    This came in the clutch! I’m starting a non for profit and have no idea what I’m doing lol
    I am at this phase of starting it up & trying to choose who to collaborate with. This was helpful. I’ve been leaning on your vids tremendously. I love this.

      So glad this was helpful! Don't be discouraged; starting a nonprofit is HARD and takes patience, but sooo meaningful if you can get it all working!

    Great information. Some of the organizations I work with can’t survive without formal partnerships. And, the one thing I’ve learned-I prefer warm introductions over cold. So, if I’m looking to partner with an organization, I really work my connections hard. Usually, about 40% to 50% of the time I can find a connection. Because, as you know, especially with for-profit organizations, often making first contact can be quite challenging.
    Great information, Amber!

    When you have a partnership with a sports organization and a school or other non-profit. How should you account for numbers, meaning participants, who gets what funds. What is the best financial practices for this. Ty

      Not all partnerships are financial ones, but in your example, I imagine you'd determine needs and costs for each organization then just agree together what is fair.

    Dear Amber,
    This is Fateh Alameri, Education Sub-National Cluster Coordinator from Yemen. Actually, what you are offering is highly great content. What do you think if we complement each other or collaborate by reflecting cases from Yemen. This is simply because Yemen is classified by UN as the worst humanitarian crisis in history and currently there are lots of experiences occurs in partnership.
    Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Fateh

      Hello Fateh, I'm so glad the content is helpful!! Are there some great organizations working on the crisis that you know of / think do a good job?

    Sounds like the Big Bang roommate agreement. Do you think a clean sweep organization and a rescue mission...collaboration work? I want it to because of the possible partner, but fundamentally we have different goals. I want to save souls the other wants to take them. I guess the question is, can a tiger change their spots. Could a vegan cooking school and a grief recovery program work together? For instance how would a marriage work without such same expectations written or unwritten. I’m wrestling with wanting to partner with a wrong organization just because the chemistry of the leader and myself is magical. Do you see red flags, and am I past rational thinking thinking anyone can change. Thank you for your work, I am captivated by your content. Best nels

      The missions of the two orgs don't have to be exactly the same for a great partnership. I know a technical college that partnered with a nonprofit restaurant in order to offer cooking classes to students - it was a great partnership!

      Thank you, gives me hope. Stripes, tigers have. Leopards have spots. Maybe I have a tiger by the tail. It’s going to cause a hangover.

    Question, do you have zoom call meetings with people looking to start a non profit?

      Hi Bryan! Thanks for asking! I'm currently booked up on consultations right now, but my website (FounderToFullTime.com) has some trainings that may help, and of course, my other videos too!

    I’m planning on creating a program with my cousin who has their own non-profit. My plan is to form my own non profit and partnering with my cousins non-profit for this program. Is there any suggestion for this?

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  2 года назад +1

      As a start, being super clear about your goals and what each organization needs from each other in specific terms!

    What kind of things does a non-profit ask for with a partner? And what does the non-profit do for the partner in return?

      I always recommend starting with a list of your org's needs and assets! (I talk about this in the video) Think of it like a game of "Go Fish". What does your organization have that it could offer a partner (a physical space? A wide audience/reach?), and what does it need (funding? The ability to reach certain groups? Etc.)? It varies.

    When writing to partner with another organization, what suppose to be the content of the proposal

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  Год назад

      I would say you would first start by inviting them for a conversation (vs send a proposal as your first action). If you get to the point where both organizations are willing to consider a partnership, you might write a Memorandum of Understanding / Agreement to outline the details of how you will partner.
