    Good video thanks. Do you physically drag the tip against the metal when cutting or stand off a hair after tapping to begin cutting?

      +James McCorkle thanks! You stand off a hair. However there are drag tips for most types of plasma cutters that can be used that way.

    Do you need a Pacific air compression I can’t get mine to work.. it won’t spark or anything it’s brand new

    • @ChaosGarage
      @ChaosGarage  4 года назад +1

      Lotos' website says you recommends 3.6scfm @ 65psi. So if you have a compressor that can handle that then air flow isn't the problem. I run mine around 70psi because that's where I originally set it and it's worked great.

    Not an exciting vid but honest I think..appreciate the insight. Nice detail with the consumables too ! Considering this machine for occasional use maybe twice a month light use. Is it still doing OK for ya' ?

      @ChaosGarage  4 года назад

      Oh yeah still rocking along doing whatever I need it to do. It's been great...even after accidentally knocking it off the table.

      @@ChaosGarage did the wand fall off the table or the whole unit.. the unit didnt look scratched, let alone dented.. so thinking it was the wand (torch) that fell. Still at least it survived ! thanks for the reply..in advance : -) Having a tough time picking a unit..

      I had it sitting on the metal table in the shop too close to the edge. I was on the other side of the table hammering on something in the vice and the whole unit vibrated off the table and hit the concrete. Luckily it didn't hit at a bad angle and just crunched a corner a little bit. If you are interested see the plasma cutter cart video for the damage ruclips.net/video/kGjqinenC78/видео.html

      @@ChaosGarage Thank you ! I did watch the plasma cutter cart vid now, and hit the like. I think it was lucky to survive seeing I have seen the inside on another video on YT and there are some heavy items on the pcb's and wow it survived ! Cool and thank you! Might get one of these ! Keep the vids comin'

    Good review . I’ve a workshop I want to buy a machine for cutting
    I cut 10-15mm iron
    3-6mm aluminum etc
    What is recommendations? Is the lotos plasma good? Or is there a better than lotos?

    • @ChaosGarage
      @ChaosGarage  6 лет назад +1

      15mm is getting pretty close to the rated max (16mm) of this machine. It will cut up to 3/4" (19mm) or more but it won't be pretty and would take a good bit of clean up. I haven't cut anything much bigger than 10mm so I'm not sure how it would act with thicker stuff. For that thick I would probably step up to at least a 60 amp model from Lotos or another brand like Everlast.

    Good review on the plasma cutter! Some people forget that the quality of the torch is just as important as the cutter itself.

      You're welcome! I don't use it very often but even after falling off the table (my fault) it still runs just fine.

    Cool video. Those cutters are getting better priced these days eh?

    • @ChaosGarage
      @ChaosGarage  7 лет назад

      Indeed! I think the Chinese components have been getting better over the past few years. I am sure just to stay competitive with the rest of the world. 10 or 15 years ago I wouldn't have even thought twice about turning down a Chinese machine like this but it was a barter deal for moving my parents to the coast and works like a champ for what I use it for. I have a lot more projects that I will use it on. Thanks for checking out the video!

      @@ChaosGarage I replaced torch head with a cut 50 head because consumables for lotos are too high priced and cut 50 look the same but wont fit in lotos one, the air hose going to torch head sprung a leak so I replace entire torch and hose with a cut 50 one, its a 2 pin but the lotos 3 pin only uses 2 pins so I replaced plug in machine with a 2 pin one so any further replacements $25-30 instead of $100 .

    What amperage breaker is required for this machine?

    • @ChaosGarage
      @ChaosGarage  6 лет назад +1

      For 220 volt it requires at least a 20 amp breaker...I run it off a 30amp in the shop with my welder. For 110v the manufacturer says 40amp but typically the highest I see for 110v service is 20amp breakers. You're not going to want to cut with it turned all the way up with 110v anyway. The machine runs much better with 220v.

      Thanks for the info. I have a 220v 30amp circuit in my garage and was hoping it would work.
