. got it up to 140mph on the autobahn and it was still smooth. I think it's a great efficient engine when maintained properly
Looking forward to seeing you getting the engine in! Would be good to get a video of you lowering it in and how you get it in the right place. Nice one 👍🏼
It would be nice if you could timelapse the engine going in using a shot from above. I was just thinking about the video title; why not do a format like "Trading £500 to £100000 Car #3 Episode 5" or something like that. It shows the amount of trades and the progress of the current one
George, thank you for listening to my extensive comments of the last vid and thank you for providing a quick update on the "most interesting" project...IMHO anyway! How much is the basic engine rebuild package, how much/where is a reasonable turbo reconditioner? Are you having the DPF professionally internally cleaned as well? Otherwise all the care you took with so many new and rebuilt components may lead to disappointing (performance) results... Regards, Chris from Connecticut P.S. What's on the agenda later in the year - are you planning to see the E12 on the road again after this one?
Thanks Chris! For the prices it’s best to get in touch with BMW Pro, as it varies depending on exactly what you need doing. I have gave the DPF a good clean out myself. I should be working on the E12 soon again yes!
BMW Pro supplied the engine for the video, but prices vary depending on what exactly you need doing so best to get in touch with them if you need anything doing👍🏻
Nice one, George, hope the installation goes smoothly, look forward to watching you turn the key and first drive
Mark
You and me both!

I agree! They are great engines!

I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to film getting it in etc as I need to get this done soon!
Engine out / in jobs are awlays the best as there are lots more accessible parts to replace. 👍
I agree!

That’s a good idea actually.. Seems like not many are clicking with the trading up series title though!
Well done G great vid's.
Much appreciated

Not such a cheap BMW any more, but what a great buy for your family member, years of reliable motoring ahead
Yes indeed!
What was the cost george for the engine work rebuild mate? Great vid

I bet it was nice not to do the clutch under the car whilst bench pressing a heavy gearbox 😂
Definitely.. Now i've just gotta line the engine up with the gearbox though!
Attracting the honeys in the comments again 😅
As always🙌🏻
