One of those awesome feel-good songs from 1988. Me and my lady both still dance to this one and we are now in our 60s. It really gives us a burst of energy. Music is one of the best gifts that we have to listen to.
What an ingenious tune, slide guitar, ragtime groove, that swingin hi-hat with big band bass drum, and Tyler's scratchy vocals. This song never gets old, so many layers of influence. It sounds just as unique now as it did in the hot summer of '87.

Part of their resurgence...after years of conflict, lineup changes, drugs and alcohol abuse, they came back with a vengeance. Permanent Vacation has to be one of the best comeback albums of all time (though they did release Smoke and Mirrors not long before, but I consider that the opening act for this album). They got clean, got focused and got back to doing what they do best. This is one of my favorite Aerosmith tracks from this era.
Finally we got the remastered version of this video. I might be showing my age, but I remember seeing this video almost every hour on MTV back in the day. Also this needs to played more on classic rock radio.
Aerosmith wasn’t just a band that had been around for a long time, they actually had hits that charted for multiple generations. 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s…I can’t wrap my mind around that.
Not just the artists but the actual producers behind the scenes. Bruce Fairbairn produced this album. He did a lot of work with Loverboy, Bon Jovi, AC/DC and other major bands.

They had a fairly rough ride from late 70's to just about the time of this song (and album), wasn't all happy go lucky for them, what you see in this vid is the start of Aerosmith Mark II.
@@chelsblue7370 Yea, I've heard before that they didn't have an easy time throughout that period. I know they sort of fell off at one point due to the bands drug addiction.
Their prime, performance wise, was actually probably mid-late 90s. They were high as kites in the 70s and early 80s. Late 80s they were kinda figuring out how to do it sober. 90s to early 2000s was peak Tyler vocals. But heck, go see them now if you get a chance. They’re still really good live today.
Aerosmith made it big in the early to middle 70s, their content dropped in the late 70s, then got better in the mid to late 80s, and then probably peaked somewhere in the 90s. If you never got a chance to see them play this funky blues number live in 87'-89' just know that it was absolutely spot on and tight. These guys only put out records over the years as a launch pad for their live shows. Epic live!
The only reason I am listening to this is because when me and my family are on a car road trip we take turns and listen to music, and my dad picked this song when it was his turn and said he listened to this when he was 15 and I really liked it lol
❤ Aerosmith was my very favorite band in high school (the 70's). I saw them in concert in '77. Then I had kids & didn't go to concerts for years. My kids went to the same high school as me. Steven Tyler was born to Rock. Charismatic, super confident...the ultimate showman. I can't belive he is still alive ....with all that Rock and Roll excess. Compare that with Freddie Mercury of Queen....who fizzled away at just 44. Some guys have a death wish...and other guys live kingsize....
It had been nearly 15 years after they charted their first single and they were only getting better. What a beat and melody. 1988 had some really great songs. Real music to party to.
Finalmente postaram esse clássico! Meu primeiro vinil em meados de 2003 que comprei na Galeria do Rock, escuto com a mesma vontade até hoje! Valeu Aerosmith!! 🍺😎🤘

It's worth celebrating bands that have longevity, but I do wish that the #1 comment would more frequently be something of substance being added to the conversation.
This is when Aerosmith was at their very best. Good times being clean and kicking ass. Permanent Vacation is an underrated album. It is stacked. You may not understand what they are doing, but I get it.
This is from 1987/88. By then, the very bands that were dominating the scene (Guns and Mötley) were directly influenced by Aerosmith, who were enjoying such a comeback and thriving in the game and showing they were the real deal. Very, very few bands did that and Aerosmith got to be even bigger than in the 70s.
I'm a huge Guns N' Roses fan and you can tell where those legends got their influences from. Loving Aerosmith so far. They were (are still) the real deal.
This was actually my first exposure to Aerosmith as a kid. Steven Tyler was this funny enigma. Joe Perry look studly workin that guitar. Plus the scat at the end was hilarious to sing along with.
This song just takes me back to my teenage years.
Right on! Same!
Wow you are young.
I don't know how they put this much positivity, swagger, grove and rock 'n' roll in one song. It's perfect.

Hmm, just like a bad boy
I'm rippin' up a rag doll
Like throwin' away an old toy
Some babe's talkin' real loud
Talkin' all about the new crowd
Try and tell me of an old dream
A new version of the old scene
Speak easy on the grapevine
Keep shufflin' in a shoeshine
Old tin lizzy, do it till you're dizzy
Give it all ya got until you're put out of your misery
Rag doll, livin' in a movie
Hot tramp, daddy's little cutie
You're so fine, they'll never see ya leavin'
By the back door, ma'am
Hot times, get it while it's easy
I don't mind, come on up and see me
Rag doll, baby, won't you do me
Like you done before?
Yes, I'm movin'
Yes, I'm movin'
Get ready for the big time
Tap dancing on a land mine
Yes, I'm movin'
Yes, I'm movin'
Old tin lizzy, do it till you're dizzy
Give it all ya got until you're put out of your misery
Rag doll, livin' in a movie
Hot tramp, daddy's little cutie
You're so fine, they'll never see ya leavin'
By the back door, ma'am
Hot times, get it while it's easy
I don't mind, come on up and see me
Rag doll, baby, won't you do me
Baby, won't you do me
Baby, won't you do me
Like you done before?
Yes, I'm movin'
Yes, I'm movin'
Get ready for the big time
Get crazy on the moonshine
Yes, I'm movin'
I'm really movin'
Sloe gin fizzy, do it till you're dizzy
Give it all ya got until you're put out of your misery
Rag doll, livin' in a movie
Hot tramp, daddy's little cutie
You're so fine, they'll never see ya leavin'
By the back door, ma'am
Hot times, get it while it's easy
I don't mind, come on up and see me
Rag doll, baby, won't you do me

Amo Aerosmith. Amo Steven Tyler ❤❤ 🇧🇷
Os cara são diferenciado
Aerosmith Forever 🤙🤙🤙
Forever 💗🥰
Steven Tyler was born to Rock. Charismatic, super confident...the ultimate showman. I can't belive he is still alive ....with all that Rock and Roll excess. Compare that with Freddie Mercury of Queen....who fizzled away at just 44. Some guys have a death wish...and other guys live kingsize....
This song never gets old.
This is one of the MTV videos I remember the most as a teenager . Aerosmith been in my brain for many a year 🤘 Rock&Roll legends man
Uma das melhores da carreira deles.
Artificial intelligence will never write anything like this😂
Call it… Snow bunny yum
Damn Straight Honey!!!! 😉
"Tap dancing on a landmine" is such a brilliant lyric
Yes. Steven Tyler is easily one of the best rock lyricists ever.
It had been nearly 15 years after they charted their first single and they were only getting better. What a beat and melody. 1988 had some really great songs. Real music to party to.
Aerosmith's rag doll reached at number 12 on the mainstream rock charts and at number 17 on hot billboard 100
Finalmente postaram esse clássico!
Meu primeiro vinil em meados de 2003 que comprei na Galeria do Rock, escuto com a mesma vontade até hoje!
Valeu Aerosmith!! 🍺😎🤘
I have not been lucky enough to go to one of their concerts yet, I hope that all this happens soon and they can come to LATAM :3
I want them to come to Pittsburgh!
I had forgotten how good this song is! Wow!
This song is so fun ❤
Увидела в рекомендации в музыкальных. Как перестать это слушать????!!!!!!!!!!
Click on the three dots directly to the right of the video, and then click on 'not interested in channel,' or' do not recommend.'
Finally ❤️ How long i’ve waited to see this video on Aerosmith’s official videography 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I really LOVE this song ❤️✨
Me too lol 😂
Most Aerosmith fans don't realize that Steven Tyler is a scat man and does an impression of Mae West in this song.
Aerosmith is TIMELESS!!! So Few can cross these borders....🤘💋🤘
The drum groove is amazing, Joey Kramer is underrated
LOVE Joey!!!!
One of their best songs! Can't believe they JUST posted this one?! FINALLY! 🙌🔥
My favorite element of the song is the sound of the drums 🥴
The drumming is perfect.❤❤❤
I'm 78 years old and still love this song by Aero Smith . I first heard it in 1976 on A. F. R.N. Airmed Forces Radio Network while stationed in Germany.
This one, was the first song and video from Aerosmith that I kwew! I love you guys! I was 13 then, now I am 46 and still loving you!

Hello super fan !! Thanks for the love and support, Where are you watching from ?
Anyone else sick of "is anyone else here in so and so year?!?"?
It's worth celebrating bands that have longevity, but I do wish that the #1 comment would more frequently be something of substance being added to the conversation.
Could listen to Aerosmith all day man . :)
Very, very few bands did that and Aerosmith got to be even bigger than in the 70s.
how not to love Aerosmith ??? simply incredible!!!!!
Wait til you hear the*Postmodern Jukebox " version of it!
aerosmith is one of the greatest bands in the world
Fantastic ❤❤❤❤
