With practically every big movie in theatres being a part of some massive cinematic universe or franchise, moviegoers have expressed a craving for new, original ideas to hit the big screen. Well their prayers have been answered, in the form of a big ol’ bear doing cocaine and attacking people.
Cocaine Bear definitely raises some questions. Like how did this movie get greenlit? Why are there so many intricate human plotlines in a movie about a bear doing cocaine? Why did the bear spare those kids? HOW WAS THIS MOVIE GREENLIT!

Looking at that CGI, I have a hard time believing it cost money.
I think between "Viagra dolphin", "give me the bear" and the interaction after "bearly an inconvenience" I laughed more at this than any previous pitch meeting.

I really hoped the episode would end there, just awkward silence and nothing else.
The awkward silence while Producer glares and Writer waits for the reaction to his pun was just perfect.
Love how the writer had probably the same reaction as everyone else when he found out this was actually gonna be a real movie, he could bearly believe it

Yep, you have to picture him right around the 100th, maybe the 150th time of repeating the same catchphrase he might have thought about giving up. But no, he persevered and gave us this glorious pun. Ryan is a legend!

Significant portions of this film were filmed in the Republic of Ireland. I know this because, one day while visiting a place called powerscourt waterfall in county wicklow, we saw a film crew and a fake ranger station and a big sign saying "Georgia State Park". I strolled over to one of the crew and asked him what was being made, and he said "a film called Cocaine Bear", and I seriously thought he was joking. Then I figured that was just a working title that would get changed before release.
In case you were wondering, they were filming the bit where the ambulance pulls up to the ranger station

that "bearly an inconvenience" was super obvious, but you made it work with producer guy's reaction, that's why you're one of the best at running jokes
Absolutely love that the Scriptwriter Guy was so giddy with excitement at the BEAR-LY AN INCONVENIENCE joke and the Producer Guy was so ashamed to admit that it was a really good pun

The first minute of that episode is among the best I've seen from this show. The viagra dolphin, the dead real bear, the marijuana bear, all perfect jokes, back to back, just... so good, man, so good!

Funny thing is, it's accurate to the movie. Watching writer guy go at length about the human characters sums up the amount of screentime the bear has in the movie. All the bear stuff is gold but whenever the movie pulls away from him too long it drags like a MF.
Laughed uncontrollably out loud at the moment he didn't hesitate to blurt "Viagra dolphin". Epic.

seriously outdone yourself, this is one of my favorite of all time. the 'barely an inconvenience' was always typically my favorite line, but that catch line really that paid off lol

That "Where's the bear?" joke went on for what would normally be wayyy too long but Ryan is awesome so it was fantastic and I'm still laughing!
I think it works at the length it is because the growing annoyance in punctuated with moments he's absolutely befuddled instead.

I think the joke going on wayyy too long is kind of the point, too - since the movie goes on wayyy too long before the bear is in it...
It went on exactly as long as it needed to because that's precisely how it felt waiting for the bear to show up again.
Would just like to point out how excellent the acting is for 0:25 - 0:29. The cutoff, hesitation, and then slow change of expression as he considers it and finds it to be horrifying. 🤣
As a punman myself, my neck craned skyward at 'BEAR-ly an inconvenience' as I thought about my entire life and why I am what I am for what felt like ages, and I snapped back in perfect sync with Ryan, because yes, that was really good

"Bear-ly an inconvenience" is the second funniest moment in pitch meeting history. The first is the face screen writer guy makes right after it.
It is o n par with the buzz lightyear paradox reveal which actually made the pitch guy come to his senses and wanted to cancel the script 😂😂
As someone who has watched every single pitch meeting a *bear* minimum of 5 times, I can confidently say that this was one of the best ones.

Definitely one of the best Pitch Meetings in a while! The Viagra Dolphin being immensely more terrifying than cocaine bear is so imaginative that I still laugh about it whenever I think of it. Coupled with the long awkward pause after BEARly an inconvenience and producer guy begging for more cocaine bear had me laughing throughout. Good job Ryan, thank you!

Ryan, your timing really is impeccable. I can't remember who said it, but a famous comedian relayed a story where he had an older comedian tell him, "You do something funny and keep doing it until it isn't funny anymore, then keep doing until it's funny again." You nailed that with the pause after the pun. And then tossing in the exact opposite line that we were expecting was just 🤌. Keep 'em coming, man

No word of a lie: the very first moment I found out about the existence of COCAINE BEAR (and with it, its premise), I was giddy with excitement at the hope that it would one day show up in a Pitch Meeting. And you have exceeded my wildest expectations. This was FANTASTIC.

Nah, just means you have standards. Much better to spend an enjoyable 5 minutes or so on a funny video instead of wasting a couple hours on an extremely bad movie! Plus, of course, nothing says you CAN'T see the movie afterward. I mean, just cause I don't think I have done it doesn't mean it isn't possible...or so I think.
The movie was alot of fun though. Watch it with friends who are willing to get on a ridiculous ride. It's so over-the-top.
