If you choose to roleplay good and caring, you'll see how soft he can whisper (for example, in the quest where you save a woman from a psycho-hospital), otherwise, how angry and annoyed he can sound (f.e., letting Johnny down). how happily he jokes around Panam or Blue Moon. how he can't hide his despair at Vik's after the Heist. how he scares the bandits showing who's boss. his perfomance GREAT, and, moreover, it was Gavin's first large VA job, when Cherami's already had a big roles
Because they're all simps. It was the same with Mass Effect when Shepard was around. Everyone was just talking how the Male VA sucked and the Female was the best ever.
Male Shepard did suck. Mark got better with every game but he was still nowhere on the same level as Jennifer. Male V on the other hand is 100x better then male Shep. He doesn't sound like hes reading off a script with barely any or no emotion at all. If that truly was his first large VA job then he nailed male V
@@Evilshtt353 Both male and female Shepard's kinda sucked at first and got better over time. I prefer male Shep but even if someone doesn't, i don't think the difference is that great. Saying "nowhere near" it's not true at all.
To be fair, this ending, especially when you sign the papers is something that'd be most probable to see in a cyberpunk genre. Bad and depressing, but in a good way.
But if V doesn't sign the papers, then it will be a much more correct ending in relation to Johnny and whole plot, if you play as a nomad and save Takemura earlier. Why it`s correct? V drove Johnny out of his mind, because he wanted to try to survive. You might think that this is sneaky, but.. he took this path (in my walkthrough) so as not to risk peoples and Panam and, in which case, sacrifice yourself. It`s not known if Johnny is actually Johnny (this question runs throughout the game) - or - a mediocre copy of a real person, as in the case of Jackie (if you send his body to Victor). Johnny was probably some kind of "rough draft" for Arasaka in their quest for immortality, but all they could do was a slightly "smarter" copy of the real Saburo and insert it into Yorinobu's body. Saburo didn`t save his soul, just as Silverhand didn`t. So why would V, albeit "half-life" guy, indulge a long-dead rocker and risk other people? He has already paid tribute to him by allowing him to use his body, again play some tracks with SAMURAI and revenge for him to Smasher. If he's real, then he's got enough. Enough for dead. This is V's body. This is what V will say to Takemura if he doesn't sell his soul: V: One thing you never understood and never will. Takemura: What is that? V: Got no idea how sweet it is to be free. Shortly before removing Johnny's construct from V, he says that you must be true to THE PRINCIPLES. And in this case, V remained true to himself - although he dies and all chances to live have already been exhausted - freedom is much more expensive for him as a nomad. He will live only 6 months, but he will live it as a free man, surrounded by Panam and friends. Bitter but beautiful ending, ambiguous from all sides.. In my case, the most interesting plot point is that I didn`t tell Johnny that I was going to a deal with Hanako, but assured him that I would call Panam for help - only after V took the pills, sat and thought about everything.. he called Hanako. And at the same time, it`s worth recalling that there are two personalities living in V. Was Johnny completely removed from consciousness or Arasaka just blurred the boundaries between consciousness and construct even more? Which person refused Takemura with deal who could have saved V`s "soul" years later? Before taking the pills, did V want to risk his friends, as the real Johnny once did in 2020s? Who hummed this song? Maybe V just.. in the modified chip and everything around is unreal? An unanswered riddles. And I love it.
@The Homelander He-he :D I wanted to write about this and decided to make a big message for two videos. Maybe for some it will smooth out the "bad" ending.
@@CookieFlash good ending is when you let johnny takeover the body and go with alt. Since tech is growing fast and johnny has a lot of time in V body, he can eventually... clone himself or get another body (robotic) and get V engram back into reality. This way they both live. I mean alt just has to make a new folder and put V into it until johnny comes back lol.

Gavin Drea did such a beautiful job with male V's voice. The way he puts on that 'tough guy' front that ends up cracking during certain scenes, the way his voice just breaks when he's talking about his fear of death. The way V sings in this scene is so utterly authentic; it's the way that everyone sings when they're by themselves and have something stuck in their head. No over the top showiness or 'singing in cursive', as I like to call it-- just an expression of love for a song that's important to him.
I find it interesting how the two genders sound so different. Female V sounds almost happy to at least be abel to go home and spend the time she has left. Male V sounds almost like he doesn't even want to go home and just wait out the time that he has left
@@akiwii9925 I wouldn't word it that way, Male V's VA is still pretty good. But Female V has a fantastic voice actor behind her, probably the best in the game, and Judy's comes a close second.
@@gracecalis5421 he's serviceable, and i don't mean to sound like im saying he's horrible, he's not. i just think a game this big should've had a better VA for one of the playable charades
@@akiwii9925 I personally think that it’s because female V wears her emotions on her shoulder while male V tries to hide his emotions that’s what I think anyway.
The only ending options I could ever consider in this game is "fuck everyone, deathwish ending" or leaving with Panam. Johnny has the right mentality, if it's all fucked, either burn it down or watch it burn down with your girl.
On my first playthrough with a male V i chose the Panam ending and blew through the game quickly not knowing I had plenty of time for side quests. My second playthrough with a female V and im slowly letting her morph into Johnny. Adopting his personality and style. And trying to build a close relationship with him to let him have my body at the end. Its a nice change of pace and its more fun. To me anyway
Which is funny since if you do all the sidequests associated with Johnny he actually comes around to a different viewpoint of thinking. And will even part on at least semi good terms with a V who goes with the Devil Ending. Though I personally prefer storming Arasaka HQ on my own and giving Johnny control of the body at the end. That way no one else that matters but V has to die.
@@spacelizard5280 Makes you wonder what his drink will be. I am guessing something with a lot of alcohol in it but that tastes smooth and goes down easy.
Most crushing ending and that's the first one I got. Made this game my top 5 of all time. Him singing this under his breath and then getting the slow version when credits rolls. A masterpiece.
This ending was so perfect for Corpo V. He gace everything to the Arasakas, and now just has to hope that they can truly save him. Honestly I think they would. V is an extremely valuable asset if they can control him. Think about how many of their top assassins tried to kill V, and stood no chance. Think about all of the damage that V did. Now think about how useful that level of mercenary would be to Arasaka when they need to deal with rival companies and such. I think they'd just keep him in that mind prison until they find a way to make sure they can control him. It isn't a happy ending, but it's perfect. They kept their end of the deal by saving V, but now he's owned by them, and has to do whatever they want to stay alive.
Yeah this is what happened to Smasher. He was dying and Arasaka told them if he 100% cyborged out they could save him. So he gave up all his flesh which gave up all his humanity or what was left of it that night city didn't steal already. The difference between Smasher and V is that V still was empathetic to a point and compassionate to a point. Night City hadn't completely destroyed V yet. So they were still a decent person. Where as many people give up parts of their humanity to survive in night city.
For me, best Corpo V ending is the Panam one. You start out in a cruel and solitary world of sharks ready to cannibalize you at every corner, and are willing to do the same to others just to climb the corporate ladder. Through a shit ton of death and glory, V emerges victorious is more alive than ever, even if the chip is bound to kill you in a few months. You finally leave Night City and all your demons behind, ready to live life all you can with your new family and a significant other. I think if Jackie knew of this ending, he'd be very happy if V chose it. True, Jackie wanted to be a NC Legend but I think he'd also love it for his best friend and companion to finally find his true family. The one he chose himself. A happy ending if I say so myself.
Male V happens to be my favourite, there's just something more genuine, a raw emotion behind the voice, that the female one doesn't have, Female V sounds like a voice actor, male V sounds like a dude down on his luck, trying to keep together what little of his life is left. Female V is much lighter, a real "Fuck the world, I'm gonna make the most of the hell I've been given" and male V is "I'm crumbling in this hell I've been given, but I have no choice but to walk along till it fades away." Male V is more nihilistic and I can really understand that feeling, it's just the tone he has. He and Johnny really are alike, minus the charisma, and impressive cock.
i wouldn't say him and Johnny are alike to much , the whole point of Johnny's character is that his nihilistic is a façade and a act , he wasn't a asshole because he was a nihilist Johnny was a asshole cause he is just a bad person who hated himself just as much as he hated corpo, hence why when Johnny does open up to V like during the start of act 3 or when you see the guy playing guitar in japan town , Johnny loved the world and had hoped what he did in 2023 was gonna change something, Johnny isn't a nihilist in 2077 he is just a broken man who sees that he lived a life that meant nothing and died achieving nothing that's why being in V's body is such a big thing for him its his once chance to make a difference to be a good man you see it most in the ending where V lets him attack with rouge
The voice actor of V did a great job, the male V transmits that feeling of gang member but in moments of seriousness it gives you a strange, melancholic calm I have not heard V in feminine but I hope and it is
Fem V i feel is pretty good at showing outwards desperation and struggle, she genuinely is able to use voicecracks effectively in some sad scenes too, overall Fem V is just more emotive than Male V but they're both pretty great
People don't seem to understand that there is no good ending. The real V dies no matter what you do, what is left is just an AI simulating V in a corpse.
he has 6months, Panam said she knows some people. Mr Blue Eyes can help him as well because this is in lore of cyberpunk. I think they will continue his story
@@FireJach They won't and they can't. You really think they are making a big DLC that builds up on one of the possible endings? They will add more storylines inbetween but (as they said themselves) V's fate is told.
It's not about the voice. It's about the fact that Johnny's been so long in V's head that even with Johnny out V lost parto of himself/herself and is damaged beyond repair. It's heartbreaking, tragic and sad. So sad, in fact, that after hearing this I truly consider the suicide ending to be one of the better options.
Really wanna do the suicide ending to platinum the game but my brother committed suicide and I'm so afraid to see it and experience the ending clips of people talking when the credits roll but I think the suicide ending in this story is very suitable to Night City. after watching the anime I don't understand how more people haven't checked themselves out.
Well it’s not that more surviving at least in the game. If you survive the onslaught then the ending is actually pretty awesome. Very sorry to hear that
@@Zireling If you wanna just platinum the game, just press the options with the sound off and minimize the game until credits are over.I don't know you, but you might get a minor panic attack from the calls if even the thought of the ending is that uncomfortable... :P

imo the tank over the lake ending is the best one, as long as you did all you could to honor johnny. Sending him to alt was hard man, least maybe his engram will be stored by alt?
V could actually survive through the 6 Months if he pulls off the Crystal Palace Job , Mr B promised to help him if V manages This is from the Wiki: "V made it clear that they had nothing else to lose, as this was a very dangerous operation which no one had ever done before, but expected Mr. B would hold his side of the bargain, whom assured the merc that he understood they were fighting FOR A CHANCE FOR SURVIVAL and would help them if they succeeded with the job" And keep in mind that Mr.B is waaaay higher than you think , so high that there is only rumors about him , this Mr.B guy could hold more power than Arasaka as a whole.
By the same token, he could also be using V just like many of the other immensely powerful figureheads do. Or have some caveat to that survival that might make the decision less desirable. Either way, I'm pretty excited for the chance of another adventure with V. Especially if it gets us the opportunity to scratch more of the deeper surface of what goes on in the world.
My guesses: Mr. B is just a puppet body for an AI, and they're sending him up to rob cloning/robotics tech to perform engram transference. The AI's want their own bodies, now.
This is why media literacy should be taught in schools. The whole theme of the story is about the inevitability of death, how no matter what they do, V already died, the only way for them to live on is either as a Night City legend or by literally selling their soul to Arasaka. Now tell me, why the hell would the writers make endings in which V does get to live? That would defeat the whole thesis of the plot
I think male v as a street kid is perfection. He has a deep and scrappy voice that fits a person who lived in the streets and grew up constantly looking for work while watching his back making sure a gun or a knife won’t be pressed on him. He sounds tired but ready to fight any second. Female V imo is perfect as a corporate. Her voice just has so much emotion and she perfectly shifts her voice. Both actors did a great job and the game wouldn’t be any better without these two being our POV for night city.
Gotta agree, the Corpo talks just doesn't feel as clever or authentic with Male V, Female V sounds more smug and casual which really shows how she's actually been in the biz for quite a while

Male V doesn’t get enough credit for his voice like fem V does and it shows when CDPR will only use Fem V for every trailer or teaser since the games release, even going as far as making fem v the title of both the next gen game cover and phantom liberty cover. A lot of companies do this simply because they think using woman only shows representation but when it comes down to a voice acting perspective in this case it’s unfair, both VAs did such a good job in their own way and it’s sad to see only one of them get recognition for it.
That's not true. It was male V in every single trailer and teaser, and he was the face of the game. Female V was only in that one gameplay video from 2018. They switched to fem V for the soft relaunch, probably because a lot of people associated him with the memeable issues the game had. His voice also got a lot more criticism.

The worst ending. Like, sacrificing yourself, accepting fate and becoming an AI so at least johnny can live again- that's bittersweet. Living out your final months pursuing new glory has a faint hope that you might find a solution- a way to survive, even as you push those close to you away, bittersweet. Accepting your fate, living out your final days with your clan, your family, Bittersweet. But the arasaka ending literally sees V lobotomised and abandoned or imprisoned (in a digital blacksite that subtly alters your personality to twist you into someone who benefits the megacorp) after betraying johnny and giving the evil mega-corp everything they wanted. Let's face it, V acts.... "off" once the chip has been removed. I think the Saka corp removing the chip seriously fucks you up. You have spent the whole game becoming irreversibly bonded to it, and then they just cut it out?. Removing the relic gives V brain damage. It's why you can't solve the cube. Saka's docs are good enough to take the relic out without instantly killing V, but it's obvious that if V's Survival was the goal- they really shouldn't have removed it. You and Johnny aren't two people sharing a body by the time the game ends, you are one person with two personalities. The lines between you are indistinct, smudged, and blurred. When they remove the chip, a part of you gets cut out with it. They wanted the relic to bring back their emperor. They never gave a shit about you. I LOVE this ending. It's exactly what a player who has gone through this entire game and still tries to align with the Corpos deserves. To be exploited and discarded by a system that only cares for profit.
Absolutely. Fuck Arosaka. Johnny was looking out for you when he told you not to align with Makako and when he was telling you to go back to your body and live out your days with Pan Am. Misty's tarot reading during the credits implies that they may have found a way to save him. Though the nature of everything being a voicemail may imply the opposite...
This in my opinion is the saddest ending. It's totally fucked up. I got it on my first playthrough. I played the game how I believed I would have reacted to the situation if I were in V's shoes. I wouldn't want Johnny in my head so this was the path I took. Then... he was gone and I was just there.... I immediately felt like shit but also it's the path that I decided for myself.
This is the least "approved by Johnny" ending. The one where V erases Johnny, still ends up as an engram, but also loses a body, while being promised to get revived later.
I Watched the edgerunners anime first and I cried then played the game and cried even more. For all the hate this game gets, the story is definitely one of my favorites.
Even if you choose to save V at the end of any of the endings hes/shes still dead. After the junkyard incident you're just a copy of his/her mind in a meat puppet. You basically end up like johnny.
@@sharkbait1228 yeah, pretty much. And if that don't convince ya, at the end when you meet ALT to remove Johnny she tells you that in order to do so she had to basically kill you, download your conscious onto the chip and put it back into your body.
@@doyouremebervodka9387 In every end soulkiller is used on V. That pretty much makes her/him just a fading shadow in a body if you chose to keep the body. Your soul might still be killed but the crystal palace might hold smth like a chance to survive at all.
This doesnt make sense, why would Johnny be able to use the body indiffently and V cant if they are both constructs? or why didnt he get the nausea from the Relic malfunctions if he was a contruct like V even when controlling his body? V was alive like everyone says, the Nanobots repaired his brain but also started to invade it. The thing is if his brain is fully consumed he will die for good and Johnny will get his body, but after ALT uses Soulkiller on V he does "kill" the real V and copy him into his own body(if you choose so) which now is a host for Johnnys mind and will kill Vs in about 6 months. If your theory was right, V and Johnny would simply change places over time as Vs construct would still be in the Relic
I finished the game with both sex. Male V made everything badass even when it wasn’t suppose to and I loved that, it gave me a good vibe and seeing him and Johnny being bros was awesome. I personally thing the best ending is male V going through arasaka with Johnny and than giving his body to him. Showing that when V said he’d take a bullet for him he wasn’t joking. Johnny is grateful and won’t waste his second chance at life. And with Female V it felt like a game with more emotions. When she gets close to someone like Judy, panam, the cop(I forgor💀) and etc she shows emotions clearly. She flirts a lot lmao. I loved seeing the relationships in the game with her. In my opinion, they give different but still awesome experiences.
I think if Goro's alive, he'll make sure V gets a body asap. Otherwise yea, Arasaka prob just forgets about them. I don't really see this ending as V dying since by that reasoning V is dead after being killed by Dex or after being Soulkilled.
i think the beautiful thing about this game is the realization that no matter what. V will die. no matter what choices you made, no matter how much effort you put into fighting it. V dies. the only ending in which this doesn't happen isn't even a guaranteed situation in which V lives as he has a CHANCE of getting into a new host, not to mention the fact he sells out to the corpos in the end anyways. the entire game is about the inevitably of death and the constant hope of escaping it only to be pushed back down every single time
The way I see this scene is that V isn't really "singing" Never Fade Away. Ever tried to softly sing/whisper a rock song? Nearly impossible. This is more V paying tribute to Johnny and themselves. Depending on the way that you play V is either saying: Johnny will never fade from them and will carry him with them OR V is the thing of beauty that wont fade as long as they return to Earth and have people remember them.
My first play through got the sun ending, and it’s the most canon for my V I’m too depressed to do the Suicide or Devil ending because I don’t like seeing V, Johnny or the rest of the chooms in pain. But if it’s my inflicting pain (Don’t fear the reaper) then bring it on

You are not wrong. At the end of the day, what is “soul”? If you think that V during gameplay and V in this ending are drastically different, you are dead wrong. V died from a head wound. She got revived by said chip creating a copy (so called “construct”) of her and feeding it back into suitable body - but this time with Johnny on the sidelines as well. Soul/consciousness is hence just a collection of data. A very complex collection of data, but is such nonetheless. So, yes, I agree. There is nothing wrong there ultimately with just embracing such state of things. V becoming a construct is as beautiful as that “Robot” cloning himself in “Invincible”. It is not perfect, but truly beautiful nonetheless.
Because people don’t like something that does not meet their expectations. They expect a happy ending where there is no perfect ending. Technically speaking, V died from a gunshot wound to the heat at the beginning of the game. Devs confined it. Then relic revived the dying body and re-inserted the (copy of) personality back. This is “Theseus ship” situation, and V does either way. Only real question is how.
I don’t think you understand the context of how this is supposed to be V creating a very human distraction, trying to feel some catharsis for the circumstance they have wound up in. You guys are judging this like it’s a performance…. absolutely fucking gonk.

This is what V will say to Takemura if he doesn't sell his soul:
V: One thing you never understood and never will.
@The Homelander He-he :D
I wanted to write about this and decided to make a big message for two videos.

That's because male v regrets erasing Johhny from his mind, so he feels dead inside.
@@MrAriel4444 nah. male v just has a worse VA

So much love for Gavin Drea's performance as Male V. He rocks!
I also like letting Johnny have the body. He doesn’t deserve it, but he’s become a better person in that ending and will live honoring V’s memory

If you think that endings crushing you outta not play the new DLC lol oof
This ending was so perfect for Corpo V. He gace everything to the Arasakas, and now just has to hope that they can truly save him. Honestly I think they would. V is an extremely valuable asset if they can control him. Think about how many of their top assassins tried to kill V, and stood no chance. Think about all of the damage that V did. Now think about how useful that level of mercenary would be to Arasaka when they need to deal with rival companies and such. I think they'd just keep him in that mind prison until they find a way to make sure they can control him. It isn't a happy ending, but it's perfect. They kept their end of the deal by saving V, but now he's owned by them, and has to do whatever they want to stay alive.
v might replace smasher, think about how smasher gave up his humanity
A man chooses. A slave obeys.

Male V happens to be my favourite, there's just something more genuine, a raw emotion behind the voice, that the female one doesn't have, Female V sounds like a voice actor, male V sounds like a dude down on his luck, trying to keep together what little of his life is left. Female V is much lighter, a real "Fuck the world, I'm gonna make the most of the hell I've been given" and male V is "I'm crumbling in this hell I've been given, but I have no choice but to walk along till it fades away."
Male V is more nihilistic and I can really understand that feeling, it's just the tone he has.

V could actually survive through the 6 Months if he pulls off the Crystal Palace Job , Mr B promised to help him if V manages
This is from the Wiki:
"V made it clear that they had nothing else to lose, as this was a very dangerous operation which no one had ever done before, but expected Mr. B would hold his side of the bargain, whom assured the merc that he understood they were fighting FOR A CHANCE FOR SURVIVAL and would help them if they succeeded with the job"
And keep in mind that Mr.B is waaaay higher than you think , so high that there is only rumors about him , this Mr.B guy could hold more power than Arasaka as a whole.

A doomed soul, certain to fade, singing the lyrics to signify he doesn't want to go... damn
Still the most interesting ending in the game. It felt so surreal.
This ending scared the hell out of me because of how the tests aren't for the real V, but for the AI version that's hosting the body after Mikoshi.

@@sharkbait1228 yeah, pretty much. And if that don't convince ya, at the end when you meet ALT to remove Johnny she tells you that in order to do so she had to basically kill you, download your conscious onto the chip and put it back into your body.

If your theory was right, V and Johnny would simply change places over time as Vs construct would still be in the Relic
every ending brought me to tears
the only ending that makes you feel everything you'd been mattered is the one with Panam and the nomads

V dies. the only ending in which this doesn't happen isn't even a guaranteed situation in which V lives as he has a CHANCE of getting into a new host, not to mention the fact he sells out to the corpos in the end anyways. the entire game is about the inevitably of death and the constant hope of escaping it only to be pushed back down every single time
My first ending... It made me so sad.
I could've sworn this also happens with a different scene as well, maybe not Never Fade Away, but it was V singing or humming a song
Do you think he got that from Johnny’s memories?
or the radio
even in the devil ending V misses Johnny, Legends never die🤟
The way I see this scene is that V isn't really "singing" Never Fade Away. Ever tried to softly sing/whisper a rock song? Nearly impossible. This is more V paying tribute to Johnny and themselves. Depending on the way that you play V is either saying: Johnny will never fade from them and will carry him with them OR V is the thing of beauty that wont fade as long as they return to Earth and have people remember them.
He's probably singing it because he's tired of seeing all of his friends glitch out existence
My first play through got the sun ending, and it’s the most canon for my V I’m too depressed to do the Suicide or Devil ending because I don’t like seeing V, Johnny or the rest of the chooms in pain. But if it’s my inflicting pain (Don’t fear the reaper) then bring it on

@@the_quadracorn shit was badass wasn't it?
@@IYK3 Party like it's 2023. I was disappointed that the ending is the same as the Path of Glory ending except with Rogue hanging around. Only found out about that because of other people telling me so now I know that the original Sun ending sees her die
it’s beautiful, i cried.
I really cried when I reached this ending. It was so sad and cool at the same time. Playing female V made it so much better
That view from the station down to earth is really to die for.
best song in the game
Love both V’s but female V takes the cake for me, i have played multiple times and the voice acting of the female V is just so much better, but male V is soo good too its close comparison
I would totally sign it. i mean, being an immortal and wake again in the far future? yooooo that would be cool to see right?
It is not perfect, but truly beautiful nonetheless.
why are people hating lmao
Because people don’t like something that does not meet their expectations.
They expect a happy ending where there is no perfect ending.
Technically speaking, V died from a gunshot wound to the heat at the beginning of the game.
Devs confined it.
Then relic revived the dying body and re-inserted the (copy of) personality back.
This is “Theseus ship” situation, and V does either way. Only real question is how.
man really just said “🧍♂”
I don’t think you understand the context of how this is supposed to be V creating a very human distraction, trying to feel some catharsis for the circumstance they have wound up in. You guys are judging this like it’s a performance…. absolutely fucking gonk.
yeeeeeeah ....so maybe don't give up the day job V
i think its fully possible for the star or the mr b endings to converge at a single point. perhaps you go to Arizona work a few gigs and get in contact with Mr B to still do the same crystal palace ending
dude as my first ending this was devastating.
Same, I didn't recover yet
Bruh V’s males voice actor is superior
Thats depressing
Big part of cp77 endings is depressed af..
But my fav is the new dawn fades, i had cried on it for 20 minutes lol
@@alexandersovyonok1341 that one was tough same here too
@@alexandersovyonok1341 It took me way to long to realize that so many of the quest names are references to songs.
I think its mostly the fact people hate male v singing because female v hit those bars really nice
