Alamat is the most ethnically diversed Filipino group in the PPop industry. They make it a point to always include several Filipino languages in their songs, traditional ethnic clothing and dances which is always a nice touch.

They infuse a lot of Filipino culture in their music and music videos. Each member represents a different area of the Philippines and their lyrics often are in their different respective languages. They also wear traditional clothing (sometimes interpreted in a modern way) in their MVs, like the ones when they were dancing in the water. This song has a Magindara, or Sirena, a mythological sea creature (mermaid) that lures fishermen into the sea with their voice. Magindaras in traditional folk tales are quite vicious. Some parts of their dance included moves from traditional Philippines folk dances.
Try watching their MVs for Gayuma and Aswang. Plus, their Wish Bus performance of ILY ILY.
Gayuma means "love spell/potion".
Aswang are monsters, various shape-shifting evil creatures.
ILY ILY is from the perspective of the children left behind in the Philippines while their parents work overseas. Sometimes, they don't see each other for years.
One Alamat song is "Gayuma" that the group members provided the lyrics. Their MV has english subtitles.
Their thriller song is "Aswang" worth a look.
Alamat has more of the rnb sound to them. Their song 'say you love me' is their most rnb song. But they also do have different genres in their album. And yeah they're only ppop group who heavily incorporates the traditions and culture of the Philippines in their song and music videos. They also use different local languages in a lot of their songs respective of the regions they come from. Do check out 'Ily-ily'.

Alamat has more of an R & B soul as well. Choreo and costumes tend to be inclusive to Filipino culture. Mo (the one in braids) is half Filipino/ half black. Check out "Aswang" and "Gayuma" as well. I think you would really enjoy Say You Love Me by Alamat. Try reacting to both the MV and their performance on the Wish Bus. You will appreciate their vocals! You can also react to their earlier song, Kasmala, when the group was larger. They are pretty well established now as a six member group. Also react to Aswang, Maharani and Gayuma. Thanks in advance! 6:59 This is not common knowledge even amongst Filipinos as Filipino history covered a lot of times is the Spanish-US-Japanese occupation but Pre-colonial Philippines and Southeast Asian culture in general is heavily influenced by Indian culture because of the ancient trade routes. Most tools, fabric, spices, way of living, and even early religion & government systems were just a variation of Indian culture.

Alamat is not as hype as SB19 which you guys like it more. Alamat is more RNB with cultural references on their music. You only saw the surface of them and most of their songs are so catchy and lot of adlibs, check more of them they also do ballads too. They are amazing on live performance.
Several of their songs are rnb leaning, but for a harder hitting rnb song of theirs, Say U Love Me is their song to hear. Gayuma, Maharani, & kbye are also good rnb fusion songs :)

For me, Alamat has two further great songs: Aswang and Maharani. In both, they have a beautiful woman guesting as well. Of course Alamat is NOT YET in the same league as SB19, but they have been around 2 years versus SB19's five years, and are on the average younger.
All of their songs are great just like SB19
