Sure has changed over the years with Black Friday! Used to love going to look at all the movie sales and digging through the standies at Wal*mart.. Will never be the same again unfortunately.. Thanks for showing us how it really is Shawn
Thanks for getting up so early in the morning to show what it's like out there with the stores on this Friday. Good point that the stores were a nightmare in the past and I'd avoid it. The online sales have changed a lot of things for walk-in stores. Those Gingerbread cookies look good. Nice store tours, thanks!
I was checking out the Walmart online sales yesterday and there were a few DVDs and 4Ks on sale, but not enough to really warrant a whole standee in the store.
I went out this morning for Black Friday for old times sake. The Wal-Mart & Best Buy had no DVD displays. Best Buy had no movies at all. Wal-Mart only had the normal small section. Target had minimal DVD rack and even smaller sales. The Target did have a buy 2 get 1 free going on which sounded good, but we couldn't find a 3rd DVD. We bought a book to get the buy 2 get 1.
I just went to Walmart and they had no movies at all for Black Friday. They had a tiny cardboard box of video games half of which were plastic cards redeem for digital games. Target had a very small selection of movies in a cardboard display near the front of the store. With Best Buy getting out of selling movies soon this may have been the last black Friday for DVDs and Blu Ray. Maybe we still get Amazon and Crunchyroll deals but it probably wont be the great discounts we are used to.
Even though Black Friday isn't as exciting as it used to be its still a tradition to watch your Black Friday videos so thank you for making them, they are always fun
you should do a cyber monday video and see if anything has changed or not you never know such a sad thing to see these days when it comes to black friday stuff
It’s excellent to see it like this! More people can save their money and feed their families than spending it on things they don’t need just to make the rich richer! Keep your money people! Good job!
The reason there's no much people like years ago when the stores were crowded and people were fighting over merchandise is because the economy is collapsing and getting worse every year and the majority of people shop online that's why the stores are almost empty, also the unemployment is rising a lot of people are Loosing their jobs because big corporations are collapsing too
Its not one of the most popular stores to shop but I lucked out at BIG LOTS on Thanksgiving Day.. All of their Toys were 50% off, so if you had to shop for the keiki (kids, young children) this was a spot to check out.. movie wise, were all regular day priced, sadly
I worked so many Black Fridays as a store manager at GameStop. Absolute insanity, screaming people, everyone pissed…target is busier on a Saturday than Black Friday now!
I generally can't even find movies to purchase on DVD or BluRay in most stores where I'm at (Central Texas.) Just seems like nowadays everyone stays home and shops online. I remember back in 1999 there was talk of the "end of brick and mortar" which obviously didn't happen at that time, but perhaps 20 years later it's unfortunately starting to happen.
I went to Walmart and Target. All the games were sold out, and a lot of the prices weren't on any items. Cold as hell, and people driving around like idiots. Glad they close for Thanksgiving like they used to do. Sad how they commercialize Christmas, instead of keeping all the family time and values in mind.
Best Buy had the same things they've had for the past week, as well as Target, and Walmart had socks on sale. I'm not sure I'd rightfully call it 'madness.' Well, madness in that it's ridiculous how pitiful Black Friday has become..
Sad to see what happened to black friday. Been watching your bf madness videos fpr many years and the excitement and choas is completely gone in the past couple years. Used to be so fun and great blu ray deals years ago. Great memories and glad you captured history over the years
it stinks you could not find what you woke up for but gave us all a look at what the stores had so we thank you. it is important to give as much as we want to receive. when you give you will receive the good feeling you helped someone.
I work at Walmart and we had the black Friday sales the last two weeks we put out some of the stuff, and today we put out the rest maybe the movies were put out already during the week.
I made out well. Walmart: 65" TCL TV, Resident Evil 4 (PS5), Hotel Style Bath Towels and Washcloths, Serta Pillows, Comforter/Sheets Set, Security Cam, SD Card, Pajama Set, Bathroom Rug, Hart Brand Tool Set, Futon, Entertainment Center, Soundbar, some stuff for my Dog, and JLab Earbuds. Target: Final Fantasy 16 (PS5) and GTA 5 (PS5). I'm good till next year lol.
I kind of like the fact that stores seem to be less frantic and crowded this year, Shawn...but it does seem like the apocalypse. Technology has finally reigned supreme 🤷
This is what I call the night of the Zombies. People line up outside the stores wait for the sales to begin while jacked up on Energy drinks and no sleep😮
Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and ate a lot. I just went out to order 5 movies from Severin and 1 from Synapse and that was it I returned home. Wow this is the first Black Friday I've seen Walmart that empty. I think it's because the deals were done previously and people ordering on-line. Anyway thanks for showing the stores and cool video Shawn!👉🙂👈
I would have thought that Wal-Mart would have some titles for Black Friday, especially if they are embracing physical media. It really seems like this day is a thing of the past, except for online boutiques.
It's all online and Amazon . I did mine this morning online, and it's was only a few things. I haven't been bothered with in person Black Friday since around 2015 or so.
It’s weird, looks like Black Friday US has been the worst one yet. 4K/ Blu ray sales in the UK have been decent, bought a bunch on Amazon and HMV. Online is where it’s at, nobody wants to be queuing at the shops anymore. I think those days are gone. 😕
Sad to see BF this way. I feel like stores did this to themselves though. No big-time sales, not carrying product anymore, etc. We will only have Walmart going forward, and they don't even stock new titles in my area. It forces us to shop online, even when we want to browse in person.
Awesome video Shawn 💯 dude I remember watching you & Wetmovie1's first Black Friday videos back in 2008 and wanting to go out and make my own videos ... And I did but these past few years Black Friday just isn't the same 😞 keep up the amazing videos buddy 😎
I dont think any Walmarts had movies out on display for Black Friday the whole month. Usually they'll do a few movies before Black Friday on display but nothing this time. Even the video games that get put out every year on Black Friday didnt happen. I think this may be the end of the Black Friday's as we once knew it.
Too hard to compete with online sales that are even cheaper and are delivered to you within a day. It was sad to see that even Walmart didn't have any movies for sale though. I think that's a first and not a good sign.
Well, I think you can safely remove the word "madness" from these Black Friday videos now. That shopping experience, especially for physical media, was very underwhelming. Gone are the days of aisles of DVDs, blurays, and 4Ks on sale with special standee displays loaded with movies. With Best Buy getting rid of their physical media early next year, and Target massively shrinking their physical media selection, it will be down to Walmart for the bulk of in-store shopping. Most physical media will now be purchased online through Walmart, Amazon, and specialty boutique retailers like Shout Factory, Arrow Video, Kino Lorber, etc.
anyone i know whos ever gotten a foot spa for Christmas or birthday, etc....its always quickly ended up unused, unseen and gathering dust on the bottom drawer in a bathroom or bedroom 😢
Man this is madness! All those people bumping into each other, can't hardly move for the crowd ....Walmart is packed that is so insane! All those people i would've stayed home lol....I worked at wallyworld back in 2002/2003 and Black Friday was totally different then I literally got caught on a bike rack and couldn't get down for all the people pushing against my ladder...I don't think Walmart is what it used to be honestly just so many more places to buy stuff now..
At least there's no madness where people are killing each other over the supplies. On the other hand another dying holiday. :'( even Halloween is dying.
So, they quit doing the gingerbread men year around about a decade-ish ago in South Carolina. Those are the only Little Debbie’s I like and they are sold exclusively at Christmas. They are very hard to find sometimes since a lot of people seem to buy them in bulk. I have no room to judge, I’ve bought 10 boxes already and have eaten over 4 LOL. Love them things. Best Little Debbie cake. Also, I think a majority of the sales are online only. That, and everyone is pretty spent from buying food for thanksgiving. And an added kicker, most kids don’t seem to want to play with toys as much anymore. Everything is going online. Probably just bought their kids Roblox or something lol I’m not sure. Great Vid!
Miss the days when you could see someone get Shanked or Maced over a $2.99 toaster doorbuster sale , that normally sold for like $11.99, And people were ready to Take a Life to get that deal .
As sad as it is to say, even in their last year, Best Buy still had the most movie deals of the three. Target had some this last week and Wal-Mart had nothing.
Just odd. The movie shippers were always part of the Walmart BF hype. This year, a bit of a pivot with a similar video game shipper. But the physical media apparently already has one foot out the door. Sad.
Black Friday isn't Black Friday any more. While I wont miss the ugly side of it with the fighting and pepper spraying loonies, I will miss the chaos, madness and excitment of it all. Crazy thing is retailers did it to themselves, it stopped being a special day for bargain hunters and became a month long event starting in early November.
Yeah I’m over Best Buy. At least my local stores haven’t been the same since Covid. Im not upset anymore they’re done with physical media. Their sales sucked this year. Good riddance
I used to collect dvds when blockbuster was around but once they were gone I stopped its a huge waste of money 😂 I don't think they will even make DVD players much longer
Best deal seekers be ready. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life throught Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 God demonstrates his own love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Believe and repent today! The consequences are eternal.
Sure has changed over the years with Black Friday! Used to love going to look at all the movie sales and digging through the standies at Wal*mart.. Will never be the same again unfortunately.. Thanks for showing us how it really is Shawn
Just got back from Super Walmart and no Black Friday movies sale.
RIP Black Friday
I work at Walmart and unfortunately we did not have any movie sales at all this year.
This could the last Black Friday in stores as far for movies 😢
"Driving around like maroons!" 👏👏😂😂😂😂👏👏
The opening is the lowest volume Shawn C. Phillips' voice has ever been heard. lol. Keep rockin' it, dude.
I was checking out the Walmart online sales yesterday and there were a few DVDs and 4Ks on sale, but not enough to really warrant a whole standee in the store.

Sad times when Walmart doesnt have any Black Friday movie bins
No one at my Walmart this morning kind of creepy being dead on Black Friday.
Walmart wasn't really doing much for this black Friday for the movies. The only one to me that did for the movies was Meijer
The sales just aren't there anymore. They used to be 80% off. Now they're only 20% off. Not even worth it.
I always look forward to these

Thanks for taking us with you but you were making us dizzy😮😵💫🥴
All of the movie deals I found at Walmart were specifically online.
Looks like any other day shopping. Black Friday is dead. Most people are just buying things online or not spending money at all.
you should do a cyber monday video and see if anything has changed or not you never know such a sad thing to see these days when it comes to black friday stuff
I hope that you had a great thanksgiving

Walmart movies for black Friday this year online only

End of an era. Crazy. I guess they'll bring dvda back in 30 years like records.......
I picked up some good blu-ray, 4K deals online, but didn’t see anything at my local Walmart either
I kind of like the fact that stores seem to be less frantic and crowded this year, Shawn...but it does seem like the apocalypse. Technology has finally reigned supreme 🤷

The movie deals are not that good this year. Sometimes they have better deals in the summer.
I would have thought that Wal-Mart would have some titles for Black Friday, especially if they are embracing physical media. It really seems like this day is a thing of the past, except for online boutiques.
Look how clean the aisles are!! Good grief, everyone stayed home and had Amazon shop for them.
It's all online and Amazon . I did mine this morning online, and it's was only a few things. I haven't been bothered with in person Black Friday since around 2015 or so.
Moo-roons jajajaja
No one can afford anything anymore.

In Canada, even online is pretty bad.

Last black friday before the emergency broadcast alert maybe? lol Hope your weekend is good

Black Fridays were getting way to crowded and violent😮

You can get same prices online and entire week b4 black Friday

I never went Black Friday shopping. I don’t like crowds.
It ain't the 2010's no more

My mom and I went into Ollies and it was a madhouse.😮
Things have changed a lot. I think now people are really trying to stretch their budget.

Hey Shawn, nice video. Question, have you ever seen any Motern Media films? I highly recommend Don't Let the Riverbeast Get You!
