    another cheese strat is to putt up a reinforced trench 2 lines ahead of your actual line, then the AI will bombard it and its "far" enough away from your line for the shells to hit your real line, and if its reinforced the unit actually survives to retreat and you just putt a new unit inn. With this early game the machinegun enplacements actually works amazing, late game you already got enough stuff to not need it.

    I play german with gas and it is working fine too especially when you get behind the enemy. Gas gets them out of trenches and you can just shoot them in the open field with no morale. It is expensive but I need to deploy only 2-3 artillery pieces per battle.

    I recently finished my first campaign. This was a fantastic video with lots of very helpful advice. Your focus on planes was interesting, I focussed very heavily on siege artillery so I didn’t actually realise the other non-infantry map-pieces gave supply. That’ll be very useful for the future, thank you!

    Spam of heavy artillery is meta in early game, but when tanks appear they can just carry you so well, I was playing an elite Germany run and I started well, but I started losing bad, from mid-1914 to mid-1916 they even managed to take a tile away, then i got tanks, i have taken 3 of their tiles and rn I'm unstoppable, but i have 190 of NW and they have 243 so they Americans are probably arriving; we see how that goes

    I do the exact contrary on the trenches
    I stack everything on both side (The ai never attack the center first) with just a little travel way to let everyone change side at the first offensive
    And i put a lot of connection between my trench to reinforce every trench battle (You lose 40 points when you lose a trench that's a lot)
    The ai doesn't use really well the travel trench and end up coming out of the trenches to get killed anyway

    • @projectunknown5159
      @projectunknown5159 Год назад

      I think all trenches(expect bunker) are designed to hold up to 2 groups of unit at one time. The pathfinding ai would automatically send men out of trench if the connecting trench is blocked(due to melee fighting or overcrowded), which may also cause a bug when opposite units using the same travel trench and make it overcrowded, causing the mass point of the unit lost to nowhere and the unit become "invisible"。

    • @godspeedthunder
      @godspeedthunder  Год назад +1

      yeah youve really got to be careful not to run towards an enemy who is also running towards you or else you will get stuck and even if you try to retreat back to the trench that you came from your men will leave the trench.

      Light artillery is good for suppression and heavy artillery is good for killing stuff. I recommend using light artillery on trenches and mg's during assaults, and save the heavy artillery for when you need to take something out. Thats been working well for me so far

    • @projectunknown5159
      @projectunknown5159 Год назад +1

      @@godspeedthunder I think all range attacks in the games apply to every model while melee combat only apply to the mass point of a group. To maximum heavy artillery damage the target area should be placed at left and right side of the trench instead of the middle, since a bombardment in the middle would leave left or right side men alive.
      Two bombardment at one time are enough to kill 80% models of a rifleman squad who stays in an enhanced trench.

    I've been playing and using different research paths and rushes, but I'm going to incorporate some of this info I didn't think about. But, my question is, which research do you focus first? It certainly seems like you'll need a ton of supply for some of the things you like to use, right?

    • @godspeedthunder
      @godspeedthunder  Год назад

      each air wing gives you 100 free supply every time you use it so if you doomstack the planes then you get a ton of free supply. much more efficient than using global supply.

    • @jaket8947
      @jaket8947 Год назад

      @@godspeedthunder Right, do you just rush into the entire air tree then for all the added research as well, or spread it out?

    • @godspeedthunder
      @godspeedthunder  Год назад +4

      well i rushed a lot of it but its not really necessary. all you really need out of it is the harassment planes and then you can ignore the rest if you like.
      so if i was in "try hard mode" my research path would be-
      fighters
      bombers
      harassment
      improved helmets
      improved sights
      3x cash grants
      3x volunteer corps

      @godspeedthunder  Год назад

      a lot of the info in this vid is outdated since the latest patch.
      also it depends on your playstyle and objectives (as well as difficulty setting). if you want to get great victories then you only really want to be fighting against 2 corps max, 3 if youre feeling brave. and when facing such an opponent you only really need 4 corps yourself (plus a supply depot now instead of the planes).
      if you want to win via national will then you can just defend and spread your corps around evenly.

      raiders are just good at trench melee, especially bunker clearing.
      flame units are just bad, they never manage to fire and get folded in melee. they do lots of damage if they actually are able to attack, but most of the time they will just jump in the trench and die.

    • @godspeedthunder
      @godspeedthunder  Год назад

      i tested this in one vid and the raiders are worse than standard infantry in melee. the only thing they excel at is killing tanks, but getting them in position isnt easy. you rely on the enmy tank driving straight towards you and then running your raider through a trench network towards them.
      its nice when it works but i wouldnt rely on it.

    • @projectunknown5159
      @projectunknown5159 Год назад

      @@godspeedthunder Elite Units are seemed to have less hp than a infantry squadron since they have less models. And though they can fire on open field. They can not throw grenades or pour flame into a trench with melee combat, which is locked up. The pathfinding also tend to throw troops into melee combat if they are close to an occupied enemy trench even if they are direct to stay outside, which causes another pathfinding bug when you try to throw your man to 2 lines of trench and all units may stuck in the front trench.
      The best way to use raiders or flame troops is positioning them on open field near (travel) trenches which AI would use to move its forces to counterattack the trenches occupied by your force and keep them covered from range attacks(somke or constant barrages). Then watching them blow counter-attackers sky high.
