This is why I liked the first movie more. We literally just saw Valak here for less than two minutes, whilst in the first movie, He was everywhere or had more screen time.
the demon is so inconsistent in what it can do. In the first scene it sets a man on fire, which makes it really terrifying, literally a god among men but it just finds itself helpless for some reason in later scenes. Also since Valak got the eyes, I'd expect for it to be more powerful in the conjuring 2
That when Valak burned I think that Saint Lucia's eyes were also destroyed and that is why she does not have the same power in Conjuring 2 that she has in this movie
I think it depends on who he's facing. Against some people he has more power than against others. Also, Valak is sadistic, he doesn't go straight for the kill against someone he wants see suffer
The scene of Valak re-gaining his Angelic power with the light aura is the best in the movie… too bad we didn’t get more of that. Am I the only one who wants a movie where Valak actually wins? (Technically you could say he did by possessing Maurice in the Nun, but…)
How could such hideous and evil originate from a divine individual??? Crazy to think you could be the most pure of angel and you can still be prone to corruption
We barely saw her. Like who cares about maurice just show valak as the nun not as maurice and when we had opportunity to see her she was just standing and doing face expressions
@@brunocorbella7389 I'm not saying opposite but atleast show her more I like her being on the screen and doing her demonic abilities like in the conjuring 2 from where they reused scenes in her movie with that hallway and painting scene. In the nun 2 the ending felt so fast and I was disappointed that we didn't see something new of her.
@@2savage4them43 the last film showed the Nun a lot and then set up Frenchie being possessed. This film was centered around his possession which was different. It was nice that they mixed things up a bit. Although I would agree that the execution was lacking and the ending was rushed.
@@brunocorbella7389 last film had a good ending but the nun wasnt scary her waterproof makeup was terrible. In my opinion they should have made maurice in the nun 2 like how Janet was in the ending of the conjuring 2 and Irene confronting valak to save maurice like how Lorraine did but in a more epic way since its his movie
I really wish they would do more with her. Like, I feel like Valak has the right look and can definitely be scary enough to be the face of the her own franchise, but like...more often than not she's just kinda standing there lmao. I'm not expecting her to break out into song and dance, but a bit more action would be nice. She's just starting to get a little stale is all, and the problem is that they never give her anything to do in her iconic nun form. They put the weight of her scares on her alternate forms, like The Crooked Man or the Goat-Man in this new movie, and it makes her kinda...boring? in comparison. Pennywise and Freddy Krueger were also shapeshifters, but they still had the ability to be compelling villains with exciting movements. Like, aside from Art the Clown, there's not many new horror icons anymore. I just wish Valak was exciting enough to stand on her own.
I completely agree. When I heard the announcement of The Nun II, I thought they would make her much more interesting. Great final act, and a little bit of lore was added, but pretty disappointing overall.

I agree, throughout the movie Valak’s feats were so inconsistent but maybe there was a reason why, it definitely would’ve broke the internet if when Valak got the eyes it became close to omnipotent then an angel like Michael appeared and defeated Valak that would’ve been AMAZING

That reveal with the light…. One of the best horror scenes ever.
I got goosebumps watching that scene especially at the theater it felt so heavenly haha
