Going to the office is the biggest grind that's not worth it.

Chamath critisizing a CEO not wanting to stay past 6 while on his 6th vacation of the year while multiple of his funds disbanded because he was perpetually absent is hillariously hypocritical lmao. No wonder he turned it into a family office, even staying until 6 was too long for him.

"Does America value performance or comfort? I think comfort is winning and that's bad"
-some dude doing a remote podcast from the comfort of his own home.

RTO = Global Warming ... /sarc Seriously, I understand what Eric and everyone is saying. Start-ups , sure, ladder climbing sure. Suck up to the boss, sure. You have to be in the game and close if you are doing one of those things. But, I think people need to break remote work down into "types" of work instead of just screaming "get back to the office". I don't believe there is a productivity gain either. BS. Now, Gen ZorX work life balance. I call BS on that as well. Get the work done and then you can pet your dog on your time. What, you network just shat itself at 1:00 am and you expect the NE to drive an hour into work to fix it. FN man, your going to expect that person to login remote and save the day. Different type of "remote work".

Ironic you all are talking about working in office when you’re all in separate places. Why don’t you all meet together if it’s such a boon to succes?

Funny how all four of these guys preach working from home while one dude takes his meeting overlooking Lake Travis, Austin another on his balcony and the other two hiding their background. Why don’t you set an example and put your desk in cubicle or open seating desk and take private calls to a “focus” room. I’ll wait…

there is no mentorship at work. Stop gaslighting. A handful of folks get selected well in advance for mentorship, the rest are shit out of luck and wasting their time/lives. They might as well reclaim time in their day THROUGH remote work.

I've found two mentors, doubled my income and started a company that is a front for off-shore developers. All while being remote. I've been able to travel and meet interesting people and go to interesting events while delivering far more value than at a shared desk. I've done 5 years in the office and 5 years remote. Remote is totally worth it. Save the environment, our families and our health. Encourage remote. At least hybrid.

I'm assuming they don't outsource any of their work overseas. Oh what, they do? Pray tell, how often do they mentor these folks face to face? 😂

Kills growth in the old way. Mentorship at work has evolved. The author has not figure that out yet.
