- Doing the Eggxcavator challenge. Using an excavator with a thumb to pick up an egg off a bottle and move it to another bottle without breaking it.
After editing this video, I feel like I got some really delicate eggs, some of them broke for no reason.
You know what that thing broke for no good reason, eggs shouldn’t really break that easily - lets fix that

Watching this was the best decision of today.. What a bored brilliant constructor would do to entertain it's followers ? taking live challenges.. Cody certainly approved this one !

Andrew it's nice to see the humorous side of you, you are still a Badass with a excavator.
Andrew's bucket is actually dripping mud/dirt as he picks up an egg. Everyone else's looked fairly clean like they prepped for it. Respect, Andrew. I just watched the rest of the video. Absolute gold.

The rocks and the skid-steer are fine...my wife would freak if she saw me using a metal spatula on a Teflon griddle.

Sweet! That was my struggle just seeing how close the thumb was to the egg the whole time. Cody said thanks for breakfast. Glad you were able to participate it's been fun!

Well done Andrew! Just seeing the egg from the cab was my biggest challenge. My favorite part was the rocks falling from the skid loader bucket when flipping lol

Haha I think everyone was waiting to see Andrew do the challenge. He's the only one who could do it and then take the egg... back to the shop and repair it...or make something out of it like lunch for Cody! Way to go Andrew for a great spin on the challenge.

For all those that have run equipment in there lives I just want to point out a few amazing skills that AC shows he has.
1. He lives and works in one of the hardest ground areas of the US. He routinely has to endure the shock load and release of digging in literal granite, shale, bluestone and gravelly clay dirt.
2. You get used to how the controls feel so YOU don’t notice it.
3. To demonstrate absolute control with such a fine touch on such large machines built and used to make money with not to “demonstrate” anything is just mad skills. (Abused not so much by AC but by the type of ground work he’s doing)
4. His sense of humor with the spatula is comedy gold but he also shows mad skills with that bucket skid steer.
5. I’d trust him to pick me up and not crush me to death or even a bad bruise.

Andrew: *cracks it onto a griddle, flips it with a skidsteer and makes Cody chow*
Me: Damn, I’d eat that fried egg.
Andrew: Let me add some seasoning first.

It's been a LOT OF FUN watching all the RUclips excavators doing this. Chris kinda cheated though when he bought a brand new excavator just for the challenge. At least Cody got an egg out of the deal.

I've been skipping this challenge on other channels, but after years of watching Andrew solve a multitude of problems with a big hammer, a pry bar, and the same gentle touch as a German jazz band, I just had to watch 🤣

A couple years ago i bought couple stainless steel eggs at an airport in Germany. Can find it searching "WMF Stainless-Steel Egg Shaped Odor-Eater", some sort of anti odor gimmick thing for using on your hands. But its a neat desk toy as its weight to bobble around and stand up. Importantly though it is a single piece of stainless steel as eggs should be!

Doing it off of a Dasani bottle on a diamondplate fender is really doing the challenge on Expert (eggxpert?) mode. An amped up gnat could knock that over.

that's what i thought. the wobbly bottle was the bigger challenge. he shold have filled it half way with water. IMHO he did it on the first try.

Great job Andrew. Love how you stepped it up and cooked your egg for Cody. I almost died laughing when you broke out the skid steer with the spatula .
I've found that pasture raised eggs usually have considerably thicker shells. I'd bet that combined with a bit of rust removal on the kubota bucket (to reduce friction) would let you pick one up intact.
Outdoors with the morgans, he cracked his egg to, and he's the one who started it. So I think you are all good.

I expected AC to retrofit his bucket to accommodate a egg picker upper and say, “see…I knew I could do it. Much better now.”
Ii love how you can put the "Andrew" magic to any situation. I don't think that when "Lets Dig 18" threw the challenge your way that he thought you were going to change the way you were supposed to flip eggs.
I thought the challenge came from Mike Morgan (Outdoors with the Morgans)... not Lets Dig 18.

Andrew, you're awesome! The farm fresh egg post was right on but I'm guessing the main difference might have been that Chris had a clean bucket and thumb. You are both incredible!

I have always enjoyed Andrew's movies and now I find he has a unique sense of humor. Love when the gravel falls on the egg, you may be on to a new path to make you clips even more enjoyable.
I laughed when all those rocks and dirt dumped all over the eggs. It felt so delicate and precise up until that point ahhah

I think the fact that you're able to move the egg, even with a tiny little crack, without completely destroying it, is absolutely impressive. And then perfectly cracking the egg onto the griddle, without any shell, then flipping and plating it... That was legen.... wait for it... dary. Legendary!

Love it, Andrew! You definitely accomplished this challenge! Doing it with the Hitachi was very impressive. And when you brought out the griddle and successfully cracked the egg onto it, I was enthusiastically laughing out loud at your creativity and skills.
I had to laugh out loud when the tooth just digs into the egg as if it's a dinosaur, at 06:00.
Was about to sign out for the night and this video shows up. So after watching Letsdig18s challenge to you earlier I had to see your response, and it didn't fail to entertain me for 10 mins. Great show my friend.

I would say egg no. 3 was a confirmed - maybe there was a crack in the shell, but you didn't crack it open, so it's all good. 😁

That was an excellent exhibition of skill. I know moving eggs is not practical with a large machine, but it shows an experienced operator can excavate and do extraordinary and intricate work with a large machine. Outstanding work.

Still seems like pretty precision work on your part, considering how fragile eggs are and the total lack of feedback on just how hard you're gripping them. I'd think doing this with only very slight cracks is still an accomplishment

Andrew, I'll give you and Chris a tie on this challenge. To make it truly honest, you should both be operating the same excavator. That said, you take a Gold Ribbon for ingenuity.... frying the egg, and using a loader to turn to egg over. Great fun, guys!

That was perfect,.. 8:37 switching to cooking the egg with equipment. If you can use a skid steer to switch out a starter,... you can certainly cook an over easy egg. I'll have mine with just a little less dirt.

DO not use Checker plate for this challenge, you require a flat surface, Beautiful finish Andrew, well done.
Well done Andrew. I think you may have just added to the challenge...crack the egg onto the cooker WITHOUT including any shell, and without breaking the yolk. Picking up the "half-cooked" egg and trying to put it on a plate could be another challenge. Why not keep the challenge going and pick up the plate (including egg) and put it on the picnic table !!!
You made me laugh there, I like my eggs scrambled too. That little bit of fiber in the egg is alright too.
