Why? Why is this STILL happening? Bo Nix's college career should be a lesson for HS qb recruits. He was almost just another "cautionary tale" about qb careers that seem to sizzle....right before they fizzle....at Auburn. Fortunately, SOMEONE, somewhere, was able to get through to him, and he managed to make a business decision, and at the last hour he got the hell out of there before "Auburn being Auburn" killed his football career. I guess not too many people were paying attention when one of the best qbs in the country, a 5-star GIFT, was just handed to auburn. And then, just as we Auburn fans stood and boo'd him off the field every other saturday, they managed to find every single way possible to (almost) destroy the kids professional future. And Jarret Stidham, god only knows how good he couldve been somewhere else. Thats about as good as it gets with qb play here at Auburn, and i know people that still think he sucked. Its laughable.
You don’t know anything about Payton Thorne saying “we never got to see his potential” Auburn by no means was perfect but Payton Thorne was ass, constantly checking into the wrong play, making the wrong reads, etc.
Didn't we say the same thing about Thorne, the Freeze hiring, and the recruiting class? When is all this game changing going to happen? I am eagerly awaiting its arrival.
me to, or medioza why not go with Salter who we have already seen what throw for 3500 and score 35 tds. Mendoza cooked us at J.H. I have seen Jackson A. get bench and look pretty good as a running back in Al game. My friend told me today Salter had 4 picks of schools in North East, we weren't on it so maybe we just got what we could get.
Salter has never played a top 50 defense... Not saying he is a bad player but last year he wasn't very good and it was in a weak conference. Arnold was playing top 25 defenses and was playing behind a horrible o line, 4th string receivers, and bad coaching.
Boomer Sooner here. Jackson Arnold couldn't help us, don't see him being able to do anything for Auburn. If he ends up being the starter, Auburn won't be a treat for the next few years.
@@colebstewart - Either you are a young fan (don’t really know college football), don’t actually follow recruiting and roster management, or simply don’t understand the game of football itself. Maybe all three.
I think that Auburn might give him one more after next year. Just because of money and the fact we’re still paying all these old coaches, but I’m not seeing Freeze having any success. I’ve seen too many things from Freeze that shows me he has no idea what he’s doing. He’s done well with the recruiting, but he’s just not a very good coach. Horrible game plan strategy and game management. Thorne caught a lot of heat for what poor coaching and play calling was mostly responsible. Your average Auburn fans who don’t really understand the game wouldn’t be able to pick up on those things. Either way Auburn needs to wait for the right coach to come along before just throwing and wasting more money at bad to less than mediocre coaches.
Bringing in Jackson Arnold is not a good decision - unless Freeze is not having to pay him very much (if anything). Think about it: OU doesn't want him, and his original OC at OU (Jeff Lebby, now HC at Miss St) doesn't want him. In that Lebby (who needs a strong QB room) didn't snatch him up shows that he is likely damage goods. However, wishing him all the best, because he is a good kid - just doesn't have the required "killer instinct".
Payton Thorne 2 coming up i totally disagree, i sure hope walker white or Deuce knight are ready next year. I believe M.Murphy, K. Salter, Mendoza cals qb, or Tulanes QB. So what I am saying in True Auburn Fashion, I would have expected nothing less. You could have gone through a couple of Thornes highlight plays last year and made the case he would be a good fit. He got benched bottom line maybe cause of Offensive line and or receivers so once again we dont need a small matbe, probably not. Needed a sure thing. Watch Hank Brown is gonna ball out and we once again we will be S.O.L. It's such a shame Freeze risked his career for this. I think he is right guy for job and best recruiter we have ever had and I am gonna gate when they fire him for 2 bad qb mistakes in a row. I hope they give him 4 years. Man i hate this.
If hf was the this great coach. He wouldn't be fired on his choices, no one forced him to start PT 2 years in a row And not get cam ward last Year Hf believes quarterback whispers he is not
JA is highly over rated, can't read defenses, struggles through his progression, runs when his first receiver is covered, and drops the ball without being touched. 47.8 QBR ranked 88th good luck your going to need it.
I mean he didn’t have any WRs, didn’t have OL, played with 2 OCs in one season. What did u expect? Beat Bama! He will be better than last year. Freeze is a good WB developed.
Great choice Hugh!!! War Eagle!!!🦅 very excited to see Jackson on the plains!
His deep ball needs help but the rpo is a quick decision making throws
So long as its an open competition for QB 1 going into next season im fine with it.
Open competition with who? They brought in a transfer with multiple years of eligibility like morons. The whole QB room is in the portal or graduated
Exactly
arnold good pick...can ron the rpo offense. Murphy a pure drop back passer no threat to run
Jackson is pretty good. Just hope Auburn takes 8-4.
Let’s goooo this is just the video we need rn. Thanks bro ❤

Wish you would let it play in real time once per play, the pause/play repetition is killing me!
Don’t care who we get he better not suck that’s all
So what about Deuce? I guess he'll just leave now...
Your mom's a game changer.....
thank you big dawg
If you thibk about it, this is a very auburn comment

Payton Thorne 2.0. Expect similar results.
Yeah I don’t think you know wth you’re talking about. Looking at stats does not give you the complete story. That should be obvious after last year.
@@Itshistory_itspoetryyou should know some Auburn fans go off emotions and never use their heads.

He's going to have a much better supporting cast at Auburn than he had at OU

OU’s current roster going into 2025 is far, far superior to Auburn’s.
@@lrvracer3515not even close in terms of overall talent and blue chips auburns is better especially in terms of receivers
no one could save OUs offense last year. O line was awful, no WRs. Sacked like 35 times. Quit coping and cheer for your team.

Lol terrible choice and the whole qb room transferred out
The QBs wouldn’t transfer out if they thought this was a guy they could beat out. 😂
