I've been a huge fan of Maxim Vengerov for such a longer time. I just can't quite pinpoint (the year) when he switched Strads officially to the 1727 Kreutzer. The famous video of him playing Sibelius in full with Barenboim shows us the Ex-Kiesewetter and then at some point there's a switch. Also when Maxim plays the Tchaikovsky with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic he's playing on the Ex-Reynier Strad. I do know that a kind Japanese lady helped Maxim fund the acquisition of the violin. I just want to know when the Kreutzer made its first appearance and even, if possible, what the first concert was where he used it!
I don't know if this is the reason, but the pianist made some clear mistakes at the intro, but in my opinion it is no reason to ommit it, nothing to worry about. Vengerov nailed it 🔥
Dear Maxim, thank you for these beautiful videos! I've been trying to find a video of yours I remember seeing years ago: Hubay's Zephyr. It was in the same recital you gave with Itamar Golan in Amsterdam in which you also played Bazzini's Ronde and Wieniawski's D major Polonaise. Has the video of the recital been released since? I can't happen to find it on the internet! Hope you or someone from your staff can read this comment. Thank you so much in advance!

Maxim wengerov similes both violinist and vocalist. In my thinking his vibration is very good and butifull.

Is the cutoff at the beginning intentional?
