Trellising your Hoyas and other vining plants

In this episode I show you great examples of how to trellis your Hoyas and other vining plants.There are many ways to display your Hoyas on trellises.When you train your Hoya early you can showcase the plant in beautiful ways.Once your Hoya feels secure it will sprout leaves from all of its nodes and continue to grow more fully.The art of trellising your vining plants is a great way to showcase your specimen. Great video! I've definitely gotten myself stuck with one of my hoyas that I initially trellised on a 2 foot+ U shaped bamboo trellis ( my h. Macrophylla) and because it's so tall I've been having to let the vines grow WAY too long at the top before I can wrap it down on the other side and attach it at the bottom. This means I either have to let the vines dry up OR I have to let these super long vines grow out that just look strange and get in the way🤦😂 definitely wish I had seen a video like this when I was choosing its trellis😆💚

Hi Lauren Thank You...I wanted this video to help people with their Trellis dicisions because it can definitely be a problem later when choosing the wrong one..Speaking from experience. It can be a tricky process.Maybe if you add another bamboo trellis criss cross then you can keep wrapping the vine around and around. It should keep growing and then you can fill up the trellis nicely. Hope that helps.

I absolutely enjoyed your video. Your Hoyas are so lush and healthy. The blooms are gorgeous. They all look so happy. Lots of good, positive energy. May I ask were you found the globe trellis. Did I hear the dollar store? Was this recently?

Hi Carmen Thanks..Yes at Dollar Tree they had these wire forms in the plant section..But I did have to reconfigure the wire so I could use it as a trellis. I think it was supposed to be used as a Moss Ball for planting. In my Trellising Hoyas video I showed it with the name the packaging had. It was a couple of months ago...🙂
