I’ve only just started getting into golf but I really like this comparison. The $60 course in Branson looks like the kind of courses my grandpa played once or twice a week every week when he retired in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Last year I had a business trip at Big Cedar Lodge, and out of curiosity I found Paynes Valley and the other courses just by driving around. Absolutely gorgeous, and just looking around will make a golf enthusiast out of anybody! It’s definitely not an every day or every week kind of place (unless you’re a real estate mogul or tech bro) but I would love to play Paynes Valley someday. Great video showing off the beauty of my home state!
All the courses at Big Cedar are incredible! Pricey but they are a destination or resort type course. I thought Ozark National was the toughest. Buffalo Ridge was the most scenic. Payne's Valley is fairly easy if the wind isn't blowing. Good video Josh!
Played the pointe royale course about a month ago. It’s $110 for a weekend morning tee time and the course condition was pretty much the same. Played Ozark national the next day for $275 and it felt more worth it somehow. Mixture of the serenity and atmosphere they’ve created there. It was a pleasure to get destroyed by that course. 10/10 recommend
I thought the cheaper course was OK. It would have been nice if the maintenance crew had marked off some of those nasty spots next to the greens as ground under repair. Even nicer if the crew could fix those spots up. As for Payne's Valley, it certainly offers a premium experience for $460 per round. One thing I did notice was PV had a practice facility that is the spitting image of the facility at the Orlando area's Orange County National.
I live here in Branson and have played many of the courses in the area. All the Big Cedar courses are incredible. Another beautiful one is Ledgestone in Branson West.
While Branson will always have a little hillbilly flavor in terms of entertainment and kitsch, That town has seriously upped its game in terms of entertainment and activities for all tastes, all ages, and all budgets. The Big Cedar Lodge resort and all of its activities and amenities, including golf, rival anything you could find in Colorado or Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, or on the Coasts.
i wouldnt know what to do with all that space around the holes at paynes valley, definitely used to the congested fairwatys of muni courses near where i live lol!
Remember when the bathrooms were closed and there was no water on the courses during the Covid days. Makes you appreciate those little amenities so much more nowadays 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I used to play a course in Savannah Georgia right by the airport. They had a pace of play monitor in your cart that told you if you got to far behind the group in front of you. Unfortunately it was set for being right on the A$$ of the group in front of you and the warden would come out and tell you to hurry up. Nice course but I felt really rushed and it was a bit uncomfortable to be always hitting in to the group in front of me.
I have played both those courses and pain valley and all the courses up there are beautiful but the other one I think it's royal something. It's okay as well and still fun to play.
love your attitude man always come with some quality vids! your least expensive is in better condition than my most expensive at around 80-90 lol ever in shreveport would love to play a round wit ya👍 cant wait to see your reaction if you ever get an ace!
You mentioned the other courses at the expensive one and bringing buddies out there, do they offer a big group experience that everyone can throw in on?
Hi from Western Australia I play on a very nice public golf course with 27 holes (3 x 9) Maximum price for 18 holes (weekends) is $34 Australian, i.e. $22 US dollars Midweek is AUD28 or USD18.10 Unlimited rounds any time of the week is AUD30 (USD19.40) per week - paid monthly Good enough for me - have never longed to play anywhere else 🙂🙂🙂
Australia. The only country with more "throw-away space" than the US, lmao. Come to Europe guys, we manage to squeeze in a Golf course every 500 or so miles. You'd pay USD 19.40 just to look at it from afar.
Come play the Pete Dye in French Lick, IN … PGA course… think around $420-430 for 18. Got the Donald Ross also about 140 for 18. Very similar. Also have the links think 28 for 9 w cart . Also super nice
Not too far from there is a goat track called Diamond City Country Club. Super cheap course out in the middle of nowhere but super fun track! Would make for a great video. Front 9 is completely different from back 9! Grew up playing that course.
Josh.....come to Española, NM. I invite you to play with me at 2 great courses Buffalo Thunder 36 holes you'll love also Black Mesa which is 18 holes that are challenging!!!!!!!!! LETS GO!!!!!!!
@@JoshMayerGolf It’s a great course. Heading out to Hideaway Hills a little north of Allentown to check that out. Glad I came across your channel and looking forward to your videos!
I’ve been watching for about a month now and some how just learned your home town is in Pennsylvania!? Much less your hometown is less than 2 hours from mine. I’m not near the golfer you are but if there was a way to somehow golf with ya or just see ya sometime that’d be awesome.
I know that’s probably insanely stupid sounding and no RUclipsr would probably ever do that but I wanted to offer seeing as we’ve probably played the same courses a lot
Watched a video recently where a guy played in the desert town of Ranker Texas I think it was. The green fee was $5 bucks….which was $3 bucks to much 😂😂😂😂
The $60 one is fine with me. I'm not the type of guy that needs to be catered or needs disposable razors in the bathrooms. I just like to play, preferably when the course is not crowded.
Took me a minute to identify which course you were playing at, then I used the no tucked shirt to identify the $60 course. :). Honestly the cheaper course looked harder, it looked kind of narrow with lots of trees.
Hey fans, listen to the music change if you're having trouble figuring out which course is which because he switches back and forth regularly during this video....
I've seen a couple videos like this from golf youtubers, but never going back and forth WITH the music changing between venues (ahem, Mr. Horvat). Almost got the subscribe-- I'm just oddly picky with golf YT subs (only Rick and Bob currently).
I love your channel and I really wanted to finish this video but the camera work got me dizzy. perhaps an investment in a gimbal would be nice. Keep it up!
Your game doesn’t match your criticisms. Spend a day with the superintendent of the courses that you claim are below you and see what they do. Then get a lesson !
Can't believe 60 was the cheapest you could find
Yeah that was the cheapest I could find in Branson. I’m sure there are some cheaper courses right outside
@@JoshMayerGolfgot some $7 course here in socal 🤣
Ya but that was Branson which is a tourist town so that’s not bad at all…
I’m paying $110 to play thousand hills in 2 weeks. Shorter course but beautiful.
@@nofx714exactly I pay 8 to play at my course
Man, that $60 course seemed like a pretty good deal!

They share a practice facility with Ozarks national. Maybe a connection there 🤷♂️
I live here in Branson and have played many of the courses in the area. All the Big Cedar courses are incredible. Another beautiful one is Ledgestone in Branson West.
Ledgestone is great. Love playing that course when I'm there.
I'm feeling all kinds of weird that the cheapest Branson club is nicer than all of the courses I play regularly.
Solid course!

Great delivery & relaxed style, subbed.
I’ve played the 60 dollar course and I remember it being really tight. Made me pick smaller targets and I drove the ball very good.
You need to try River Pointe Golf Club located in Albany, Ga. Very nice course with challenging holes.
I’m 1000% making the course I pay $60 to play watch this and telling them they are a $25 course at best 😂
Are you golfing at a waste site? This course isn't even a good value for $60
Ya their not playing at a great course for $25 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Love the content mate keep it up!!
Appreciate you brother!
I have so many questions from the title to the cuts between course but what public course has a usable shower for public players… that’s top tier lol
I have enjoyed seeing your grow your channel... we are regular visitors to Branson!
There’s this great little 9x2 coarse near my house for 20$ 60$ is nuts!
Never knew you lived in Lancaster. Thats where im at as well!

When are you coming to Long Island? Would love to see you continue this series up here in New York.
Never golfed on Long Island. Would love to make the trip!
That 60 dollar one was crazy nice. I pay 8 to play 😂 with a membership but without one it’s still only like 20 to play. 60 being the cheapest is crazy

I have a friend that works at the point royale (60 dollar course) so I’ve played it a few times and it’s decent. I live in Springfield

Next time you're in Branson play Ledgestone with me! haha, it's a great course.
Where is this course at Sr looks like a really nice place worth the 65
that course is incredible for 60. the greens are mint

Damn just played paynes twice for my bachelor party. How did you get it so empty?! The practice area for chipping / pitching was insane
What was the name of the cheap course?
Do you live in or in the Branson area? I live near Harrison.
Branson Missouri is perfect for a golf trip. Expensive, but worth it

You should have used Arnold Palmer's locker. I don't think he'll be using it any time soon
I was so confused I thought that practice course was for the $60 place!

What course is the $60 one? I’m going to Branson in a few weeks and we’re looking for a decent course to play
He showed a sign with the course name...pilots point or something like that.....
I pay 26 for 18 holes where I live and its honesly pretty good ngl
$35 track still looks friggin smick though, id be happy to cut a lap out that way
Great track
60 is expensive for me LOL.
25 bucks gets you a good course in oklahoma.

Great video, shaky cam...
Jezzzz...the best courses here in Upstate NY is $70 lmfao other than Saratoga National GC.
There’s no way I’d spend $500 to play a round of golf unless it came with amenities like a massage by the cart girl ….🤪🤪🤪
Wow $60 that crazy for cheapest round.
That 19th hole is there just to get you to donate golf balls

There has to be courses cheaper then $60

Why does the thumbnail say $35?
would of preferred if you did each course individually in the video instead of jumping back and forth
Roger that
The 30-35 dollar courses near me are in a lot better shape than the 60 dollar one. Crazy how location can affect pricing like that
I'm dropping frames

$32 to walk 9
