I think it might be true because in DISKPART it shows GPT but when I checked inside disk management, voila it's MBR. I was literally shocked and then fixed it EaseUS partition manager. Haven't booted into yet, will keep you all updated
I'm glad you could find a solution. I am planning on making a more updated version of bootable installer options in the future when I have a bit more time. Although my future videos will most likely be a bit more NixOS focused.
It may work with MBR, if the image used does not support EFI in the first place. But if your image is expecting to be used in EFI and not legacy BIOS it will likely fail if you don’t convert the partition table to EFI
I made another video to accomplish the same with windows tools only Balena Etcher Fix USB - Windows Tools Only ruclips.net/video/V_9hddnP0os/видео.html
Hello, sorry for the late reply. Please just start Balena Etcher with right-click -> run as administrator. Its most likely an issue that it doesnt offer you the user administration control pop-up.
I have another video where you can use windows tools without needing any downloads. I recommend using that video and you will be able to do it (the tool I use in the other video is called disk part which ships with windows)
The feature I used in the video are free but you can also follow my newer video where I use windows tools only to achieve the same effect: Balena Etcher Fix USB - Windows Tools Only ruclips.net/video/V_9hddnP0os/видео.html
After flashing your drive with etcher? That would be normal as it creates partitions to the size it needs. It leaves the rest unformated. You can format the rest of it in windows' computer Management application and there on the left side on drive management.
@@TechSupportOnHold1 it might be the whole pc itself being slow at this point but yes sometimes I’d use it go slow asf I actually flashed my iso and then the damn pc just did a total 180 like it’s trying to resist me installing linux but the drivers for this generic usb it showed up as a lot of subs or at least it’s not working

You don’t need to install it. But I made another video, basically a revision of this one, with windows tools only. So that you don’t need third party tools
Honestly don’t use Etcher for SSDs. I can recommend Ventoy for that (a video for that is coming if you have issues and can’t figure it out by then I suggest to wait until I have uploaded that). If you mean something else regarding issues, please elaborate and I will try to help you

Said flash failed but batocera still boots up on the deck just fine?
I never used batocera although it might be better to set up Ventoy to boot straight up from the ISO instead of using Etcher

if it keeps corrupting, ensure that its really not still on MBR but on GPT partition table.
