Because what's scarier: ONE bear on cocaine, or 30 to 50 wild boar... on cocaine? (Also, Razorback comes out on Bluray next month, so killer big movies have been on my mind).

Cocaine Bear is a great companion to M3gan in a new genre I like to call Elevated Schlock. My main criticism of the film was with the editing. There was one scene where the St. Louis guys referencing seeing the dead hiker, and then they do a quick flashback to seeing the guy dead. Why was that a flashback? Why didn’t the film just cut to it earlier? Other than stuff like that, I enjoyed the film. I want to believe the film opening with Jane was Elizabeth Banks homaging Wet Hot American Summer and David Wain! As soon as I heard that song, I knew what tone the movie was going for.

See, the drug dealers are also looking for the cocaine at the same time as the bear's gobbling it up, and as soon as the boss grabs one bag of it, he immediately wants another one. They end up killing more people than necessary by fighting with the bear to grab the drugs, and it's never enough. Symbolism 101.

I did not like this film actually and I am low key dissapointed.
I felt that the film tries way too hard to get the audience emotionally invested and all though there were a lot of hilarious moments in the film a big portion of the comedy was still very very bad.
Also for some reason all though it has a runtime of around 90 minutes, it still took a looooooong time for the film to genuiely get going.

My exact feelings too. And there were a bunch of people in the theatre laughing out loud too at the shock humor which I just didn’t get

i wish more movies were like cocaine bear in that its not marvel or dc giving us uninteresting superhero movies that I just watch them to watch them. I was really exited for cocaine bear with their ads not being too reveling of the movie and the fact they advertised the movie on youtube was just amazing and should be done more. But the movie does have its flaws and I agree with your points. But I like what direction movies have been moving towards and hope there are more movies like cocaine bear.

I hated the ending since these people have known Syd for like 30 seconds and already they’re shouting lines like “you’re a terrible father” and the movie just assumes you think he’s the bad guy too, even though I don’t understand what Syd did wrong. If anything the bear was the villain and should have died at the end of the movie, but instead we get this cinematic Marvel shot of the 3 bears that screams “heck yeah we’re a family”
