Though weirdly, even with the abandoned station, people are ALLOWED to ride around the loop. There's another loop and abandoned station in NYC but it's only used on certain weekends and people are NOT ALLOWED to ride this one. That's the Bowling Green 5 Train who uses South Ferry Loop. Beno, the reason why i would have thought that you would have got caught by station staff, because on most rail networks for example the Merseyrail, before the train moves empty into a siding, or loop, the trains would have been checked by station staff before the train moves off to ensure that no one is on board.

At the Harrow and Wealdstone switchback on the Backerloo line, which is out in the open, the platform staff come and check every carriage of the train before it goes up and comes back.
