The ride works fine. It doesn't break down very often at all. I operatated it for 5 years. Most times it stops it's just a wiper came out flat tyre. All the cars have individual electrical power units if 1 breaks you just replace it takes about 20 minutes to swap cars out.
It's being took out to modernise the park. As I've previously described... 🤣🤣🤣

@@coaster_dad could be anything they where the rumors though. Probs dependant on funding. Etc Mandy will be trying to get it done for free from the leveling up grant. Using the blackpool central development project as leverage.
No coincidence 5 rides in area I speak of are sbno or already gone in last few years. impossible swing, river caves GRANDPRIX wild mouse and trauma towers....

I would have liked one more go on it as i went on it with my late dad but not willing to pay that much. Bloody ridiculous.

Def expensive for what it was

I think £50 was too much. I also can't understand why they didnt close it at the end of the season ? As nowt more depressing than seeing an abandoned ride. I think it could have been modernised , larger electric cars for the whole family , landscaped better. Judging by the queues for the Radiator Springs ride at California Adventure (Disneyland) there's still a demand for this type of ride for kids of all ages including this 60 year old here ! 😊

I am curious to see what replaces it. Much though I want a big thrill ride will they replace family with thrill?

Really enjoy your videos & discussion mate. Looking forward to more, especially surrounding the Pleasure Beach as there’s just so many different topics to discuss.
Personally, I think they need to put a ‘worlds first’ in. And market it!
Knowing them though, it’ll probably be replaced with a sea food restaurant

£50 was too expensive, but the majority of companies charge what they can get away with. We were at Pleasure Beach this week and stopped at the Big Blue. It was interesting that there were vans from Roger Bullivant Limited parked at the Big Blue, and by the park, Roger Bullivant Limited is the company that built the foundations for ICON. There were also some strange banging noises coming from the park in the middle of the night. Also, the park is closed on the 9th, 15th, and 16th of July; something might commence then. I think cars from Gridprix have gone. Regarding visitor numbers, we are lucky enough to go to the UK parks midweek, and parks like Thorpe and Chessington, on many occasions, are a lot quieter than Blackpool, and Towers is stacked with school kids.

@coaster_dad I've just finished it. Theme park mad his name. They have removed stuff from the track. That's crazy. And fast but why remove that if it's all maybe gonna be rubble. Something has definitely begun. Hope Amanda has made her decision lol

@clareriley yeah watching now. I’ve seen a few of his vids. But like you say why are they removing it carefully? Seems strange. Unless they’re selling the copper to get money 😂

I was at the event and I felt £50 was a bit steep best part for me was the CRT on Icon. I was the second to last public rider on the Grand Prix as decided not to get in the que at start so managed to get in loads of rides on Icon where there was no que. The band were ok the cars were there only to advertise the company that owned them so that didn`t cost the pleasure beach to have them there. All credit to the staff the ride did break down but they had it back up and running quick enough. Apart from that it was a good night but would have been nice to hear what was coming in the future.

Yeah it’s great to get so many rides on icon but it did look like something was missing. Glad you had a good night.

They were removing the centre rail from Grand Prix yesterday. First visit in a few years. The grand national ñeeds to go. It's soooo rough I won't go on again people were in pain! Keep the other woodies no problem. Infusion looks a mess with the water level so low.lots of nuts and bolts on scaffold obviously from the big one re track near the station It's not comfortable but always looked nice. Do more with the water , fountains and lights maybe. The soundtrack pumping out.
Just other little things like the steam on icon working would help the look of the park.
Valhalla is I'm sorry to say a shadow of the ride it was. Too dark, you cannot hear the story. And the fire is almost blink and you miss it. Park closing at 5pm on a warm Saturday when most rides opened at 11 was not the greatest, but Thorpe and Alton are no better .
    Lots of little things

What's the chance that they want a new ride like top thrill 2 (through zamperla) but due to the problems with it they don't want to announce it now until zamperla have fixed tt2. It lines up where the grand prix station is to the promanade where 3 big footers were placed years ago

Too expensive for what you got. They should have also provided food and a better speech. I do think something was supposed to be said but hasnt for various reasons. IF they're was an announcement then 50 would have been worth it. Its all actually very odd. X
