On this particular single, the only remaining original member was Jerry Kollenburg. They then went on a sabbatical before original front man Ray Graffia resurrected the band years later. And we're all the better off for it!
@pfordsq That's the VERY FIRST THING I thought when I heard it! They were power pop and I don't think they realized it... I've been listening to posts all night- they were ROCK SOLID. Criminally overlooked.
@saguaroboy You're so right , and they're STILL criminally overlooked . The latter day band , led by Ray Graffia , are regarded as a "Fair Circuit " band , which is "Fair" enough , but , I saw them do a rare gig in Chicago proper last year , it was an all - Garage set , focusing mainly on all the great Sentar sides , and even "People and Me"(Another great , lesser known , track , from '72.). You could say early Buckinghams , Cryan' Shames , Ides of March and NC6 are proto -Power Pop
Very Top 40 but one heck of a song. Great harmonies. As I recall there's only one original member on this but they seemed to get better over the years and IMHO, this proves it.. This should have made the Top 10.
Maybe this would have been a bigger hit if the New Colony 6 had changed their name. Perhaps people in 1974 thought the NC6 were too retro & belonged to the 60s.
This should've been a huge hit back then. Just as good as any pop song that came out of '74. What a gem!!!!!
I never heard the song before but it’s pretty good song and I really like all the NC6 Song
It sounds like The Raspberries or early Sweet doing "I Knew The Bride ( When She Used To Rock'n'Roll ) . ". And that's GOOD !

Song went to # 107 in November of 1974 on Record World Chart. Too bad this song is NOT available on Apple iTunes.
Can you post b side "Go." Thanks
Can you post b side, Mono version? thanks
I'm sorry can you post the b side called "Run," thanks.
I uploaded "Run" about 9 months ago.
sounds a bit like 'The Godz-Like a Sparrow' . . .mmm
And Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell".
Sounds nothing like the new colony six didn't deserve to use the name didn't care for that sound
