- "Suga" Sean O'Malley recalls when Henry Cejudo (former bantamweight champ) tried to give Khabib Nurmagomedov striking lessons. Suffice to say... Khabib was not impressed. Khabib's advice to Henry? Forget about striking distance control and wrestle. Excerpt taken from The Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show #147.
Khabib ‘Just Wrestle’ Nurmagomedov 😂
khabib was right Henry was tryna have a distance battle with aljo and that why he lost instead of trying to wrestle
Khabib looking at him like “why you karate boy all of a sudden” 😂
He made khabib cringe. Triple C the King of cringe.
A genius, he immediately saw his bad approach. CCC is a wrestler.
You can see Henry face like damn I am an Olympic wrestler
Confused Khabib was like why are you doing this brother
We don't need distance just wrestle man LMAO
You’re an Olympic Champ, just wrestle, is the most honest and best advice Henry should take
"You don't need distance, wrestle - you olympic champion"
I remember Khabib said "The number one mistake wrestlers do is they became boxers."
The first time Henry needed to be reminded he was a gold medalist
Khabib is ao right there "U are olimpic wrestle Just Wrestle" Do what u know best to win
Khabib is wise. There is a reason he went undefeated. He knew his strengths and he stuck to it.
Sometimes we do over complicate things by getting too analytical, being too analytical while being an active fighter is not good because there are dangers of getting mentally stuck with wrong perception. Khabib just saw through that told Henry not to over complicate it.
Khabib message was just do what youre good at
He's honestly looking out for his Fellow Wrestler by reminding him that Wrestling is the best in MMA...
Love that khabib didn’t put him down. Just told him he was so good at what he did that he didn’t need any distance. Need more of that in the sport and the world.
"Brother, you dont need distance, just Wrestle and Smesh"
“You’re Olympic champion. Jus wrestle man”
