Good morning Neighbors! If you want to make a 1-person portion - you can use two eggs, mix it in a bowl and pop in the microwave! Not as sexy of a presentation but makes it much simpler. Here is the video walk-thru of how to do it. Skip to 2:58 in the video (ruclips.net/video/9XDictVhfUc/видео.htmlm58s)
Future Neighbor Hmm.. somehow I don't think this taste any good at all. It's way under seasoned for a teaspoon of fish sauce to 5 eggs and that much amount of water?? Even if it's seasoned with extra fish sauce, I really don't think it'll taste good at all cos it's so one dimensional.
I made this when I got home from work tonight because all I have in the fridge is eggs, soy sauce and some frozen spring onions... this was delicious, thank you for sharing your recipe!
@@oneDonly Spring onions. When you live alone for example and buy a pack they go bad very quickly. If you freeze them it's as good as fresh, perfect for cooking stock or other things you don't make often. Sometimes there's no option to buy smaller amount. Which frustrates me though. I don't like to throw food, but I mostly only get my hands on family sized bags of everything. /Sigh
Yo Bruce! There is a one person version also! I linked to it at the top of the comments. Try it out with a microwave and if you like the taste/texture, try it out the fam ;)
I LOVE Gyeran Jjim!!! My tummy wasn’t the best tonight so I had steamed egg, rice and vegetarian miso soup. It was PERFECT. Thanks for sharing these recipes because steamed egg is a favorite. I even have my adorable little clay pot.
i just made this and i'm very impressed with how good it is. i'm also recovering from a bad case of indigestion and i really needed this, thank you for sharing!
I love how healthy it is without having to actually fry it with oil. Gonna have to try this soon! I’m glad I found your channel. I’m gaining so much weight and now I’m just over weight😔 Thanks for the video!
I made this and also ate it with rice, Korean seaweed gim and bean sprout side. Wow it was absolutely delicious. The sprouts added such a great texture to the dish. Will be adding this to my weekly rotation. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
When you showed the edited version at the beginning to introduce the video, I was like, "wait, that's it?" - then you elaborated. Looks healthy. I'll try it without the rice. Thanks for sharing.
Been making this after the video, the only change is that i use a small deep pan and instead of plain water or broth i use the sauce left from making “cá kho”. Very quick and easy and delicious, thank you very much.
Hey Bri! That's how my mom does it as well ;) I switched it up to fish sauce as I think it would be too much for first-timers to go out and buy a whole jar of fermented shrimp haha!
Oh I'm trying this..usually I put about 2 tablespoons of water in my raw mixed eggs before I fry in a little oil, to get a fluffy scrambled egg. Thanks for the video. I was just commenting on how shiny and lush your hair is..very nice.
Thank you so much for the recipe. It came out really good.. I used chicken soup instead of water like 3/4 a cup too but with only two eggs 'cause it's only for me 🐥😂 this isn't my first time making steamed egg but it always turns out a mess when I used water path or so. But this time I tried your recipe and God finally I can enjoy steamed eggs
Thank you so much, I made it exactly the way you showed it, and it was absolutely delicious and presentation was amazing!!!!!!! Thnk you I love love all of your recipes. I just bought a stone pot and am so happy to be able to make my korean recipes.
I’ve been trying to go oil free, gritting my teeth. I love this! Now I steam my veggies a bit then add my scrabbled eggs. Love it! You saved my teeth 😂.
Yea, it's so simple. I did a very easy one in a previous video, but this is the proper way to do it. If you put this out at KBBQ party, I think you will get a (Korean's) nod of approval - ha!
I did this by browning a little sausage in the pot and sweating 1/4 of a white onion, adding the water and sauce afterward. Now, I want to add more. lol Great recipe.
OMG! I’ve done this a few times now and it’s good every time! I put anything possible inside and it tastes so good! It’s so foamy and tasty! I just use a regular small pot and it works just fine
Thank you. I've wanted to try eggs using water because I want to rid ofboil. Never knew there was such a thing. Except for egg drop soup of course. I'm definitely trying this
Hi Thanks for your video recipe. I made this for my daughter after watching it and it is her favourite dish since then. I substitute fish sauce with chicken stock.

I tried the one person microwave recipe and it's great! 4 minutes on medium power is perfect. It really helped when I had a stomachache. Thanks :)

fish sauce is salty tho just try it lol
Future Neighbor can you writer the ingredients...because my speak english is bad....i like you're food

Breakfast for dinner is a family favorite!
Who freezes onions?
@@oneDonly Anybody who wants them to last without spoiling AND anybody who wants to chop them without crying.

Stick them in some dirt and they stay fresh forever.
I love how you showed a preview at the start. I want this!

Love it, light breakfast, NO OIL INVOLVED!
Hey Quoc ;) Yea, I enjoy it for the same reason, little oil = light on the stomach.
Good point. Boiled, soft boiled or poached eggs would also all be oil-free.
Chris Johnson and tastier
I am definitely a big fan of poached or soft boiled eggs.
Quoc Bao exactly!
Looks like it would be really nice when you're sick. Gonna try that out.
My mom would make us eggs and pastina when we were sick. It's still a comfort food that I associate with my nurturing mom!

Thanks for the video!
Well hope you fixed that by now.
This is such a home food for Koreans - all Korean moms make this.
I need a Korean mom...
I made this and also ate it with rice, Korean seaweed gim and bean sprout side. Wow it was absolutely delicious. The sprouts added such a great texture to the dish. Will be adding this to my weekly rotation. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I really want to try making this. I had my first steamed egg the other weekend and it was delicious!
such a happy and positive dude you make me happy seeing you happy
Must try this, looks healthy, no grease
right type of grease is healthy
True.
no grease means your pots will sticky. then you will scrape extra food from your pots and wash all day
I keep forgetting I love this dish that always comes out when I'm at the Korean Barbecue Restaurant. Now I can make it at home thank you!
Yes! They always give you a very small dish of it and I love it but you can’t order more because it’s not a dish or an appetizer
Been making this after the video, the only change is that i use a small deep pan and instead of plain water or broth i use the sauce left from making “cá kho”. Very quick and easy and delicious, thank you very much.
This was a revelation: from now on I will only cook Korean food playing reggie music! Greetings from an Italian in Belgium.
This is excellent for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. Seriously good food.
I used to love this but never knew what it was called or how to explain it to someone who has never had it. So glad you posted this video.
I remember my mom put tiny little salted shrimps back in the day. Thanks for the memories, wish I had a bowl right now!
Hey Bri! That's how my mom does it as well ;) I switched it up to fish sauce as I think it would be too much for first-timers to go out and buy a whole jar of fermented shrimp haha!
I made this today and it was a very yummy breakfast:)

First time I see a genuinely different way of cooking breakfast eggs 👍
I've made this twice and I am amazed how much the eggs puff up. It's a great recipe. Thank you!
Yay! Happy that you tried it! A few of the shops in also mix some Korean red chili flakes into the egg mixture. A little spicier version :D
Love the accompanying music!

Eggs and rice is always a good idea!
As simple as it is steamed egg is tasty. I love this with some broiled eel and rice.
Thank you so much for the recipe. It came out really good.. Awesome recipe... I just knew steam egg... Yummmy but healthy
This dish looks so strange to me, kind of like a very mushy omlette!
Something I still would like to try, looks delish!
@Dr. Stone I'm pretty sure it's not a word, more like slang, but it sounds better this way ^_^
My wife would fix that for me about 3 times a week, loved it.
think of it as a more hearty egg drop soup. not close to omelette.
@Dr. Stone delish is a shortened/slang word for delicious!
Yeah, looks very strange. Not liking the look of that 'broth'.
I made this after watching the video. Very easy to make
I made it for myself. Had to make more everyone wanted some. They loved it.
I'm definitely gonna try this next morning.
A Korean Restaurant would garnish with some sweet red peppers and it completely added a new dimension to it. I highly recommend!
I LOVE EGGS & RICE!!!
Looks yummy! It reminds me of how fluffy the eggs get in a tomato & egg stir-fry 😋
i tried this for my dinner yesterday! i added carrots and enoki. it made me full even without rice. thank you for the recipe😊
