i went back in time when i was 19 back in 1989 saturday oct 1989 thank you for taking me back in time and for making be a 19 all over again i was a senor back in high school and saturday mornings were totally rad with with saturday morning cartoons and your fave bowl of cereal that rocked and MTV ruled afternoons along with afternoon cartoons you could go to the movies or go roller skating on fridays and saturday nights or go the video store and rent movies for the family like our family did and i still watch 80s movies friday and saturday nights and order pizza hut pizza and go to the mall and spend the saturday there playing video games and hanging out with friends the 80s tv shows and 80s music thanks for bring those memories back with these 80s saturday morning cartoons you gave me a reason to get up on saturday monings again eat fruit loops again and watch saturday moning cartoons till noon i wish it was the 80s all over again with 80s catoons why do we have to grow up when were still kids on saturday mornings thank you im hoping that you put more 80s saturday morning cartoons with 80s commercials on here thats why i just subscribed to your 80s saturday morning cartoons with 80s commercials thank you your totally rad dude

They kept adding teen sitcoms, or that NBA show on NBC, while Fox started Power Rangers and other live action import shows. Then ABC and CBS began interrupting with either golf or some other sport.
@@JL4GL Yeah, the party shifted to UHF stations! I watched the brand new FOX and WB affiliates, and they played gems like FOX X-Men, Batman, Pokemon and a bunch of rare gems! I watched SatAM till around 2004!
According to most sources that I've read, that block was replaced by Teen NBC on September 1992.

These were some of the best times of my life as a kid! All The Nostalgia critics can say what they want! I Loved these cartoons back then! Those were very exciting times! Thank you for sharing this!

Back when Ronald Mcdonald was in commercials with kids before they had parents stand next to the kid so it won't look strange.

Watching that Kissyfur opening and all I can think is that first few seconds with the train flying off the rails into this deep pit of water only to wake up and drive a log boat on the swamp was a bad, psychedelic dream by one of the characters.
Fun fact. The same two VA's who voice Gus and Kissyfur also voiced Baloo and Kit Cloudkicker on Tailspin.
Oh yes I remember this Saturday morning cartoons lineup and I was three when it came out so basically I was a three network Saturday morning kid
Nice to see you do this kind of stuff. Unfortunately, NBC ended up being the first of the big 3 to stop airing Saturday Morning cartoons, around 1991 to 1992.

I remember this episode of the Smurfs like it was yesterday. Was it an episode or a special? Weird. This is the clearest SatAM NBC 1989 I've seen so far. I especially love the claymation bumpers! The long McDonalds commercials with full jingles are also a treat.

This is my favorite RUclips channel as well. Recently my father passed away quite unexpectedly yet when I watch these line ups I’m transported back to when I was a little kid waiting for my dad to come home from work and everything is good again. My dad worked on Saturday till noon which was about when the cartoons ended. So thanks to you just for a few hours i can feel like my dad is on his way home. I can’t thank you enough for how much comfort I find watching these. RUclips is the closest thing I’ve found to a time machine. Keep up the amazing work! I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. Please keep them coming as they are such a great source of comfort. PS Do you remember Galaxy High? It’s a great mid 80s cartoon I loved as a child.

Fall season of 89’ what a great year it was. Coming home from school on weekday afternoons to watch the Super Mario Brothers Super Show, finishing the week with SMBSS Legend Of Zelda on Friday, and finally waking up on Saturday morning for Captain N: The Game Master.
Very cool!

80's commercials can put you in a trance unlike anything else. Love this! Once I start watching, I'm sucked in and a flood of memories come through my head. This is an amazing block of commercials! It's the closest thing we have to a time machine. Thanks for the upload. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug!

It's crazy to see things from when I was lil kid and now. Kids don't know how far we have come in short time
And if you do another ABC Saturday morning it would be great to see it finish off with an abc weekend special episode with captain og readmore!!! I remember whenever that came on around 12 or 1230 you knew Saturday morning was almost over and next would be American gladiators, soul train or regional sports lol I'm 42 now and its amazing the insignificant memories that stay with you your whole life....
Yup I'm in the same age range, and LOL once noon hit I'd have to switch to the local/independent channels to watch old stuff like 3 Stooges, Gilligan, Lucy, Munsters, F Troop, or Wonderful World of Disney movies

Watching this video brought me so many memories and some things I want to say:
*I loved those bumpers from the 1989-1990 season and I clearly remember that tune. I remember watching NBC Saturday Morning cartoons from the 1990-1991 season, but I don't remember the bumpers at all which did change.
*The quality of animation and audio for the second season of Kissyfur really went down compared to the first season.
*I used to think that "Captain N: The Game Master" was the coolest thing ever. Now it think it looks so cheesy and badly animated.
Even Papa was hitting on Smurfette.

Do you happen to still have any full Alvin and the Chipmunks episodes recorded from 1989? There's one episode in particular that I'm looking for. It's called "The Princess and the Pig" and is currently lost media. According to wikipedia, it aired on December, 2, 1989. It aired alongside "The Return of Uncle Adventure", which has been found. But no recordings of this specific episode have been found anywhere in English. I'd love to be able to add it to my archive.

@@MoneMedia because each market did there own thing when it came to what shows where on. Like I remember a Sunday block of shows that was in syndication during the 80’s. Then you had the He-Man block once She-Ra was introduced. Plus all of the different cable networks that came & gone quickly without much documentation. Like right now I am racking my brain trying to dig up information on “Video Watch” a movie rental chain in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Maybe contact Ben from Oddity Archive. He has an extensive collection of VHS recordings from the era. Good luck with the search and here’s hoping you don’t get hit with a copyright issue because of your uploads.

By 79 I probably was listening to N.W.A tapes on Saturday morning! No hate but these cartoons got weak by 89! No Bugs, no real cartoons! Kissy Fur and sh!t!
