What a wonderful bit of advice for every career.
This is funny to me, my General Surgery Rotation Professor told me to quit med school because I studied to understand the logic not to memorize everything, yet here’s a different doctor saying it’s important to understand the logic.
Never give up
Never give up
Same here from India our professors are always telling us to mug up everything and memorize it
I had a professor in biochem that in our first course told us that medicine is learned only through memorization.
Good luck to all the aspiring physicians in our big world ❤
I have been through so may tests and procedures as a patient, I totally understand from a patient's point of view.
💝 So wise, to understand thoroughly!! 💝
this is some wonderful advice thank you doctor, im a first year med student
My brother in law is an Pediatric Trauma ER doc.
❤Great Advice and Motivation❤💝
Such good advice, a light bulb went off
That was beautiful
Im not a teen anymore. Im in my mid twenties and decided i want to be a psychiatrist. God, im terrified. But im going to school full time to finish my degree and apply while working full time. I hope i can do it. Im honestly not sure.
You’ve got this. I’m starting from scratch to get my BS and apply to PA school at 32 😅 wishing you luck!
@@Theveganlaowai Tysm, good luck to you too!
Good luck! I’m considering that path too
The process and reasoning are necessary.
Absolutely!
❤❤❤❤
I want to do pediatric emergency medicine or pediatric anesthesiology
I know the song but where can I get the somg
Wow
I'm in my junior year. Applying to med school while being a homeless student. I want to become a medical doctor in surgery and I'm going to get it done.
We believe in you! Keep going!

Risk/Reward isnt there
"Risk 4 years of your life and tens of thousands of dollars for a chance to get into medical school instead of choosing another career that is comfortable and where you don't need 12-14 years of education during the prime years of your life"
What are you doing during the prime years of your life?
Tbh learning how to be a physician is not a bad use of your time.
@@harrisonzhu3300 Learning stuff that interests me. Most stuff they teach in med school is useless. Doctors specialize, memorizing this metabolic pathway or the types of white blood cells probably won't be used. Also in North America you need a useless bachelors degree to apply for med school which wastes 4 years. In Europe you go in from high school.
@@skyhappy ok will I mean you can’t learn everything right? If medicine’s not for you than it’s not for you. Nothing wrong with that.
@@harrisonzhu3300 What I am saying is that the stakes are so high to get into med school in North America where you are forced to use 4 years of your life for a bachelor's. A doctor is a job at the end of the day, and it's not a very good one when you look at the time investment compared to other well paying fields.
@@skyhappy define “good”. Money wise? Sure you can make more in other fields, but you have to be top percentile. A lot of people are attracted to medicine for the job security/stability. If you get in, you’re essentially guaranteed a high paying job for the rest of your life so long as you do what you’re supposed to. And besides like people enjoy the work and the field. So like I said not for everyone, but it’s the best option for a lot of people with the right personality/interests. And of course, it has unique perks too
There is no future for doctors, change profession ASAP
