Travel question: when embarking upon a world tour, how much do you pack? What sorts of things do you bring vs. stuff that is provided for you/the band?
I am properly impressed with Freja's impeccable taste. Pancakes are, without a doubt, one of the most incredible and simple foods of all, especially with lots of butter and real Canadian maple syrup! That also brings to mind one of my favourite expressions: "As easy as eating pancakes." In fact, I think that sounds like a great idea for lunch, so if you'll excuse me...
While I love a good maple syrup I really don't use it in large amounts. I usually prepare mine with a hint of lemon juice and baking soda in the batter to really make them light and fluffy and melt in the mouth, then butter and very light amount of syrup and lemon zest on top. Other toppings I use are caramelized bananas, Applesauce or fresh cut apples, granola, even cooking bacon into the pancake
I think you may be thinking about the wrong type of pancake. The ones I suspect Floor would make are Dutch ones. These are much thinner (but not as thin as the French crepes) and about 20-25cm. Structure is different too, less spongy.
In Australia we would say - as easy as pie! mmmm a meat pie is now calling me to lunch! and Maple syrup is the bomb for adding sweetness to anything :D
@@jeffshafer9079 Is that what "Canadian bacon" is? I'm Canadian, so we don't call anything that, but I always thought the so-called "Canadian" bacon was just peameal bacon without the peameal or something else equally silly. Personally I like sausages and some sliced apple on the side, anyways.

Years ago I was listening to an Operatic Metal compilation, and one of the songs on there was "Digital Deceit" by, of course... After Forever! And I always thought it was a great song. But then I only discovered Nightwish and your singing this year (its been a great year)! So to then realize I had heard such a great song by you years earlier was quite the revelation! Not sure if you will ever revisit those songs, but I have to say your singing has grown so much but it was already very very good way back then! You bring joy to so many. Just wanted to let you know!
Being a Nightwish fan is interesting traveling. Went to Turkey for work. Waving down a taxi. Some guy whips over an waves for me to get in. He kept pointing to my Nightwish tattoo on my forearm. He starts playing some Nightwish. Then I play him some that I have downloaded from human/nature. He was in tears listening. With some help from phone translation. Made a good friend. Wondering if you ever see or hear stories about fans making friends through Nightwish?

Best way start the weekend. I have to admit I watched some clips from oslo show. You were totally on fire. Even improvised some new lyrics to one of my all time favourite songs ("almost"). Looking so much forward to Tampere show.
Since Freja likes pancakes, has she ever had roll-ups? You make the pancakes thin and put fruit in the middle (peach slices, banana slices, blue berries, etc.), roll the fruit up in the pancakes and put whipped cream and maple syrup over it. My grandkids just love it when grampa makes them roll-ups. BTW - thanks for using my question. It's gonna be a great weekend!
My last travel experience? I travelled from Germany to Finland in the middle of the night to see a Russian cover band live during a pandemic. All this booked not 24 hours in advance due to constantly changing guidelines. And it was so worth it! What has been your most chaotic trip so far?

@@laartje24 That's a good point - she might quit singing and join a convent after reading that 😂😂 But it does make me wonder about those northern countries and their obsession with burying things in the ground until they're half rotten then digging them up to eat them. I believe the Norwegians have a "delicacy" which entails burying (puffin?) birds in that same way. I also encountered a Cambodian at a place I used to work who insisted on microwaving the similarly prepared fish at lunch. Now *that* was a weapon of mass destruction!

I went to Grand Cayman quite a few years ago. It was wonderful! The water is so beautiful and I took an Excursion to snorkel With The Stingrays. They're out there in the wild and this is totally safe to do and what you do is you get some Chum which is what to feed them and they will come up and suck the food right out of your hand. You feed stingrays the same way you feed a horse Palm up. And they are very friendly! You can pet them touch them I even had a gigantic one climb up my chest a little bit. It was great! They vary in size as well , some of them are the size of Pancakes While others are just huge. If you haven't been there you should go and do that. And I love the Caribbean, have you ever been there?

While we're on the subject of travel: Years ago i went with a group of friends on a survival. We were completeley lost. So, no food and nothing to drink. After two days we got a bit hungry. Out of pure misery we ate grass, mushrooms, flowers and insects. Everyone was sick. My question to you is: When was the last time that you get lost in a foreign country. Cool travel experiences??? Ooooh I got that in the bag! A few weeks ago I went to LA for the first time, and got the chance to eat dinner with James & Evis Shaffer in West Hollywood!!!! I don’t think anything would top that, unless….When I come to the NW concert in May next year, I can share a drink 🥃 with all of you!!! NOW THAT would definitely trump eating dinner with Korn!
Idea for Freja: blueberry pancakes... just the pancake dough in a pan and put as many blueberries on it as could possibly fit One of my favourite memories from Sweden: blueberry pancakes after a long hike in the woods along a lake! :]
I can highly recommend fruit trees like pears. We planted a small one in the nursery where I work (literally the smallest plot and!) and the following year we had some amazing organic pears. We just let mother nature do her thing. No pesticides no chemicals just, just rain and sunshine/heat. I imagine your soil is fertile where you are so a fruit tree would grow and produce a beautiful bounty there🍐🌱💚
I LOVE fresh tomatoes. I used to eat just tomato and a little mayo on bread when I was little, and mom would fix tomato and cucumber "salad" ( just tomatoes, cucumbers and ranch dressing and you let it sit a few minutes. it don't need much dressing either if you've got fresh. ) Yea, don't think I'd be able to get near the rotted fish stuff. Kudos to them for finding a way to eat it I guess? lol Not much travelin here. Went to GA to visit some cousins and had the top down all the way. Mom and I had a lot of fun and I discovered nutella, and when I went to Europe and found they had it for breakfast in a lot of places I was like @.@ /jealous.

I think for you as an HSP this is a good way to do it, because you can satisfy the curiosity of your fans without being overwhelmed by them. Second, thanks again to Hannes for shooting and editing these videos. Should it ever not work with the drums anymore, which I really hope not, this would be a good alternative. Travel question: Every time I travel I forget to take something with me, even though I have reminded myself beforehand not to forget the corresponding part. Does that happen to you from time to time?
One of my brothers was obsessed with pickled herring for a while. Everytime he opened the jar i had to leave the room lol. I've managed to grow from seed 2 types of chilli, rosemary & a couple of avocado trees. But being a dad, shift worker, and the Aussie summers they don't get the attention they need. Pickled herring is very nice, dont smell.... Surströmming (fermented herring) is dusgusting in texture, smell and taste. Very far from pickled herring. 😉
Dear Floor, do you have fruit trees, or berry shrubs? Apples, pears and early plums are relatively easy, without much care, good for you or your horses if it falls down. And if you cannot harvest the berries the birds in the forest around you will be grateful. Groeten uit Brabant!
Have you ever been to a location - for example a beautiful area in the mountains, a lake, sandy beach ... that made you instantly want to sing? For example think of the scene "Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music". I've been fortunate to see some amazing places and only recently thought about what it might be like to combine an epic Nightwish concert with Sabaton (really love their historical lyrical stories) along as well. I enjoy wide open places like Grand Teton National Park, Glacier National Park, and many others. Then there is Red Rocks in Colorado a Nightwish show there would be other wordly. Back to the question a location that was so epic you felt compelled to sing? If so what song came to mind?

Maybe now that tours are slowly returning it’s not the best time…but it would be cool to see some kind of Cooking With Hannes video(s) where he cooks a pasta dish! I wish I thought of it when everyone had more time on their hands (not that I want it to be the pandemic or anything!)
I am a Swede and I have never tried fermented herring myself mainly because I don't like fish in general and uncooked fish in particular. So I've never gotten around to it. But all foreigners make the same mistake when they try it for the first time. You're not supposed to eat JUST fish. I've been told you need all the condiments together. So you'll need thin bread, spread sour cream on it, pieces of boiled potato, red onion, a few filets of herring and if you'd like you can also put on a little bit of blackberry jam. That is preferable for beginners. Make it into a sandwich with another piece of thin bread and you got a "surströmmingsklämma." Together all these components are supposedly tangy and doesn't taste like it smells at all. One day I will try this myself... Maybe.

Those episodes always come right in time on rough work days, thank you for always making my day ♥ Looking forward to the next one already, so here's my question! When you travel in private, what kind of vacation do you prefer? Are you the adventurous type or are you more of a beach & relax kinda person? Also, as you're a HSP I can imagine you might prefer places with lots of nature over big cities? Own travel stories: I didn't travel much yet (at least not to other countries) but most trips had some really stunning experiences. School trip to France: We were in Paris and had a visit to the Eiffel Tower scheduled for the next day. But when we came from our evening boat trip (which was gorgeous itself already), we saw there were almost no people there but the Tower still open for another hour. So we spontaneously went there in the middle of the night. The air was really clear back then so we had a perfect view over an endless ocean of lights. ♥ One of my far most favourite experiences was during our school trip to Greece. We were in a group with our arts teacher in highschool (our whole group was split into their respective honors courses), and he didn't allow us to use our "free" 3 hours in the afternoon because he wanted to go draw a really cool view with us. So to make up for it instead we were allowed to stay outside longer than the others, resulting in a class friend and I going swimming in the ocean under the full moon with nothing but the lights of moon, shore buildings and a private island close by. It was absolutely stunning, like in a movie! (If you ever get to visit Greece, make sure to check out Tolo too. It's a really beautiful place.) Then in 2018 finally my dream of travelling to Japan came true, but there we had too much amazing stuff happen to tell even just highlights here. Either way: We mainly went there to see a concert of my favourite idol group. We couldn't buy tickets because while we did have lots for the ticket slot lottery (of which at least one would have giving us the chance to buy tickets), we would've needed a Japanese address and phone number, which neither of us had (I'm from Germany, the friend who came with me is from Austria), and hotel wasn't an option sadly. But we still tried our luck and when we were there the security actually allowed us to watch the screen from the distance outside. This made both of us so incredibly happy...! We even met two other internet friends there, one from Florida, one from the Philippines. A once in a lifetime experience that proved once again how love for music unites everyone from anywhere in the world. ♥
What was the most "oh I did not expect THAT" vacation you took? Example of what I mean: For me it was Japan, I went for culture and sight-seeing (of course tech and all the nerdy stuff), but fell in love with people so much that I cried at the airport when it was time to go home. Such a great culture, willing to help, calm, chill even in rush hour, it blew me away. Oh and many of them are proper metalheads.
As a youn singer (2 years of opera) I would like to ask you: where you able to reach your highest note (D6) when you were beginning to sing or it takes practice to reach that point?

Beef tongue tacos! I know it sounds gross but its delish! You put salted, diced tongue (lengua) it on a nice warmed up corn tortilla and put chopped cilantro, onions, squeeze of lime to taste and my absolute favorite green salsa. Other than that. Pozole is another amazing dish, it's a soup. The broth is a non spicy red chili broth. I like to put pork neck bones which make the broth taste glorious as well with a whole garlic and half an onion. As well as dried oregano. Then add hominy at the end. When done. We put squeeze of lime to taste, onions, cilantro, chili flakes and finely chopped cabbage. It's the best! Especially during Christmas season 💝

I wasnt aware pancakes with fruit had a separate name. I love myself some pancakes with apple, raisins and cinnamon.

My last travel experience? I travelled from Germany to Finland in the middle of the night to see a Russian cover band live during a pandemic. All this booked not 24 hours in advance due to constantly changing guidelines.
And it was so worth it!

But it does make me wonder about those northern countries and their obsession with burying things in the ground until they're half rotten then digging them up to eat them. I believe the Norwegians have a "delicacy" which entails burying (puffin?) birds in that same way.
I also encountered a Cambodian at a place I used to work who insisted on microwaving the similarly prepared fish at lunch. Now *that* was a weapon of mass destruction!

I went to Grand Cayman quite a few years ago. It was wonderful! The water is so beautiful and I took an Excursion to snorkel With The Stingrays. They're out there in the wild and this is totally safe to do and what you do is you get some Chum which is what to feed them and they will come up and suck the food right out of your hand. You feed stingrays the same way you feed a horse Palm up. And they are very friendly! You can pet them touch them I even had a gigantic one climb up my chest a little bit. It was great! They vary in size as well , some of them are the size of Pancakes While others are just huge. If you haven't been there you should go and do that. And I love the Caribbean, have you ever been there?
You would like to try to Cook mexican food that is not tacos. México has huge gastronomy that made Anthony Bourdain love. 🇲🇽🤘👊😎

Worst travel experience either personally or while on tour?
While we're on the subject of travel: Years ago i went with a group of friends on a survival. We were completeley lost. So, no food and nothing to drink. After two days we got a bit hungry. Out of pure misery we ate grass, mushrooms, flowers and insects. Everyone was sick. My question to you is: When was the last time that you get lost in a foreign country. Cool travel experiences??? Ooooh I got that in the bag! A few weeks ago I went to LA for the first time, and got the chance to eat dinner with James & Evis Shaffer in West Hollywood!!!! I don’t think anything would top that, unless….When I come to the NW concert in May next year, I can share a drink 🥃 with all of you!!! NOW THAT would definitely trump eating dinner with Korn!

I can highly recommend fruit trees like pears. We planted a small one in the nursery where I work (literally the smallest plot and!) and the following year we had some amazing organic pears. We just let mother nature do her thing. No pesticides no chemicals just, just rain and sunshine/heat. I imagine your soil is fertile where you are so a fruit tree would grow and produce a beautiful bounty there🍐🌱💚
I LOVE fresh tomatoes. I used to eat just tomato and a little mayo on bread when I was little, and mom would fix tomato and cucumber "salad" ( just tomatoes, cucumbers and ranch dressing and you let it sit a few minutes. it don't need much dressing either if you've got fresh. ) Yea, don't think I'd be able to get near the rotted fish stuff. Kudos to them for finding a way to eat it I guess? lol Not much travelin here. Went to GA to visit some cousins and had the top down all the way. Mom and I had a lot of fun and I discovered nutella, and when I went to Europe and found they had it for breakfast in a lot of places I was like @.@ /jealous.

First, Floor you look wonderfully relaxed and content. Thank you so much for taking the time to connect with fans in this way. I think for you as an HSP this is a good way to do it, because you can satisfy the curiosity of your fans without being overwhelmed by them.
Second, thanks again to Hannes for shooting and editing these videos. Should it ever not work with the drums anymore, which I really hope not, this would be a good alternative.

Travel question: Every time I travel I forget to take something with me, even though I have reminded myself beforehand not to forget the corresponding part. Does that happen to you from time to time?
One of my brothers was obsessed with pickled herring for a while. Everytime he opened the jar i had to leave the room lol.
I've managed to grow from seed 2 types of chilli, rosemary & a couple of avocado trees. But being a dad, shift worker, and the Aussie summers they don't get the attention they need.

Surströmming (fermented herring) is dusgusting in texture, smell and taste. Very far from pickled herring. 😉

Apples, pears and early plums are relatively easy, without much care, good for you or your horses if it falls down.
And if you cannot harvest the berries the birds in the forest around you will be grateful.

Have you ever been to a location - for example a beautiful area in the mountains, a lake, sandy beach ... that made you instantly want to sing? For example think of the scene "Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music". I've been fortunate to see some amazing places and only recently thought about what it might be like to combine an epic Nightwish concert with Sabaton (really love their historical lyrical stories) along as well. I enjoy wide open places like Grand Teton National Park, Glacier National Park, and many others. Then there is Red Rocks in Colorado a Nightwish show there would be other wordly. Back to the question a location that was so epic you felt compelled to sing? If so what song came to mind?

My best traveling experience was a 3 months stay in Uppsala during my study (30 years ago😅). I fell in love with Sweden too! I can also recommend to tour through Namibia with a jeep, beautiful!!
Travel question: During touring with Nightwish, do you actually have time to see a city / nature at the place you are at? Are there sometimes extra days planned to do some sightseeing? Or do you get ideas and then later on, you go there with Hannes and Freja? Have a great weekend everyone!💕
Maybe now that tours are slowly returning it’s not the best time…but it would be cool to see some kind of Cooking With Hannes video(s) where he cooks a pasta dish! I wish I thought of it when everyone had more time on their hands (not that I want it to be the pandemic or anything!)
I am a Swede and I have never tried fermented herring myself mainly because I don't like fish in general and uncooked fish in particular. So I've never gotten around to it.
But all foreigners make the same mistake when they try it for the first time. You're not supposed to eat JUST fish. I've been told you need all the condiments together.
So you'll need thin bread, spread sour cream on it, pieces of boiled potato, red onion, a few filets of herring and if you'd like you can also put on a little bit of blackberry jam. That is preferable for beginners.
Make it into a sandwich with another piece of thin bread and you got a "surströmmingsklämma." Together all these components are supposedly tangy and doesn't taste like it smells at all.
One day I will try this myself... Maybe.

Looking forward to the next one already, so here's my question! When you travel in private, what kind of vacation do you prefer? Are you the adventurous type or are you more of a beach & relax kinda person? Also, as you're a HSP I can imagine you might prefer places with lots of nature over big cities?
Own travel stories: I didn't travel much yet (at least not to other countries) but most trips had some really stunning experiences.
School trip to France: We were in Paris and had a visit to the Eiffel Tower scheduled for the next day. But when we came from our evening boat trip (which was gorgeous itself already), we saw there were almost no people there but the Tower still open for another hour. So we spontaneously went there in the middle of the night. The air was really clear back then so we had a perfect view over an endless ocean of lights. ♥
One of my far most favourite experiences was during our school trip to Greece. We were in a group with our arts teacher in highschool (our whole group was split into their respective honors courses), and he didn't allow us to use our "free" 3 hours in the afternoon because he wanted to go draw a really cool view with us. So to make up for it instead we were allowed to stay outside longer than the others, resulting in a class friend and I going swimming in the ocean under the full moon with nothing but the lights of moon, shore buildings and a private island close by. It was absolutely stunning, like in a movie! (If you ever get to visit Greece, make sure to check out Tolo too. It's a really beautiful place.)
Then in 2018 finally my dream of travelling to Japan came true, but there we had too much amazing stuff happen to tell even just highlights here. Either way: We mainly went there to see a concert of my favourite idol group. We couldn't buy tickets because while we did have lots for the ticket slot lottery (of which at least one would have giving us the chance to buy tickets), we would've needed a Japanese address and phone number, which neither of us had (I'm from Germany, the friend who came with me is from Austria), and hotel wasn't an option sadly. But we still tried our luck and when we were there the security actually allowed us to watch the screen from the distance outside. This made both of us so incredibly happy...! We even met two other internet friends there, one from Florida, one from the Philippines. A once in a lifetime experience that proved once again how love for music unites everyone from anywhere in the world. ♥

What was the most "oh I did not expect THAT" vacation you took?
Example of what I mean: For me it was Japan, I went for culture and sight-seeing (of course tech and all the nerdy stuff), but fell in love with people so much that I cried at the airport when it was time to go home. Such a great culture, willing to help, calm, chill even in rush hour, it blew me away. Oh and many of them are proper metalheads.

Travel question: how do you find travelling as a vegetarian? Particularly in countries where that is not so popular? Does nightwish have a caterer or do you have to eat out all the time? Xx
Beef tongue tacos! I know it sounds gross but its delish! You put salted, diced tongue (lengua) it on a nice warmed up corn tortilla and put chopped cilantro, onions, squeeze of lime to taste and my absolute favorite green salsa.
Other than that. Pozole is another amazing dish, it's a soup. The broth is a non spicy red chili broth. I like to put pork neck bones which make the broth taste glorious as well with a whole garlic and half an onion. As well as dried oregano. Then add hominy at the end.
When done. We put squeeze of lime to taste, onions, cilantro, chili flakes and finely chopped cabbage. It's the best! Especially during Christmas season 💝
