      @christopherredman2184 Месяц назад +14

      yeah really fuckin stupid of villain. I get if hero's kicker doesn't play there's no jackpot, but the potential to get 12k when your opponent has 50 combos of AT - AK makes it an obvious choice. Sometimes it'll be an A with no kicker and maybe JJ. But given the fact that it could still be a bluff AND half the time hero has a qualifying BBJ hand its a snap call. Ridiculous.

    • @KnowLoveMovement
      @KnowLoveMovement Месяц назад +10

      @@christopherredman2184 Its much more stupid of "hero" to make that bet that puts the JP in jeopardy.

    • @christopherredman2184
      @christopherredman2184 Месяц назад +2

      @@KnowLoveMovement I see both sides of the argument. but for reasons i listed it would be really dumb for villain to fold TT when more than half of the hands that beat him are qualifying jackpot hands. You also beat missed hearts & counterfeit full houses. They're all lucky the floor didn't disqualify them for Goone saying "if he had a BBJ hand, it would already be in the middle" as that was a pretty obvious clue that they have one

    • @donaldcedar7574
      @donaldcedar7574 Месяц назад +3

      Aces full of 10's have to be beat by a 4 of a kind of better. If our hero had JJ QQ or KK he just loses the pot and doesn't get the BBJ.

    • @christopherredman2184
      @christopherredman2184 Месяц назад +1

      @@donaldcedar7574 ... I'm aware that those hands would not be jackpot, but hero never has KK or QQ. Those would unquestionably 4 bet given the dead $ and likelihood that he's ahead. JJ probably 4 bet as well since it will usually be difficult to play 4 handed postflop. So realistically villain is pretty much only afraid of A2-A8s hands. More combos of jackpot there. It's a no brainer with the big ass jackpot on the line. Like not even close to a fold.

This would be a better jam if you had a hand like A5 because youre not risking losing the jackpot and hes incentivized to call and hit the large end. I think the QQs fold was maybe a mistake. Only hand I can think of him doing with is JTo with one heart, semi bluffing on the turn and hitting a straight on the river. If he had a flush, he would never slow play it like this...the turn bet was too small if he hit a flush; two high cards in your range he would not bet this little for value; and another heart would ruin his hand. And for the river why would he check and not get any value from the top pair who could easily just check behind. I don't know about this one. I think he got a lower set and he is ashamed of the shove and just didn't show.

      exactly its not really a spot where he guaranteed wins. yes he beats bluffs. yes he wins a ton of money if Marc has an Ace but there still is a small class of hands in the middle that he just loses to.
      Granted I’m almost sure that the value of the BBJ is high enough that it’s worth it to lose to those middling hands some percentage of the time that it’s a 100% call with Tens.
      All that being said though, the BBJ is so high that it might not be worth it to go for an extra 1k in value if there’s even a small chance of folding out a hand that would’ve made the jackpot. It’s something I’d need to calculate bc intuition can only go so far but I really wouldnt be surprised

Actually as a very long time poker player over 25 years have learned a lot from you do thank you for that. Now to the point, I agree with you I don't know why the table or anyone is mad at you. I have hit the bad beat before quads over quads I was on the loosing end. One the looser makes more money. Two this guy like you said shouldn't care he wins or looses as he will make more money back. Unless he was new to poker or hardly ever plays he should already know that! As well if your playing 5/10 surly he isn't new to poker he should of been happy you went all in as well as happy to loose. Unless he just thought you were bluffing but even then if so he would call to win the pot. So I don't understand or know why anyone was mad at you. If would be one think if it was before the flop to call all in with pocket 10s. So honestly nobody should be mad at all but instead congratulating you because your end was harder. Just my thoughts. Great job dude. Jay from Tennessee 😎

    at 29:00 I personally find that a lot of players get scared on the river that they wont make money with their made hands so when it goes check raise all in I would believe it is a bluff more than usual as they often would be scared of the check around and losing out their value. could be wrong tho

    Ok I need help with a leak. I typically buy in with 200bb at my games, while others will go 300 to infinity, so I’m the short stack but it’s what I’m comfortable with. When I have to jam for bluff or get max value, feels easier. But all crushers buy super deep. How do I get comfortable with being deep?

      is it really a “leak” if you’re winning money? you dont seem to want to raise ur buy-in bc buying in with 200bb is losing you money… you want to up your buy in bc “all the crushers” do. imo thats not really a reason.

    Hard to assume what the exact rules are. I think in some casinos (I don't think you said what the rule was here) they require you to use both hands for the jackpot. Meaning if he had 10's but you had something like A3 then it wouldn't be a jackpot since your 3 wouldn't play. In that case it might've been better to just call his raise because if he folds then you're losing more money. Even if that's not the case if the loser of the hand in this instance thought so it would lose to money lost. Also back in my home town, any talks about the hand like this would void the jackpot...

    • @klawdog

      In most casinos, including this one, yes both cards in your hand must play so only A9 or better kicker would qualify. The table talk hints weren't direct comments about both players hands qualifying. His buddy saying to him, why would you do that (go all-in and risk the other guy folding a jackpot) was not wrong. Unfortunately the vlogger edited out his comments about how he didn't care about getting the jackpot money and he just wanted to win the most money from his opponent.
      If you bet or play a hand and make an opponent fold a jackpot hand AFTER the river is out, then you played it wrong🤷🏾‍♀️ Periodt. If you hear a poker player at a cash game say they only cared about winning the $ in the pot and didn't care about winning the jackpot, then you know they are lying or bsing you. Periodt. It would have been more believable if he said he wasn't thinking about it, or forgot about the jackpot right when he hit the ace. It would have been more believable if he said he didn't care about the jackpot bc apparently he's on some $100/hr quest and only wanted the opponent's call. Yet then again all-in with a fold loses money for that also. Again his buddy was right about, "why would he do that" in either way. putting the guy all-in was NOT a typical situation of, "I bet an amount where I knew you had to call or that you couldn't fold."

    I am always amazed that people at low stakes "play for the Bad Beat" jackpot, and get mad if you don't check down. On top of that most casinos will not pay the jackpot if people discuss it during the hand, so I am surprised that the casino was willing to even pay.

      it's not whack if you want to clear the $2k table share of the $30k jackpot. You left out the part where the vlogger himself had to do all the talking and hinting because only he knew he had the qualifying hand. His buddy in the 1 seat had to suggest vlogger give him a hint once the other player went into the tank for awhile. Vlogger edited out some of the hints were he eventually said he was gonna shut up now or quit talking/hinting. Still took the guy a bit of thinking to call of his whole stack after the vlogger quit talking.
      The assumption should be the vlogger wasn't thinking about the jackpot when he went all-in covering the other player who had over $1k in chips. You must be misreading the body language of the pocket 10s hand loser bc obviously he made the call just because he had hints from the vlogger that the vlogger had the qualifying A hand and he knew his tens qualified or else he would have folded🤔 duh.

    • @_Coffee4Closers
      @_Coffee4Closers Месяц назад

      @@klawdog I didn't leave out anything about the talking, I made no reference to who was talking. I said talking about it during the hand is a disqualification in most casinos. The Vlogger makes the perfect point, you you miss. If his opponent has a hand that would qualify there is no way he is ever folding there, if he does not have such a hand then the Hero might as well get what he can from the villain. There is no way to account for a low IQ villain that does not understand he might win that jackpot, but that's on him not the hero in the hand.
      If you are limping your pocket 4's and trying to check down for your 1:1000000 chance to win the bad beat good for you... those of us that are winning intelligent players could care less about those silly things. I wish that promotion money was never taken from the table in the first place so I can use skill to take my share of it. If I wanted to leave it to luck I would not be at the poker table I would be at the Roulette wheel.

    You have to be *Extremely* careful w table talk during a bad beat jackpot I dropped out of college to work and play poker in Las Vegas and been in a couple bad beats over years and dealer friends of mine would say never talk about the hand during a bad beat bc if you influence action in anyway they can technically deny you the jackpot. For instance say at Excalibur in 2010 just what was said in this video would’ve been enough to deny the jackpot. “That c’mon give him a hint” would’ve been the end of it.

    The table is upset because you mess with their money - they would do the same if they were in your position. It would be sick if he would fold though, because you can genuinely have kings and he would just lose and no jackpot...
    Just a reminder to folks at home - you cannot show the hand, and cannot say what you got - don't mess with the casino
