valid point, also for anyone curious, i was studying some articles on physical training for surfers, and in one of the articles,(if im not terribly mistaken my memory is shit), they noticed an increas on paddling endurance, after a cycle of strenght trainin with weighted pullups for 1rep maxes, the thing is, is not that they simply got better endurance, but they got a better energy economy when padling. dont know how much this could translate lighter to pullups but there it is, also dont remember how conclusive was the study.(sry for any misspelling im not mainly an english speaker)
“Who wants to do 100+ push-ups and pull-ups” Me. I’ve been doing push-ups and pull-ups every week and gradually increased the amount over time for ab a year now. It helped a lot with form, endurance, and even mental strength. My work outs for one day consist of doing only pull-ups and only push-ups. I now do 300 regular push-ups, 300 incline push-ups, 300 decline push-ups and 300 pike push-ups which totals to 1,200 push-ups. I make sure I touch the ground with every rep and come all the way up. I rest as many times as I need and it takes ab 2 hours and 15 minutes. However I only do these about once a week. I also do at least 300 pull-ups which takes an hour and at most 400 which takes about an hour and 25 minutes. My pull-up form is much better after doing these, I can go well above the bar on every rep. This comes from not worrying about the number so much and focusing on doing it right. Just because you don’t do it my guy, doesn’t mean it isn’t effective for endurance training.
@@TheChocolateChamp I don’t weigh much, I’m 135 about sometimes 131 if I lose water weight. My body looks similar but I’m not as muscular. I’m also just shaped differently. But me being 5’4 probably makes it easier to look muscular. But my size didn’t make it easier to do pull-ups surprisingly, it became easier once I started just doing them more.
Exactly. At a certain point you have to train endurance with 50% of your max weighted pull ups. This gave me 34 clean pull ups (in a couple years) and my weighted max increased also
My goal is to work up to 60-90 minutes no rest of push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, lunges, dips, squats. Any tips on how to get there? I’m hoping to hit around 500 reps each exercise each workout.
This is me this is all I do calisthenics with weights, pull-ups, dips, stomach, and squats, full body workout, and jog for a mile or two, depending on how I feel after my workout routine.
I can't do the same shit for too long but surprisingly when I'm doing it my focus is so tuned that I don't even listen to music when working out. even if I turn it on, I quickly go back to focus.
Yeah,do what you can and you will be able to increase over time! If you can only do 5 to start even. All workouts are a gradual increase so don't feel bad about not being able to hit that goal rep number right out the gate.
Me I do 500 pushups 2 times a week one day decline with a 30 lb vest one day it’s not then I do weighted dips for 5 sets of ten for back I do bent over 150 to 200 pull-ups or more and dumbbell rows then for shoulders I do standing over head press lateral raises and I get my rings and do rear delts then I do pike push ups to finish 😁 is it a good workout I need advice
Let's be real, most of those mfs doing hundreds of pushups couldn't do 100,heck,even 50 slow with strict form, they kinda remind me of those folks doing crossfit 😂
i do 300 pushups a day and 150 crunches a day and im working my way up to doing 100 pullups a day. is this too much cuz ive been doing this for 5 months straight without any missed days and im afraid to stop doing because i feel like id lose ill my gains
No your good all your doing is adding endurance and stamina. If you want gains and mass take Austin's advice. I normally do 10 to 12 reps however I'm 6'1 215. Even though I have done 20+ pullups I still do less and still feel it as much. I'm impressed your doing that much but it's basically cardio
@@AGreenApple_ I hate them lol, but i try to do them. I also have some form of injury on my shoulder, sometimes doing rotational movements make my shoulder crack and when doing pull ups when tired makes it feel as if it's going to snap out of joint.
If you specifically train for something, do exactly that. If you want to do 20 clean pull ups, don't add weight, until you have reached 20 clean pull ups.
