    Not 💯% true here folks.
    Reinforced concrete does not drop.
    All concrete does crack yes! But when control joints are used correctly, the cracks are not visible on the surface.
    This debate will go on for ever! The bottom line in my humble opinion, if you hire a professional well known contractor be it concrete or paver the longevity will be too close to call. To that I must add, proper maintenance must be performed on the material you choose. We have all seen concrete projects cracked and heaved as well as surface deterioration... same goes for pavers. Let’s be honest. The real debate is, what is your budget and what would be more aesthetically pleasing to the individual. That’s my two cents. 👀 I can do both! 👍

    Really nice video here. There’s a huge debate out there mostly the paver people telling you to use pavers and the concrete folks saying the opposite.

    I agree with you. I just spent about 30k on my driveway (good size) I bought the good concrete which down here they claim it as a 5 sack. Well it has small cracks. Bothers me but from
    Now on I’ll go with pavers.

    You are absolutely right. My concrete patio is all crack and look ugly. Some area the concrete sinked and some area is raised. I will put the paver to replace it when I remodel the back yard

    Hi great video. Question I have had a patio slabs down for 9 years. I have lifted all the slabs up and got rid of them as they were old and tired. I am now left with a hard clay surface which needs to be even out. Would I need to put down aggregate, or can go ahead and put down the sand and then pavers? The pavers are for the back garden so no cars only a family walking on it? Thank you.

    What about tree roots? My pavers are constantly being pushed up by tree roots. The whole yard is nothing but tree roots and new ones grow every year. Do you install steel plates around the perimeter or something to block the roots? No freeze here, I live in a Texas forest. Trees grow like weeds. Thanks.

    I saw your shorts on the Eco Block driveway installs but I could not comment on them for some reason. Anyway, how can I find a trained installer in my area for an Eco Block driveway? Thank you for all you do and have a happy 4th of July!

    Yeah really lost me on this one. Foundations are made of concrete, not pavers? Total newbie so correct me but I'm just looking at it. There is rebar and mesh in concrete. Never knew pavers were more expensive as well. Are pavers made of something different than concrete?

    • @lovemittenmama3197
      @lovemittenmama3197 3 года назад

      Pavers are easier to repair and replace due to smaller surface area.

    Don’t forget about sealer to prevent the weeds and promote aesthetics

    • @CreeksideOutdoorLiving
      @CreeksideOutdoorLiving  3 года назад

      Actually sealer doesn't directly prevent weeds - the polymeric sand in between paver joints does. Sealer can help secure that sand though!

    Some things can be debated, but the looks are not one of them. Pavers don't right just create an amazing effect. Concrete screams "builder grade".

    Can the pavers be installed over a stable but cracked concrete patio? Patio was tiled but cracking caused tile to pop. Do you offer really thin pavers so as to not have a thickness interfering with vents and such? Located in central Indiana.

    • @CreeksideOutdoorLiving
      @CreeksideOutdoorLiving  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Kim! Pavers can be installed over a cracked concrete patio. We typically install a little base limestone on top it for leveling. There are certain pavers offered that are much thinner than typical pavers - around 7/8". If the vents you're talking about are in the concrete, adapters and extensions can be utilized to bring those up to grade, regardless of paver depth.

    Hello, thanks for a great video. We live in queens N.Y. and was wondering do you recommend gravel/rca base or concrete base for my paver job for backyard. I’m concerned for sinking problem in the future, longevity and the least problem for the future

  • @Lenser
    @Lenser 4 года назад +1

    My issue with pavers is the polymeric sand between the joins allows water through it and can be an issue in certain situations. Any materials can be used between pavers joins that is waterproof?

    • @antomano5623
      @antomano5623 3 года назад

      Just use regular sand or dirt. Because like you said that stuff does break off a lot and all the sections of the pavers have to be re-done. It isn't cheap to put the polymeric either as he made it sound.

    I have a nice big yard with space on the side too. The side yard it's just sitting there looking boring..I want to use that space too..the side yard has a slope which iam thinking of removing or adding dirt to level. After that iam gonna lay down concrete to use that space too. However, now iam debating between gravel and concrete for the side yard space ( 15ft from house to fence and 60ft long.)...my only concern is gravel getting stuck under shoes and bringing it into the house...I have very nice plank vinyl flooring.. we won't be taking shoes off to go into house.

    Properly reinforced concrete will last decades without cracking. You should answer Kim's question.

    • @CreeksideOutdoorLiving
      @CreeksideOutdoorLiving  5 лет назад +4

      Yet it WILL crack, whereas a paver never will. I have seen the most reinforced concrete fail on multiple occasions in areas with high freeze-thaw frequencies. You're right, the more depth poured in a concrete, the more rebar, etc, the longer it will last. But 99% of concrete patio and driveway projects in our area are NOT built to last.

    • @CreeksideOutdoorLiving
      @CreeksideOutdoorLiving  3 года назад +1

      The most cost effective will not be the cheapest block - you want to use something that will last a long time and won't require you to rip it out because it's crumbling later. Use Unilock or Techo-Bloc

      Hi sorry I have seen it over and over pavers suck!! They leach white after a few years not a natural product!!! I have seen many concrete pads 15 years plus no issues every 3 years reseal looks great and new. 25 a square foot pavers???Stamped 12 to 16!!! IF you have a good base last forever. Class A with 6 inches compacted un beatable!! Want me to send you pics of 5 year old pavers compared to 5 of concrete. How much to come back and reset??? You never mention this???Sorry not sold on pavers!! Concrete all the way . Obviously you promote pavers and you are not a concrete guy. Your video shows this bias!!! DO you really think a concrete slab cut in 10 by 10 foot sections with fiber mesh is going to move more than a 10" by 10" paver. It s all about the base and if they are equal concrete wins every time sorry. Thanks for the video and trying to convince.

    TUDaH RBaH (thank you very much, in Hebrew). // SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah Asher Hayah, as what He told Moshah (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). ...for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Hayah (Romans 3:23). The wages for sin is death but the gift of ALaHYM is Everlasting Life through Messiah Yahushgh our Master (Romans 6:23). That if you confess with your mouth the Master Yahushgh and believe in your heart that ALaHYM raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). He Himself is an Atoning Offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world (1 John 2:2).
