    Great stuff. Good intro Jason! One thing that caught my attention, was leaving the gray tank dump valve open. Unless you have a washing machine or taking 20 min showers, I recommend leaving it closed. Ever had to unplug a bathroom or kitchen sink drain pipe or trap? The same solids that you will find there will collect on the bottom of your gray tank. The design of the black and gray (holding) tanks have fairly flat bottoms, leaving the valves open will leave the solids behind and just drain off the water. That's just me, a nerdy engineer. Safe Travels!

      Hey John, funny you mention gray tank we have since making the video which was several weeks ago started closing gray, because of sewer flies lol. We have eradicated the problem but it was annoying so now gray closed unless shower which I do sometimes take 20 min showers with the Truma!! Thanks for checking it out.

      Congrats on the Canyon Star. Please share some pics. Awesome rig. How do you like the LED headlights? For us it was a big difference. Good choice on the Progressive. Make sure you lock that thing at camp! Thanks for watching the video and for subscribing.

      Thanks Izzy! We purchased the unit in AZ this past weekend and drove it back home to California. We asked the dealer to install led lights before we picked up the coach. A $220.00 upgrade. Adding the led lights made a HUGE difference! Thanks to you! As the desert highways aka interstate 10, is pitch black at night. The new led lights lit up road in front of us and all around us perfectly. Nice and bright! It's also a safety feature and I'm very surprised Newmar does not use led front lights as a standard option. Plus the led lights look great during the day time as well. I'll be happy to send you some pics just not sure how to upload pics to your channel.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 года назад

      Rob Bennett yes the LED’s are huge and they should be standard. We may do an LED front Light-bar in the future that will really “light things up.” You can send pics to endlessrving@gmail.com. We will share them on our livestream tonight and give you a shout out.

    Things are a bit different for a Newmar diesel pusher. The instruction say to put out the slides while at ride height before leveling with jacks. The first thing I do is plug in the Progressive surge guard to check power. That way if there's a problem I can easily move. I was taught to leave the grey valve closed so, when you dump the black, you can use the grey water to wash out the hose.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 года назад

      Hey Roy, yes the leveling procedure is different for us. It’s level first then slides out. Breakdown slides in jacks up. Actually we do close the gray the night before we leave to build up water for black dump. We have a breakdown video coming out where we show dumping black and then grey. As always thanks for the feedback.

      @@EndlessRVing The manual for the Bay Star actually says put out the slides before the leaving jacks. It's the same wording that is in the manuals for the other models. I always level first since it makes more sense to me.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 года назад

      Steve Alexander yes you are correct Steve. I actually had to speak to Newmar about this. Their response was for the model I have level first then slides out. It depends on what model coach you have. Thanks for watching the video and the feedback.

    Newbie question. Why would you hook up hose at setup? I thought you did that when you're leaving. So the sewer hose stays like that the whole time?

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 года назад +2

      You can also do when leaving however if you want to take long showers you will need to have sewer hose on and gray tank open.

  • @urhiredhr421
    @urhiredhr421 4 года назад

    Im really confused about one issue. You went around "unlocking" all of the slides! I never heard of such a thing! Please explain! Is this just because of the brand?

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 года назад

      The slide locks depends on your coach. On Newmar gas coaches there are manual slide locks. Basically on Newmar there are steel gears at the bottom of the slides that open and close the slide. When the slides are closed the gear is holding the bottom of the slide closed, however the top of the slide there is no gears therefore there are manual slide locks that you put into the locked position when slides are closed. This allows the slides to be locked tightly shut when traveling or in storage. On Newmar DP’s there are automatic slide locks but that is why you pay the big bucks lol. Hope that makes sense. If not here is a link explaining it better.
