I add a whole loukaniko in slices when the weather is cold.
Also, to reduce the sideeffects, I let the beans boil at medium for 30 minutes before adding the vegetables and skim the foam they produce they produce during those 30 min, like we do for greek fava.

You are very welcome! It the truth! I remember my mom’s recipe was very simple. The bow ties melted in your mouth, and had a subtle flavour. What is the secret to a soft bow tie? Do you know? Mine turn out tough. Is there a lazy way of making them? ...lol
When I make the Fasolada, I prefer to saute the veggies for 30 min, as well I add Chicken Bullion.

i do mine the same way but the cayenne is interesting...will try it next batch...i also like to add an orange peel and vinegar to mine...kali orexi

When I make mine, I sauté off the carrot, onion and celery first. I'm going to try it your way next, see if it tastes more how I remember by Thea Eleni's one tasting. Thank you!

@@KensGreekTable Oddly they didn't absorb as much liquid - weirdos - so I had to add in some cans of white beans. Tastes really good though! I'll try with different dried beans next time.
Typically gigantes need a little more prep time. Especially if they’re dry...
made this today came out great , allowed it to cook for 8hrs on slow cooker salt n pepper your choice though needs it

Ken you made the ti fasolada exactly the way my family made it. Some of us love to eat the bean soup with small pieces of feta on top. Though the raw onion goes great with Garbanzo soup or favfa. Great video. Thank You.

This recipe happens to be the national dish in Iraq except they do theirs with meat.
