Full of admiration for your taking on this dangerous job. Sign of your commitment. Also very impressed that you tucked back into the nest structure, the twigs clutched by the young birds as you removed them, the nest looks so spindly that it needs every twig the parents must have carefully woven into it. Amazing you could be so thoughtful whilst virtually dangling in midair yourself. Sincere thanks from this human being, on behalf of our next generations, and our planet.
Yeah, I would have thought this too dangerous for a human to climb. That tree looks like it was going to fall over. I can't believe people risk their lives for this ringing of the birds.
Hello, very special to see and you have a lot of guts climbing in this tree with the small branches!! You are doing very positive work there. Greetings Gijs
Fantastic! 6 young too! Beautiful! Really glad to hear they all fledge successfully. I’m assuming this was earlier in the year? I always expected them to nest in much taller, older and sturdier tree’s.that tree looks like its about to buckle under your weight 😂 Truely amazing footage though. Thanks for sharing it.👍
Yes it was around 4th july this year! there was a fiar bit of sway that tree lol! I wenty up a ladder which got me half way up then climbed the rest! aprox 30ft
@@Glasgowurbanwildlife your damn right it is. You could break your neck falling from that height.when I said a bruise I was being extremely sarcastic as a joke.😂
An excellent video, It was nice to have a close up view of the nest and chick's. Sparrowhawks nest in a variety of places. I was impressed how the man managed to scale this tree, as the trunk was thin towards the top... 🙂👍🏻
Steve, have you ever watched the full version of this film about the sparrowhawk: ruclips.net/video/c1zBIbPzLE4/видео.html&ab_channel=SparrowhawkIsland ? I wonder if it is possible to find this film on the Internet.
Lucky you are! It is problematic for me to get the dvd, because of the shipping. On the Internet there is no possibility to buy (for downloading) or to watch the film:(

Very large brood to all fledge successfully! I had the small one pinned as doomed until i saw the last note.
First class Steven. Very professionally done. 👍⭐️
Thankyou David !
Now I understand why they always wear hats when doing this.

Is that normal for sparrowhawks to have so many chicks? Have you spotted any of them since they left the nest. How far do they disperse?
Yes 4-6 is the norm ! I havent spotted any! they are tricky to spot! They dont usually go too far maybe 20-30 miles at most but there is exceptions!
i want it how can i get it
Mommy: "Don't touch my babies you wingless..." I should not say the rest 😉
