- This was such an incredible moment to see the red-tailed hawklet Malala perched side by side with the eaglet Junior today! What a sweet moment to behold! The hawklet is about 7 weeks old now and fledged on June 25th so each day we get to see Malala is a treat!! This morning Malala enjoyed being fed a nice fish by Mom as well. Thank you for watching!

How amazing this family has became and the bond they shared is so fasinating..Precious Malala not only got accepted but Junior do adore her not forgetting momma who do treat her with special Care..

Totally agree, food is available and Junior had transformed completely to such a good sibling and this is what amazed me, mom must be thinking hawklet is one feisty fighter since the day Malala arrived his /her voice is getting louder!Begging for food must be one way of survival!

Why the hawklet screaming? It much louder than the eaglet very interesting
It’s hungry, hoping mom would drop by.
That’s why it’s still alive. He yelled and got fed and now vying for more from his adoptive Mom.
Malala has been vocalizing with an adult RTH, which can be heard in the distance. She did this several times throughout yesterday evening. And has done it on other occasions too.
Do you think these two have any clue as to their size difference?
Yes Malala knows she is the smaller one - and does get out of the way with incoming parents and when Junior is wingercising!
And....The Lion Shall Lie Down With The Lamb...(smile).

I can't think of how hawks vocalize. Does Malala sound more like an Eaglet than a Hawklet? UPDATE: I just did a search on YT - and yes, she sounds like a juvenile Hawklet... amazing!
Doesn't sound like she's saying..." Ma, ma, ma?"
There cries are similar that is one of the reasons why the eagle parents feed the hawklet - it sounds like their own eaglet! But the RTH is still distinct and does have a higher pitch!!

So sweet! It’s amazing how this has turned out! Malala has become part of the family and a friend to Junior, even helping to start him/her to wingersizing etc! ❤️

I wonder how long these two will maintain any relationship or know who they are after they both fledge?
The hawklet has already fledged and will not be staying around for too much longer. Junior the eaglet won't fledge for another couple of weeks - Malala will most likely be gone at that point - but you never know!

I am wrong, or Hawklet Malala is hungry and is calling Mom, with the same sound as an Eaglet!! 💕🐥🐟🦅🎶🐥
hawklet seems very happy to be where it is--- on the far side of the fledging Process-- Meanwhile Jr. seems to be practicing his Wing Exercises for his eventual Fledge Thanks L H. Every day this little hawk has survived is just a Miracle to me.

Malala is going to grow up as one of the few hawks that don't hate eagles. I mean until and eagle steals her hawklet.

Good morning Lady Hawk. I was so happy to see that video of the hawklet making its way back up to the nest. Judging by how weak it looked, it really wasn't ready to be away from the food deliveries 'winging' it in to them. 😄
You have to believe the parents know this is a hawk, but also seem to see this sibling relationship is good for both fledglings. In another video, the parent brought a large prey to the nest. About the size of the hawk (a duck?). They all fed side by side. I also noticed when they pan out the camera, there seems to be a parent always somewhere in view watching the nest. Seem very protective. Good thing there are two parents, that little hawk is a BIG eater. LOL
Any chance that the eagles will notice that Malala is no eaglet and just kill her? I don't want that that happens, but I think the sooner she leaves the nest the better her chance to survive.
As long as she is fed by 'her' parents, she will be fine. But I know how agressive eaglets can get if they have to compete for food....

omg, this is so precious! Little fledgling hawklet Malala, who, any day now will leave for good, and (relatively) big Junior, still developmentally younger than Malala, its AS ‐ acquired sibling (or... Acquired Sibling Syndrome?😅)! So sweet, side-by-side, close together as possible, each looking at the other then LH edits so at 4:58-5:01 we see they've switch sides. Such comaraderie, they will miss each other when Malala leaves; mama & papa Eagle will also miss their adopted child.🥲💞
