Hi Tamara I'm a 72 year old retired nurse and have just taught myself to crochet and I love this blanket. I want to spend my whole day working on it its addictive! Thankyou so much
And I though I was doing well, teaching myself to crochet at 58. isn't you tube wonderful, a great way to learn.
I’m 18 and learning. The only problem is that I’m _horrible_ at maths and all these numbers confuse me 😂 (I also don’t use American terms).
I could listen to you teach crochet all day. Very soothing and easy to follow. Love your hook, too.
Making my first California king size blanket with this pattern and I'm in LOVE with the way it's turning out! 12 spools of yarn in, 1/4th of the way done and it's worth every penny!
Hi. I've been planning this project for a while, and finally did it. In doing the edging around, I wish we could have seen the very ending of the blanket, the edging following the peaks. It is a beautiful blanket. Thank you for sharing. My daughter will love this.
Beautiful!!! I could never have figured out the pattern without this visual. Ty very grateful
OH my it's gorgeous!! I love the colors you used and the repeats look like they're lots of fun! Thanks a bunch for sharing!
Mrs Kelly, I’ve been willing to tell you for a while the choice of color on that pattern is just stunning...so beautiful. I’m doing the exact same blanket for a friend , and I’m so in love with it.... i could keep it for myself!!! Thanks for sharing your talents
I've never seen any of your videos before but man, it is mesmerizing watching you crochet lol.
maybeme8 my husband picks on me because I watch crochet videos like they are a television show lol. I am just addicted to crochet though so I want to see all the great projects out there. Which is torture not to stop my current blanket to do this one, but at least I already know what I am going to make next!
You are a good teacher. You do a better job of keeping your hands in the frame than I do! I just haven't found the right set-up yet. Anyway i have added you to my links list. Love the pattern too!
Thank you Tamara for a clear step by step tutorial about this pattern. I really like this stitch. You’re a great teacher!

Currently working this fun pattern. Great video; wish I would have watched before I started as you have a great way of capturing the yarn strands along the sides. Will start using your method now as I continue the blanket. Thanks for the great video!
I've been looking for days for my next project. I'm so glad I stumbled across this pattern! Your instructions are very clear and precise. I appreciate it. So excited to see how this works up
I made this Blanket it was fun and your inst. made it ease.
Tamara, you are very talented. Such a fast worker. I am some what slower, therefore, I will watch this tutorial many times. LOL!! This blanket is gorgeous!! You make it look so easy. Good job, my friend!!
Thank you! Feel free to use the gear icon in the RUclips player to slow it down or speed it up as needed too! :) I often change the speed on tutorials based on how much I already know!
Totally love this pattern! Your instructions are impeccable and crystal clear. Thank you!
UI really like the blanket and you description of the careful ongoing instruction Thank you.
Very pretty pattern. Love it. Love the video. Thank you for showing your talent. You Rock.
I love the Heartland yarn for blankets - soooo soft!
Hi Teresa.
It’s so nice to see someone crochet like I do, a pencil grip! Thank you!
Hi, how are you doing??
Great video! I’m just teaching myself and I actually just completed basically the same pattern in one color. I’m not great at reading patterns so it took a long time to figure out. The blanket was gorgeous and I want to make another, this really helped clarify some things. I’m also excited to try more than one color!
I love how I keep hearing all you video knitters and crocheters saying you "frog it out", or just "frog it"... and realize you mean "rip it, rip it, rip it [out]". Too funny! Thanks for your vlog and free pattern, this one is very lovely! ~Diana
Me too!!!! Lol
I really like this beautiful pattern. I just don't like carrying the yarn when I change colors! Your technique made it easier! I might try just one color, cuz the pattern will look just as beautiful! Thank you!!
Oh my god that’s a beautiful blanket I’m going to try and make that thank you very much for your beautiful Vittorio now I don’t know what size your you’re using but I’m gonna look in your description so thank you very much God bless you bye-bye
OMG it's so beautiful and easy to make. Love the colors . Thank you
Just finished making a blanket in this pattern. It came out beautiful. Thank you for the video and blog on how to do it
I am so excited to try this! You are a fabulous teacher and your voice is pleasant. Keep the videos coming! Thanks so much.
Awesome instructions, beautiful blanket!! Thank you!!!!
Making a throw I Love it. Thank you
THE BEST tutorial I've seen in a long time! Thanks for sharing your pattern and for the way you've explained every single detail!!! Love your work!
Okay this is a great video. I can read the pattern so I can crochet this blanket. But all those colors are killing me so I am only using two right now and it's going slow . When I'm finished it will look nice . Thanks for all the extra help you give us so we can actually crochet something start to finish. This is one of your best videos!!

Very very nice I'm going to make this blanket
Love your color choices. Reminds me of what they call "Primitive" style. I love learning new tricks as with moving the yarns up. Very great tip. I wonder how chunky yarn would work? Love the design but a bit too airy for my liking. I guess one could line it with pre-washed flannel or pre-washed Kona. Excellent direction. Thx.
Thank you a very easy tutorial to follow and my next project. It's very beautiful.
Good quality yarn. Good demonstration. Art of teaching. Beautiful crochet. Am looking for a pattern for an octopus
This blanket wants to come to my house and live with me! I can't crochet if my life depended on it. My aunt has tried to teach me, I've watched so many tutorials and just can't get it. The blanket is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you. I'm looking really forward to making this blanket.
Its really simple ..I made ladies handbag with this omblkt pattern ...thank for video ..
Gorgeous pattern!! Can't wait to try this crochet pattern out. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
Gosh, this is absolutely gorgeous! Ty
Hi Laura.
I have seen and loved this pattern for awhile. So glad to have it. I am doing it as an afghan with my leftover yarn and not worrying where it needs to change mostly in the shells. Don't understand what you meant by shoring up or something about the chains as I didn't see you do anything when you said it when chaining 5. Thanks again
Thank you! Enclosing maybe? You have to enclose the ch-5 in the st of the next row so it isn't loose on the back of the blanket.
thank you
had to watch the video twice to get the pattern right...but awesome project....lovely colors...thanks:)
This is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Love this ! I’m obsessed 🤩
Beautiful! I love your choice of yarn colors!

Beautifully done! Do you think it could be made with either an I or H hook for queen size afghan?
LOL...what kind of coffee do you drink. I need some of that. You are one hyper lady! Love it!
gorgeous! I think I will try this one now....
Looks so pretty
Love the colors.
It’s beautiful. Love this pattern.
I want to make this ..thank you
Love this blanket!
THANK YOU for using large yarn. So many of the knitting and crochet videos use small hooks and small yarn, which makes it very difficult to see.
I'm an experienced crocheter. I like your method for carrying the yarn along the boarder.
This is so adorable. Already started one. Thanks for the free pattern and tutorial.
I LH and used that video. It was nice not to have to reverse everything in my head. thanks
Beautiful , Thank you , God bless you.

Beauty! Class
Great job and looking forward to doing this
I love this video! BTW, what brand is your hook? Looks interesting.
I am going to make this in baby blanket size for a gift. I think it is absolutely beautiful.
This design may be a little too "hole-y" for a baby... they might get their tiny fingers all tangled in the holes.
Diana Pulido it would make a beautiful, not to mention beloved I'm sure, crib decoration blanket. The blankets that people lay across the side of the crib. I say make it. Make one for all the babies you love. Baby blankets that are handmad with love are the BEST gift. It allows them to cuddle with you, even when you are not actually there :)
Found the RIGHT love the pattern
Hi, how are you doing??
Oh my! This is gorgeous! Haha, see what I did there?
I love the pattern! Great tutorial..
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Hi Terri.
Great. I want to do it. How much yarn I need to buy to make blanket for adult? Best regards from Poland
I loved it :)
I’ve never seen anyone hold a crochet hook like that. I wish I could learn, b/c I bet I could crochet faster
& where did u get that lovey crochet hook
& that gold color yarn is beautiful!
I don't know if it's any faster, it's just what came naturally to me! Everyone does it a little differently. :) The hook is a Furls Candy Shop hook - you can see them at my partner link: tinyurl.com/mooglyfurls
great tutorial, thanks!
Very very nce thanks
Beautiful! Going to try this with caron Cakes
Thank you for this pattern; I learned some new tricks too!

Tamara, I noticed that you use Furls crochet hooks. What is it about these hooks that you like so much. I was thinking about purchasing some, but before I do need to know how they are from someone that I see using them, since they would be a big investment for me. Thank you for your great patterns and tutorials.
I like them a lot! The shape is ergonomic and I'm able to crochet longer using these hooks without pain. I crochet a lot, so that is important to me!
VERY beautiful!
Hi Pat.
Tamara thank you for all the free patterns! I desperately want to make this however for some reason I only end up with three stitches at the end of the last shell- any clues as to what I could be doing wrong? Thanks!
Hi ReneeNina83! It's hard to say why that's happening, but I hope to get a chart up for this stitch pattern soon that might help! It will either be at the link in the description or at the least linked there.
Beautiful tutorial you explain beautifully. I would like to use cotton yhread. Which one would you recomend?
Thank you
Hello Claudia! There aren't too many brands of cotton thread around here, so I'm not really familiar with all the choices, but the pattern should work well with any of them! :)
*Really pretty - Thanks for a tutorial! :)*
Pretty design♥️
M wondering, can i use this design for a scarf? 🤔
Thank you for sharing it🙏
🔱🇮🇳🔱
Absolutely, a scarf is just a narrow blanket! There are also patterns for a hat and cowl using this stich on my channel!
May I request you to please advice on how to finish the top side of this blanket?
Nandini Kalra I said the same. I'm having trouble with the top end as well.
I am in the same boat I wish she would have shown how to do the whole pattern
Heyyy, is there a way to increase and decrease this stitch?
Thank you for the demo video...Please could you tell why do you crochet in one loop only?.
When crocheting into the "hump" of the initial chain, your edge looks like a braid and therefore gives an afghan a much more 'finished'/polished look. When crocheting in the body of a blanket, crocheting into only one loop adds an extra dimension to the design by adding a 'ridge' to the design. Crocheting into both loops of a stitch gives the pattern a more smooth appearance. (This explanation would be more easily seen on a simple chevron design crocheted afghan). It's really a design element. If you like, you can try to crochet two different swatches in a particular pattern to see which you prefer: crochet the first one into one loop only, and crochet the second swatch into both loops, and see what you prefer for your project.
Thank you for giving such an indepth reply..yes ,will try what you have suggested to get the textured effect.
thank you for this beautiful tutorial. I am planing on making this what size does it yield when you make the Baby Blanket: Chain 138, 82 rows, 1150 yds ?
It should be approximately 36" x 36" or so. :)
its a curious looking crochet hook, right? but pretty indeed. i think im craving one. we never have enough of these, do we....?
Gabé Bouh Hobby lobby sells this particular hook.
It's a Furls - not sold in stores, but there's a link to their site in the video description above! :)
😍 wow this is different but beautiful ❤️ do u sell any of your products if you do can I buy this blanket....
