I can imagine owning an $80k truck. But I suppose I’m content driving my 22 year old truck to work in the morning. I can not imagine spending $80k for a car to take me somewhere I don’t want to be. Monday-Friday. 8+ hours per day. But I’d sure look cool during my commute, I guess.
You couldn’t have worded it better getting from point A to point B is a necessity not a about looking good keep your truck as long as it last to serve its purpose. with $80,000. I can buy myself three houses in South America live in one rent the other two and not work another day in my life.

It is called the dumpster behind the grocery store. You would be amazed what they throw away. I watched a market take several hundred dollars of meat out of the refrigerated display and cart it directly into the dumpster... such a shame.
The department stores did this to themselves. No one believes 50 and 60 off is a deal when you mark the price up double from what it should be to begin with.
Exactly. There are some idiot consumers thinking they're saving a lot but there are more smarter ones who is starting to realize this... Regular price for an item $399.99 Black Friday price would be $349.99 and next to it it'll say was $599.99 save 40%.... BULL CRAP
Not true.on line does the same thing.raises prices then slashes them and calls it a sale people today are to busy working 2 and 3 jobs to survive.also violence is what has people scared to go anywhere like myself then there is all of the smash and grav that keep people away.
Big corporations killed Black Friday. The only thing I’m happy about the end of Black Friday is that underpaid employees don’t have to deal with the chaos anymore!
Black Friday was always my favorite day of the year to work. It was a 12 hour shift at time-and-a-half pay, which went by so fast because of how busy we were.
This makes me sad. Shopping malls used to be a hangout for young people when I was coming up. You could spend an entire afternoon with your friends with 20 bucks. You could buy a gift for someone, a little something for yourself, and a bite to eat at the food court. A matinee ticket at the movies cost a little over four bucks. Now kids are stuck in their rooms at home, communicating with the friends they never get to see from behind a screen. It’s too dangerous and expensive to go out. I feel heartbroken for everyone.
Back in my high school days id skip classes just to go to book store's mall where i can read comics for free 😂 then id spend 50 cents for a ice cream 😂
I told my wife this exact same thing. She said it was because everyone does online shopping. I totally disagree. People have no money left. 90% of people living paycheck to paycheck.
In fact, the globalists are rebooting the whole financial system. It will very likely reach a catastrophic tipping point in the 2nd half of 2024. At least that’s what they are “telegraphing” in their inside jokes and subtle references. Trust Jesus before the Antichrist takes center stage and those that remain are forced into central bank digital currencies. Once cash is gone, it’s NEVER coming back. The set up is pretty much complete. The Antichrist will rule from Jerusalem in order to mock God. That’s why Jerusalem’s fate is so hotly contested.
there was some great ones last year on newegg. this year blew for real, it's not really a deal when it just got reduced to the pre inflation price or even worse "5-10 $'s off". Costco had a really nice qned 75" for 1k that looked better than the 3k oled screens. Kids clothes were heavily discounted and that was the best deals this year.
4 things killed black Friday 1. doing "black Friday" deals weeks before black Friday 2. black Friday deals apply both in store and online, so no rush to go out and drive to store 3. marking up prices right before black Friday to artificially create sales 4. inflation, people cant afford as much as they use to
Why get in line for Black Friday deals at a store when they only have 5 items and 100 people in line and refuse to give out rain checks for the cheaper price items. No thanks
As a kid I would mow a few lawns and make about $10-$12, walk to the mall, get a huge slice of pizza for $1.79, pick up a paperback novel for $2.99-$3.99. Then spend the rest on tokens at the arcade. These are great memories
20 years later and Amazon still leans on the postal service for last mile. They make billions per year while the postal service is broke using 40 year old vehicles. Internet home delivery simply would not be affordably possible if not for the cheap labor being used by the postal service for package delivery. I think Big Business such as Amazon are abusing the indented purpose of the postal service. They are making a lot of money. the consumer is getting almost free convenience at below store price. It sounds like a win/win until you understand that it's the worker who has to pay that piper. Which I'm sure nobody cares about if you're not amongst the working class. Perhaps that's why nobody is working these jobs? Perhaps the labor shortage drives costs up? Perhaps labor shortage contributes to worse customer service and supply chain issues... There's consequences to all of it. net shopping/cell phone entitled consumerism is a huge root of it imo
As other people have said: 80 grand for a new truck.....it's like there are two Americas. In one America people can buy multiple new cars, own a nice house plus rental houses, etc. while the majority of people can't handle a $500 emergency. It's totally freaking crazy. It's not just Black Friday - this country is a shell of it's former self.

There was a time when too many replaced their car every year or so. How wasteful and spoiled Americans were. Baby boomers were big spenders. Not anymore. The country has changed, thanks to the demonized players tearing down the country layer by layer and those spend thrifts voted for those doing so. A planned agenda...
For the first time in many years, my husband and I actually went to the local mall on Black Friday. We just never went before, because of the unbelievable crowds. But this year, we looked at the parking lot while passing by, and it was nearly empty! The stores were empty. Signs read “Entire store 40% off!” …. But nobody in the store except the employees. Yet, the news media announced that “customers turned out in record numbers!” Yeah… 😂
the media didn't lie when they said "customers turned out in record numbers" they just conveniently omitted the part that it was record low numbers. That's how they manipulate people all the time in their reporting and attempt to control the narrative regardless of the subject matter. The word choice, selection, and rhetoric all matter. People have gotten smarter now to their ways.
"But nobody in the store except the employees. Yet, the news media announced that “customers turned out in record numbers!” Yeah… 😂 The year 2023 is on average colder than the previous few years. Yet, Joshua Green, the Hawaiian governor, claims that "2023 is the hottest year in human history." Really? 😖
Pretty ignorant of you to say; 'Good.' In-person retail economy is one of main factors that has made this country the richest in the world. Online shopping wouldn't have come about at all, without it. I was in retail management for over 20 yrs up until about a decade ago. I am SHOCKED at this video! I can't get over it. I can remember having to be at my store at 3am Thanksgiving night. From that point on, it was chaos for 6 weeks until New Years. The week after Xmas was Return hell. Absolutely learned to hate this time of year because of the job career I was in. I am just floored at this and feel for the store managers who, more than likely, still get berated by corporate and their district managers for not making an increase over last year sales figures.
Black Friday hasn't been worthwhile for years. There used to be actual discounts on items, and thats why people fought for stuff back in the day.... Now? Corporations mark up the prices of items and then "slash it down" so you end up paying thr same price it was before they inflated it. It's crooked.
ah but the fist fights, watching people beat the hell out of each other over a TV, PlayStation,Xbox was the best part. well 2nd to sitting in the car and watching people get jacked for that $1k tv they just fought off 30 other people for. or the people being held a gun point for the PlayStation,Xbox
I work in retail, and I can tell you that retail itself has killed its own business and the CEOs and everyone else are too stupid to realize what they need to do to get the people back in the stores
My biggest gripe is that 90% of the stuff retailers sell is Chinesium and won't last a year. If I'm gonna go somewhere in person to shop around I expect the best quality goods. If I wanted cheap stuff from overseas, I'd order it online where I can choose exactly what I want down to the most minute detail instead of settle for the one or two models made from brittle plastic they MIGHT have in stores.
Stores like Best Buy and target killed Black Friday. They been scamming their customers for years with fake prices. Customers finally realize that nothing is really on sale on Black Friday.
My mom works at Macy’s and she said they were crazy busy. Not really a line when they opened but it was a good rush on Black Friday. People make jokes and laugh about stores being dead but it really is sad watching this. I worked in retail for years and sucks that we work day and night and we don’t have anything to show for it.
I was at one of these stores and this dude must've come in at like, 4 in the afternoon to miss the crowd. I mean, obviously you can pretend it's dead when you come in late on a day known for pre-sunrise rushes.
@@greasey8695 exactly. Dude probably went at dinner time😆 Trust me when I say, I want to go and shop and treat myself. A lot of people do. But we just don’t have the money. But when I do, I love a good shopping day ❤️
I work retail and this was the slowest Black Friday ever. A complete waste of time. Most of the business was through our website. A lot of ship-from-store orders and same-day pickups. Fewer customers means less employees, which means upset customers who decide to shop online instead. It’s a vicious cycle.
I have been surprised to see the store traffic is lower than a regular weekday. I think it is a sign of the times. Retail jobs will probably get decimated over the next few years. I recommend getting into the service industry or the trades ASAP.
I doubt less customers mean less employees. Good thinking though Job duties do evolve over time to help business thrive. So in the sense of less footprint at brick and mortar, the duty would be either lessen or adjusted to other avenue aka fulfill online traffic and sales thus more employees doing the logistics to meet bottom line.
@@edgaryzen4925 That’s exactly what I meant. A lot of us doing fulfillment duties were cashiers at some point. I’m going to tough it out this holiday season but I’m already looking for other jobs for next year.
@@edgaryzen4925 Big picture, absolutely less jobs with less retail sales. Most of the workforce can be eliminated and/or outsourced. Amazon is implementing more and more AI to replace costly labor. When was the last time you got domestic customer service on the phone? Every time I call, I talk to someone in the Philippines or in India. Labor is a retail business' biggest expense, they will make labor cuts to save on their most variable cost. A shift to online commerce removes the need of countless jobs, including security and janitorial/housekeeping. Online sales can put more work on fewer people in a more remote, central warehouse. The only reason retail still exists is the boomer and gen-x holdouts that do not like online shopping. Millennial and gen Z choppers already prefer online shopping. They are the ones fueling Doordash, Instacart, UberEats etc; they are happily trading quality for convenience.
Well, y'all wanted 20 an hour for ringing a register or greeting people at walmart. Then you're surprised when there is fewer staff to go around and people shop onilne or you get automated checkouts.
It's incredible to be witness to the dramatic shift away from retail stores. For a person who grew up in the 60's and 70's I never dreamed this was possible.
Retail would still have a role if people desire a certain quality of service (particularly if shoppers want to see the products first-hand), but the question is whether any companies can step-up in that regard. Few neither desire nor may afford to do so. The fact that those working have most of their money going to rent and other already existing expenses with heavy inflation doesn't help either.
It’s also possible that shoppers finally realized there is no such thing as a Black Friday deal. As marking things up just to mark them down to the original price is not a deal

I never feel sorry or concern for car dealers. Last year when i wanted to buy. The sales manager treated me like dirt. The dealers jack up prices and laugh at customers who offer them fair price. They talked to me as i was a begger coming inside the store. Now look at them!! They are trying to be nice but it is too late. Customers vengeance is real! Keep your car, fix it still come up cheaper and no monthluy payments
It was the same with me when I was purchasing a new car in 2019. Was looking at a Civic and The Honda dealer played games. Gave me one price, then I said I wasn’t buying, came back with a better price and I walked out. Told the guy “why didn’t you give me this better price when we first started talking? You’re playing games. I’m outta here”. Ended up going to Hyundai and getting an Elantra for less than both prices Honda gave me.
I recently stopped in a Kohl's store and saw a pair of affordable sunglasses. I checked the online price, which was lower than the store price. I asked the cashier if Kohl's would price match the price on their website. She said no. So, to get the lower price, I would have to buy them online and arrange for store pickup (several hours later). I went home and found a similar product on Amazon for cheaper.
This is and has been the plan all along. they make it where they can close all middle class business & then they tell us if we don't comply they won't sell us the online...imagine us all painting ourselves into a corner & that is where we are.
Target does that all the time. But they will price match. It’s so bad that I have to compare prices on an item to the online one before I leave. But they will price match. It’s like a trick for people that don’t know though.

Only a few years ago, people used to trample each other to be the first one to get that new thing that's on sale at a ridiculously cheap price. Man, times have really changed. I just have a feeling that online shopping will one day kill malls like JCPENNEY.
More people have realized what most of us have known for years: There's a growing awareness of marketing tactics these companies use like jacking up prices and trying to make people think they're getting deals. Additionally, many companies don't bother offering good deals when they know people will buy their products regardless. In the past, a lot of companies would offer discounts ranging from 50% to 80%, but these days, it's more like 25% - quite a drop. As I mentioned, they also prices generally are higher overall, and people don't want to spend what they don't have. Companies just don't care as much anymore to give customers actual deals, a lof them just want to screw customers and are more greedy than ever.

This black friday we decided to go in the afternoon instead of in the evening because we can afford it and still there were plenty of people. But we decided to leave around 6:30 pm just as the number of visitors inside the mall started ramping up. And this is one of the less popular malls, I can only imagine what it was like in the more popular and premium malls.

About two weeks before Black Friday I needed to run a couple of errands. First stop. Lowes Hardware. The place was absolutely dead. On a weekend with nice weather no less. Then I went to Walmart. Places like Walmart encourage online shopping by offering online only prices. I still prefer going to the store because I want it now not when The UPS driver finally shows up. Funny thing just happened to me lately though, I had my eye on something from Walmart but it was online price only. The last time I tried ordering from Walmart online they made me wait half the day before giving me a pickup time and when they finally E-mailed me they only had one of the two items I ordered. They offered to send me the second one in a couple of days but I wasn't going to be around to receive it. That and my printer wasn't working so I couldn't printout the pickup info anyway. I wasn't sure how that was going to workout when I got there anyway. So I canceled the order. The funny thing that happened lately was I saw something online and thought there was no chance I was going to be able to get it for that price and after the last time ordering on line I was like why bother! Well I was walking around one of their stores the other day for a different reason and they had what I saw online for the same price. 😁SCORE!

Maybe but having your packages left on the porch for people to steal when you're out is still an anxiety inducing inconvenience, and the ability to try things on/getting them instantly is still something the online experience can never replicate. There are things you can buy online that are pretty universal without a need to try on, or see in person, but when there's a product you're unsure of, want to see options in the flesh in front of you and have it immediately, there will always be a need for IRL shopping. Also the social aspect, people like going to shop and using it as an excuse to eat out with friends/family.
I had a feeling no one was shopping this season. Even all the lightning deals on Amazon were going unclaimed left & right. But I saw articles saying that shopping was up so & so billions of dollars from last year so,who knows. I just can’t believe it considering how high interest AND prices are.

I think another aspect of this lack of customers is that it is not safe to wander with cash anymore in the cities; especially in the SF Bay Area. The removal of the items for sale at the computer store is a big indicator. Apple stores smash and grabs.. you name it. Who wants to put their lives and property at risk for holiday gifts?

Frankly the dept. stores have no one to blame but themselves. Years ago, when you wanted home appliances, electronics, camera, etc. you could go to a store and SEE the actual items on display. But today, the stores expect you to come in knowing exactly what you want and ask for it specifically. It's like buying a box of corn flakes---no shopping involved. If I already know exactly what I want, why should I go to a store to get it? I can order it online, and I can even pay to have it not only delivered, but installed. A local large electronics and appliances store did a great business for nearly 70 years. You could go there, look at refrigerators, open them up, check them out. Same thing with appliances, tv's, air conditioners, cameras. They had a great selection of everything and they were the go-to place for everyone. Literally for generations. But then, one day they changed all that. They no longer had anything on display. You went to the front desk, ordered what you wanted, and they wet and got it out of the back. Like you were ordering a hamburger at McDonalds! Why go to a store for that? That store went out of business within two years. You go to a store to see, touch and examine something yourself, with your own eyes and hands. Otherwise, what's the point? You might just as well sit in comfort at home and order it online. As for Black Friday---that was once a great shopping day. But today? it's nothing but a scam. No real sales, no real savings, nothing. Read the fine print on that 60% off sign----you can bet it is for a tiny restricted number of items that they could not sell. I remember the days when stores would offer 25% to 50% off everything in the store and they would clean up. But today, they use dishonest lures to draw customers, but then give those customers nothing. Again, the stores have no one to blame but themselves.
A big problem for actual stores is people come in to see the product and then buy it from an online warehouse for less. That was never going to be sustainable. Add in the reality of rampant theft and everything being locked up, and it's easier to skip the store entirely.
My husband and I own a small retail store in a small touristy community. Been in business over 40 years. Back when the big stores used to have only the "after Christmas sales" we had decent Christmas business. Once all the big box stores started having their sales on black Friday, our Christmas business went down hill.

Part of the the problem, especially with stores like Best Buy where younger people may shop, is upper management has stripped the floor dry of sales associates. It’s not necessarily the store’s fault. My boyfriend is a manager of a big store and he desperately needs people to apply to work there so he can hire some staff. No one wants to work these days.
Corporations killed Black Friday. They managed to take something that was a fun shopping experience and turn it into a money making con game. People started kicking doors in to get that TV at a 60% discount but what they didn't know was that that TV wasn't the same one that was on the shelf the week before. In fact the one that was at a 60% discount is actually made specifically for Black Friday and has a completely different model number than the one that's normally on the shelf. I think once that started getting out and a bunch of these stores artificially inflating their prices before Black Friday so that they could lower their prices back down to their normal prices that's what ruined the magic of Black Friday.
Well, as I understand it, Black Friday was a chance for the businesses to get their accounts in the Black. So I want to think that it was always a money making game. Perhaps more of a con as the years rolled on as businesses failed to make those returns they were hoping for.

Black DEATH Friday. Just returned from Walmart. VERY slow there. Cashiers were all standing in front of their lanes looking for customers to check out. About noon on Friday. This is concerning. Times have changed. The economy sucks.
Most of these stores started their black friday sales earlier this month. I picked up my first BF order on November 6th. In many cases, if you didn't grab the stuff early, you missed out. In other cases, such as Target and movies, you had to buy online because they don't carry much if any in stores. So again no reason to head to the store today.
This is relative... I've worked at a mall in San Antonio TX for the past 6 years and out of those 6 years 2023 was the busiest we've ever been... packed!
Retailers have trained the Customer to shop online... I love when I go in to a brick and mortar store, and they smile and say, we are out of stock on that.. but we can order it for you!.... well dude, I can order it myself, AND since I have to order it, I'll Google around for the LOWEST price, from the thousands of online outlets....
No not necessarily being nice. They're instructed and coached to say that by managers. And where I worked we were only allowed to price match with a retailer that had physical brick and mortar stores. We were also forced to meet an online order quota each day. We were left with the choice to either lie to the customer and tell them its out of stock we can order it at the kiosk, or end up in the managers office for a sit down. @@dogmd7

Was watching for sales on a website recently. Had my eye on a few items. On black friday the price didnt change at all, they just added a fake number that was crossed out and claimed it was on sale. Needless to say, I did not purchase any of the items, as I was only going to get any of them on sale. Shame to see a company I enjoyed stooping to such levels.
Pretty much every single company save a few are doing this now amd have been for the better part of a few years. As much as I love them, Palmetto state armory is a huge culprit in this area, with sale prices of dozens and dozens of items being the exact same a week later when the sales over. Ive caught it so many times on every site I just expect the prices to be a lie unless I knew the exact price beforehand and can prove that im getting a deal
In the late 90s I was young and working retail at a mall department store; we used to have to announce the time we’d open the doors on Black Friday and whoever was tasked with actually opening them was at a real risk for being trampled if they weren’t careful.
The rise of online shopping has of course changed the experience, but I drove to the gym early Black Friday, went past several stores including a Best Buy, and they were jammed. You either live in a rent-free district or you drove around to find an area that typically doesn't do well with Black Fridays to begin with.
2019 had people lining up before sunrise in every neighborhood, wealthy or poor on Black Friday. There are many reasons for this. one is jacked up prices. a 60% discount on an item that doubled in price is a trick.
My sister bought something online a few days ago because the price was good and she didn't think it would drop much lower for black friday. When she looked at it today, the price had increased.
fifteen years ago I almost witnessed a pile-up on 1-95 at 3am in the morning on Black Friday because traffic was backed up at the exit leading to a major mall with the cars backed up nearly a half-mile onto the interstate itself. What a difference just a decade has made. Truly a sign of how retail in our society has changed. Ironically, we seem to have turned back to the old mail-order catalog business that boomed from the late 1800s through the second half of 20th century. The major difference being that the catalogs are now online instead of being paper manuals mailed to us.
And don't forget you can get the majority of needed items delivered in 12-36 hours and ANY item within 3-4 days. Retail just can't stock everything like distribution warehouses do.
I didn't do any black Friday shopping this year, the deals didn't seem like they were actually worth it. Prices still way more than they ever should be and this is coming from someone that spent $1600 on a 65" tv last year. The Kohls was the most shocking one to me, because I've gone there every year for at least the past decade and at various times of the day. Seeing no line is an eye opener, I remember spending an hour in the checkout like consistently. Solid video and thank you for editing it.
I checked the usual websites for Black Friday deals but they were basic sale prices. A few weeks ago I went to get a couple sale items from Lowes, the parking lot was almost empty, the store was also empty of customers, yet I still had to go all over the store to find an employee to unlock the item. I don;t see how retail stores can continue in this kind of market.
Wait until after Christmas if you need to replace something needed. If no one buys, those big stores don't have enough room in the back to store product left over and it's too expensive to ship it back.
I have asked coworkers, friends and family. No one was out shopping. I was out to get a few things that I needed, like chicken feed. People aren't out there for what they want, but what they need.
As a mexican who was able to go to black friday sales from time to time since the 90's. I can tell that after 2016 or 2017 things already changed a lot, but 2020 seems to be the last nail in the coffin.
As soon as cyber Monday became a thing that’s when retail stores were doomed. The convenience of not needing to leave the house is more favored. Wasting gas and going from store to store is also not doable for many as gas prices have been mediocre. Either use gas to spend money or use gas to make money by going to work. Definitely, the pandemic hit the reset button for all retailers. A lot retailers hours of operation were also reseted from 24/7 to 12/7 a day. Some stores open late in the morning like 10am and close early like at 8pm. Cut back on staff only a handful of full time employees vs part timers. Plus people woke up…
I can tell you, 2016 is when heath insurance got extremely expensive. The middle class had about half their expendable income taken away. Now grocery prices has taken the other half of expendable income, but at least we still eat. The working class are reduced to hustles and starvation. God has warned me that crime is about to explode.
As someone who is Gen Z (Born 2004), during my early childhood, we did know what it was like to have fun. Playing Nerf wars in your friend's backyard, racing your bikes, skateboarding, or even playing a good 'ol game of freeze tag. I haven't experienced fun like that since 2017.
Naw, after the feeding frenzy it was in the 2000s, I'm glad it's dead to be honest and after the Bluesky thread I came across from employees who takes about how so many "specials" were scams, literally nothing of value has been lost. Protip: the best time to buy discount TVs is the week before the Super Bowl, where good brands like Sony have fantastic deals. Black Friday always pushed things like those cheap Westinghouse TVs that would blow out in a week.
Online shopping is convenient but I could never understand ordering clothes and shoes without trying them on first. So, when they don't fit you have to ship em back!?😢😂 THAT would suck.
I suspect women have it harder since there doesn't seem to be a standard for sizing. I ask my wife what size she wears and she tells me it depends on the brand. As a man, when I order clothes online and even shoes, they usually fit. Every once in a while I have to return an item, but it is pretty easy if you are shopping Amazon.

When the sale runs all month, gets extended to mid January... It is hard to take it seriously anymore.
there was some great ones last year on newegg. this year blew for real, it's not really a deal when it just got reduced to the pre inflation price or even worse "5-10 $'s off". Costco had a really nice qned 75" for 1k that looked better than the 3k oled screens. Kids clothes were heavily discounted and that was the best deals this year.

What do you mean? $50 dollars off a $1300 graphics card on cyber Monday isn't good enough for you?
On a side note the malls around here have been 60% off since July. I just think the economy is slower than they are letting on.
4 things killed black Friday
1. doing "black Friday" deals weeks before black Friday
2. black Friday deals apply both in store and online, so no rush to go out and drive to store
3. marking up prices right before black Friday to artificially create sales
4. inflation, people cant afford as much as they use to
I'd also include "Cyber Monday" with "Amazon Day" which is like 3 times a year now

As a kid I would mow a few lawns and make about $10-$12, walk to the mall, get a huge slice of pizza for $1.79, pick up a paperback novel for $2.99-$3.99. Then spend the rest on tokens at the arcade. These are great memories
Those are really great memories. Thank you for sharing.
As a US postal worker, I can confirm that everyone shops online. The volume of Amazon packages we deliver is INSANE.

News media is Pravda. They now have two main purposes: To deceive, and mold the thinking of the masses. It is no longer a public service.

@@danielschrecker9996Almost everything you've bought for the past 30 years has been Chinesium. What's different, all of the sudden?
So tell me - how do you get people visiting the stores again?
Stores like Best Buy and target killed Black Friday. They been scamming their customers for years with fake prices. Customers finally realize that nothing is really on sale on Black Friday.
The CEOs make 2,000% more than the rank and file employees. But I’m sure it’s because they’re just so damn smart, right-as their stock nose dives.
My mom works at Macy’s and she said they were crazy busy. Not really a line when they opened but it was a good rush on Black Friday.
Good thinking though
Job duties do evolve over time to help business thrive.

@@Nick-hz2klAlways support small businesses, and stay strapped and frosty.
That is part of the problem

Part of the the problem, especially with stores like Best Buy where younger people may shop, is upper management has stripped the floor dry of sales associates. I went in a few days before Thanksgiving to look for an internet hotspot. The place was like a wasteland void of help. I walked the floor for about 10 minutes couldn't find anyone and walked out.

This is all truth.
They were only trying to be nice. Nothing wrong with them offering that service for you. Most big retailers price match each other anyway.
@@dogmd7

And further, you can use the catalog book in the outhouse back then.
And don't forget you can get the majority of needed items delivered in 12-36 hours and ANY item within 3-4 days. Retail just can't stock everything like distribution warehouses do.
Oh that’s a really interesting point! And true too!
I didn't do any black Friday shopping this year, the deals didn't seem like they were actually worth it. Prices still

I used to find something I wanted at Kohl’s every time I went. Now, most of the products are overpriced crap.
Exactly,
Wait until after Christmas if you need to replace something needed. If no one buys, those big stores don't have enough room in the back to store product left over and it's too expensive to ship it back.
I have asked coworkers, friends and family. No one was out shopping. I was out to get a few things that I needed, like chicken feed. People aren't out there for what they want, but what they need.
