I hope that you dont lose motivation on this series. It is easy for me though to mod the game how I want it to be and barely even play it. Its like I just like the process of modding. So keep up the series!
My aim is to allow people to learn how to mod from start to finish and then attempt it themselves. The problem is, there are many areas that aren't as interesting as others. Most channels simply skip over these because they won't do as well as exciting areas, but for me, I feel it would be a disservice to skip areas that don't "attract a large audience". I owe it to myself to stay true to my aim and create a guide to help and not to grow. But it can take a hit as they're harder to write in a way that is even somewhat entertaining. I agree with your point, I only 'play' to get the footage now anyway but I remember I'd spend more time modding than playing aha. I really appreciate your motivation and support thank you so much. Honestly, it means everything to me and really does keep me going. I'm forever grateful for that.
@ADHDecent no matter how I install this tool it always says faital can't find ini file try running game launcher I have GOG skyrim btw any help would be appreciated also where am I supposed to install sseedit at in program files or somewhere else any help would be appreciated
I'm about to put more effort into my own load order and SSEedit is going to be my best friend in a minute. That was a great introduction and I look forward to seeing more, I'm gonna need it. 😎👍
+1: I really need a current guide, I think I just wrecked my update.esm file trying to remove a wild edit from Apocalypse with Quick Clean. I feel like I’m wandering around a dark room and repeatedly barking my shins.
After following your first 10 part guide I've been looking to take the next step and here you are again with just what I needed. Many thanks for your work.
Your very first video had me saving the entire playlist as I will DEFINITELY need this guide for modding all of my future playthroughs. THANK YOUUUUU!!!
Ey you also made an SSEEdit video! Nice! I looked up "SSEEdit tutorial 2024" and clicked this without even realizing I had also watched your How to use MO2 Tutorial. You're very good at leading people along through instruction. I didn't just get a basic modlist set up, I actually LEARNED how to mod. My list is almost over 200 now, and it's all thanks to your videos
I'm honored! Welcome back! I'm glad I've been able to help and it's truly awesome to hear I've been able to actually help learning how it's all done and not just providing the steps as you'll be much more prepared that way! Means alot to have your support I'm forever grateful.
Decent, thanks for these videos, they are amazingly clear and easy to follow. I’ve just reached the point in my modding journey where sseedit becomes necessary, and I’m excited to watch you explain sseedit in greater detail. I’m looking forward to the day when I’m able to create my own mods, and I’m thinking you might be the guy I give credit to for teaching me how to do it.
This was brilliant! Thank you so much, you are the herald of a new age of modding, I am absolutely certain of that :) I'm just getting into mod creation now, been learning Blender to create weapon mods, starting nice and slowly, and thought that porting an LE mod to SE could be a nice way of releasing my first mod. I need SSEdit for that so this was very useful! Truly hope you're doing well!
Thank you for this guide. I have watched every episode of these series. I played the game back when it first came out and recently got back into it after being underwhelmed by StarField. I just started modding the game back in December after the surprise update and feel like I was just fumbling a lot. When I heard there was another update coming, I switched to FO4. After my game wouldn’t save with a level 90 character, I rebuilt my mod list for that game, but was dealing with a lot of CTD and game freezes that I couldn’t figure out, so I came back to Skyrim. I decided to build a new mod list this time around and had been watching the first parts of this series, so when I started friday afternoon, I started the series over again.
damn did all your steps today i had modded previously but know i feel like i know way more also ill be messing around with nemessis instead of fnis this time around lets see how long it takes before my skyrim breaks, ILL BE FOLLOWING THE REST ! thanks subscribed and always a like.
This series has saved me many headaches. I don’t know if you plan to do it but it would be cool to see how to fit in a mod to vault over stuff or a mod to change how the fast travel map looks or how the compass looks.
There are world map mods that will be mentioned in my own suggestions at the end of the series. I know there are compass ones too which I believe are straight forward enough. Appreciate the support and glad I could help!
What to do when u get a Fatal: Could not open registry key: SOFTWARE BETHESDA error since i quit playing skyrim on steam i have this issue i use GOG now and i tryed allot of troubleshooting help!
This playlist has been an absolute godsend getting back into moding skyrim. Always great info. The only thing i will say [as someone who is watching this series to learn in general, and not coming here for specific problem solving] is that a few of these videos could do with a bit more of Why we are using these programs before you get into the How. It's wonderful to know how to install and how to do things in it, but harder to grasp what's going on when i have no idea what i would be needing this program for and I'm 2/3rds into the video before i even know what it would be used for in my setup. It's great if you come into this already knowing that you need the program and just need to know how to use it, but as part of a series that's about basics, I had no clue what I need this for until about minute 9 where you tell me i can mess with mod content. I can digest info a lot simpler if im given the Why first, it puts things into a context to help understanding. Just a little bitesize part at the beginning to to "SSEEdit is a useful tool to clean mods, resolve conflicts and edit mod content [give an example]" would have made this easier to digest from the start. Because every other thing you do a great job at breaking down, but as someone who knows next to nothing there's always 50% of videos about stuff I've never touched before where I just don't know why we are doing a dang thing, and it doesn't have to be in depth just literally "it cleans up and allows changes to mods" would have gone a long way. And I'm nitpicking because the structure is otherwise great, it's just something I've noticed over the past 2 days of modding my game, where I'm watching the videos and the nagging question in my brain is going "OK, but WHY?" for the stuff I'm brand new to [i also have ADHD, I think it's a side effect lmao]
I appreciate the kind words thank you. And you're absolutely right it's something that has been noted for future. I started to do this with the Animations but of course at that point it was almost over. Originally it was to avoid the videos dragging out but I agree it's a fine line to get right and next year when it's replacement comes out it will be restructured in a new way to provide this :-)
Hello friend, thank you for your modification guide. I really spent days trying to modify my Skyrim, and it wasn't until I saw your guide that I learned to modify my game correctly. Thank you very much. I wanted to ask if you're planning to make a guide in the future for adding physics to the game. It's the only thing I can't do without crashing the game 🙃🙃
Thank you!Keep going 😁 Im understanding it a lot easier now. This might help me with npc mods. I can't seem to figure out how to add specific ones from multiple mods.
I followed the instructions for the video step by step (and followed the steps for almost all your other videos) but when I launch xedit I get the pop up "There are no modules in the data folder", I've spent severel hours over the past few days trying to figure out how to fix this with no luck, do you know what I did wrong or how to fix it?

Question; so I’m about to basically re-do my Skyrim mods, and restart my game, from scratch thanks to your series. However, I wanted to know if , when I’m done with the current list you have now, I will be able to keep my game save? As in, by the time you upload something new, I will probably be a few levels up and have items that I don’t want to start over again. Or will my modding journey end here, because the incoming additions would ruin my save file? Thanks again! P.s: is USSEP mandatory too? Or can you do without it for your list? Love your series man!!!
This looks like a really useful tool for those who want to really mess around with mods at a very very detailed level. Anyone who changes these files will no doubt have to rebuild there dyndolod output files also?
Depends what alterations they make. If it's landscape then yeah. Dyndolod should be installed after you've chosen your landscaping mods ideally otherwise you'll need to regenerate when you make changes
@@ADHDecent I’ve chosen landscape mods now in line with your recommendations. I was really hesitant at first to go down the cathedral route and uninstall the ENB. Boy was that small effort worth it tenfold! The game looks better with Cathedral than it ever did with the ENB imo
I'm really glad you liked it. I wanted to provide both options for personal preference as ENB can be heavier on PCs and more confusing to get right whereas Cathedral is much lighter and easier to install. I also personally love the results a bit more but of course that's just my own preference :-)
Very good video, but I have a problem and that is that I play Skyrim SE from the Xbox Game pass APP and apparently when I install the xEdit it does not recognize that the file Skyrim.ini exists even if I extract it in the same location. Is there any other program to remove harmful plugins? PD: The Mod Organizer 2 also doesn't recognize the Xbox APP as a gaming platform for modding. I use Vortex
Will you be making a video on how to enable animation mods like idles walking and combat animations? I am very new to modding and can't quite figure out how to activate them
Very well explained, however my skyrim is fucking itself rn, was playing perfectly fine earlier today and now it crashes on startup. Tried to use SSEEDIT to help find the problem but no such luck.
ssedit dosnt work with the GOG version and i did fine some people claiming that they fixed it but they were incapable of talking in anything that wasnt computer jargon.
it changes with each video due to testing for conflicts etc at the moment for the future videos but once it settles I will create a list and share it :)
Hey man thanks for the complete walkthrough, just have a question, I'm planning on adding a few mods of my own, do I just use the separators we made as guides on where to put the mods (taking into account load orders and mod priority) for example where would I need to put Ordinator or Serana Dialogue Add-On (I'm guilty with this mod : P)
Edit: I'm adding my own edit to this comment, in case anyone else ever has this problem. I was able to resolve it by extracting to the MO2 folder. I could not get it to work outside of that. Original Post: I cannot get SSEEdit to launch from MO2 no matter what I do. It briefly looks like it will, then doesn't. It is installed to: ....\Games\Steam Games\Skyrim SE\mods\ directory. I'm about to pull my hair out. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you!
Glad you've sorted it. For future, don't install any applications inside Skyrim SE mods folder. Keep applications elsewhere outside of Program files where MO2 can access them
