i visited Blackpool pleasure beach just a month ago, and I loved it, I rode 6 roller coasters, including the Big One, for the first time, I guess it was mainly motivated by nostalgia - the last time I was there was more than 40 years ago.
Can't help but feel the current management is, sadly, running the place into the ground these days. Been a huge fan of the place for over 40 years but have never known it to feel quite to empty and joyless as it does just now. Got to at least bring back the non-rider pass even if it's a tenner and get more people through the gate spending money.
It's a catch 22 - people like to have a new ride every year to make them want to come back - that costs a lot of money whilst trying to maintain rides - there are 2 or 3 rides that could go very soon but they will need to be replaced otherwise the park will always struggle - as well as other areas of the park being improved at that same time
It's always quiet these days on off-peak times when it's cold and wet on a positive note, though you get lots of rides in, so it's one of those And I wouldn't be surprised - have to see with River Caves that could open later in the year will have to see
@@ThemeParksAndAttractions Hope it's busy in the summer better atmosphere, River Caves is puzzling me , the outside front of the Caves looks like it's closed down , there's things missing like the men , the sign, I hope it's just maintenance, it's such a iconic ride, hope it doesn't stay closed , as for Ice Blast that doesn't look like it's gonna open again .
Personally I don't think they will get rid of River Caves anytime soon - reason being - Grand Prix gone - Ice Blast has blasted off and to permanently remove River Caves, I think, would cause to much to swallow for a lot of fans out there - the other 2 I'm not bothered about personally but River Caves would be a loss to the park without replacing things - if they announced a single rail rmc for next year and for those 3 to go not a problem but who knows 😂

Supposedly there were plans to replace steeplechase at one point, to the point of having blueprints for its replacement. However I suspect that was before Nick Thompson went out of his way to convince S&S to produce the modern version, that suggest to me that they don’t want to lose steeplechase and they’re putting in contingencies in other words possibly either replacing the horses or the track or both to keep the ride/give it a new lease of life, I can’t see any other logical reason why they would encourage S&S to do that if they weren’t going to at least try to keep it going.
Over the past few years Grand Prix has been running less and less. Its probably hit or gone beyond its usefulness at the park. The area it sits in could be a nice space for a small coaster or maybe 2 larger flat rides. Depending on if avalanche goes as well. There could be plenty of space for another major coaster in the park. Along with the issues with iceblast. Revolution and possible removal or relocation of skyforce. There could be some developments happening over the next few seasons.
Grand Prix has already closed for good - a lot of rides need replacing over the next few years - but as always, it will cost the park a huge amount of money to do this
@andrewbarrett42 I can't agree on Reborn as it's the biggest disappointment I have ever had on a new coaster ever - the themeing is great - the coaster - shocking - every ride I have had on it no matter where I sit you get shake and rattle from start to finish after the first drop - the original Nemesis you could have multiple rides on it with no problems - Reborn - shake Rattle And Roll - I can't get that tune out of my head each time I ride it
@ my kids love Portaventura world. Salou! I like Alton towers, but it’s way too big for the amount of attractions in there. Pleasurebeach is way too expensive for what it is. Everywhere has its pros and cons, but Blackpool to me has being going downhill in recent years, compared to theme parks elsewhere in world. You need to add more themed areas at pb, and now, gigacoasters. We’re moving on in the world. You need to keep up, instead lining your pockets.
@DaveLinford like a bit of Salou myself - Pleasure Beach is an amusement park that's why no themed areas but yeah, new rides and updated things are needed every year not once in a blue moon
0:45 I knew River Caves was in maintenance. 😅

Great video , Love Blackpool Pleasure Beach , so sad to see the park so quiet , looks like the Ice Blast and River Caves might not open this season.😢

Blackpool has always been pretty reliable for rides. At least a few are running. 😅
River Caves, Grand Prix, and the drop tower all sbno - standing but not operating
Not the best coaster line up,give me Alton towers any day and Thorpe.
A lot of coasters just nothing on another level
@@ThemeParksAndAttractions All the coasters at Blackpool are lame,I live there.Nemesis reborn is a world class coaster. Can,t wait for Hyperia.

Blackpool's going lose the pleasure beach! They're making the same mistakes they made at Bellevue!!!!????
No its a waste of time and money
Didn't you enjoy your last visit?
No. It’s dogshit now. Way overpriced entry. Been going downhill for years!
What's your favourite park?
