The Father of all album is Green Day's final album to be released by Reprise Records as the band confirmed that they had fulfilled their contract with the label.
Good review, little disappointed one of my 2nd favourite song by them didn’t even make the top 5 of 1,039 (road to acceptance), but overall great review
Green Day sounds like the misfits tried to play The Who Most pop punk bands sound like if the misfits played abba As I see it Green Day is NOT pop punk. They sound more like classic rock with a punk rock sheen. At least that’s my take
Caxx The Misfits? The legendary New Jersey horror/hardcore punk band with Glenn Danzig singing about killing people? Them trying to play The Who sounds like Green Day? I have so many questions
I really enjoy the trilogy, every single song on uno is high energy and exciting. Love it, Dos is the worst of the three. But still has some good material. And tre is cool, all have good songs
Oh my god thank you so much for giving Insomniac the credit it deserves. I almost like the album more than dookie (almost) because of songs like Panic Song which like you said i never hear people talk about so it's so refreshing to finally hear someone give it some praise.
Actually I love all their discography, except for Father Of All...(I like Sugar Youth and Meet Me On The Roof), although there are surely some highs and lows
I always really liked the trilogy, I think it's definitely better than 39/smooth and the trilogy doesn't deserve all the hate it gets I think. Dos I think is the best out of the three.
I honestly love all of green days discography. 21st century breakdown is where they peaked imo, and I also agree the trilogy is their worst work, but I still really like songs off the trilogy and father of all is a fun album too (also completely unrelated but I dont agree with green day being pop-punk. I've heard alot of pop-punk music and green day is way more punk)
My personal ranking of the albums (including Shenanigans): 14: Father Of All Motherfuckers (1/10) 13: ¡Uno! (2/10) 12: ¡Dos! (3.5/10) 11: Revolution Radio (4.5/10) 10: Warning (6/10) 9: 39/Smooth (6/10) 8: American Idiot (I’m not sorry) (7.5/10) 7: Shenanigans (8/10) 6: ¡Tre! (8.5/10) 5: 21st Century Breakdown (8.5/10) 4: Nimrod (9.5/10) 3: Dookie (10/10) 2: Insomniac (10/10) 1: Kerplunk! (10/10) Father Of All is almost unforgivable. The title track has decent instrumentation and Sugar Youth is a passable song and that’s it. Uno and Dos are pretty bad too. I like RevRad, But there’s a lot of forgettable tracks and outright bad ones too. Warning isn’t really that bad, But I don’t find myself coming back to it very often. I find American Idiot incredibly overrated but mainly because I’ve burnt out every song on the album for myself. Shenanigans is pretty damn good. Not many complaints there. Tre is a pretty damn solid album with songs like 8th Avenue Serenade, X-Kid, Dirty Rotten Bastards etc. 21st Century Breakdown is pretty kickass, But it’s a bit too long and there is filler to be found. I’m also pretty pissed American Eulogy didn’t end the album. Nimrod is the same case. Dookie and Insomniac are pretty interchangeable and both are damn near flawless leaving Kerplunk as one of my favorite albums of all time. Sorry for the rant, But I’m also pretty scared of the new one coming out next year. I really love this band and they were the band that got me into music. Anyways, Great video man! I’ve watched it once every few months for the past few years and I wanted to make my own thoughts clear though not exactly needed. Thank you to anyone who actually read this whole thing lol
I used to work at this toy store, and one of the worst aspects of working there was probably the fact that good riddance was played I wanna say about everyday and every 30 minutes. I am now sick of this song, which is sad because it is a genuinely gorgeous piece. It just gets played too much.
Trilogy, specially Uno was actually good not bad, won't agree on that. Put overall Trilogy was really something really shocking at its worst coming from a big Green Day fan. Still love Green Day obviously for life, and Revolution Radio do make them back to form.
Hey, have you given Demolicious a try? It's basically just demos of the Uno, Dos, Tré songs. Many people prefer them to the actual studio albums, you might too
In may opinion, I think that insomniac, nimrod, and warning are really underated compared to the two giants of good albums know as Dookie, and my personal favorite album, American idiot
1: Nimrod 2: Dookie 3: Warning 4: Insomniac 5: American Idiot 6: Revolution Radio 7: Kerplunk 8: 39/Smooth 9: 21st Century Breakdown 10: DOS! 11: UNO! 12: Father Of All… 13: TRE! The first five, I love every single song on that album. The first two GD albums and Rev Rad are good listens. 21st Century Breakdown is a little bloated. The trilogy, I don’t hate. I think there are some nice songs through every one of them, but there still are some meh and dull songs. Father Of All is a little lazy, but the first half is ok. Plus, Graffitia is good.
Goddamn dude I totally agree with you on American Idiot not being a political story. The beauty of it is that it's specific and cohesive enough to feel like it has a plot, yet subtle and abstract enough to be able to put yourself in it at times. I love the Jesus/Jimmy dichotomy and the reveal that Jimmy was a persona and not a person. Great shit. I found this album when it came out, and just finished listening to it from front to back again, and it doesn't matter how many post rock, shoegaze, or revival punk holes I fall down, this record will always feel near perfect to me. I agreed with pretty much every point you made in this video, spot on.
IMO Uno is everything you said it was. I think Dos, however, is better than Tre. F*** Time is terrible and so is Nightlife, but apart from that I think Dos is a really solid record. I suppose my least favorite track here apart from the MAJOR two blunders here is Ashley, and even that's pretty decent. And Wow! That's Loud is EXTREMELY overlooked. Just my opinion, nothing against you.
I think the reason why people hate the Trilogy is because nowerdays, nobody can take the sound of 60´s rock ´n´ roll anymore. It is a very old-fashioned Sound, that very fiew bands can pull off nowerdays. To me, the Trilogy celebrates Sex, Drugs and Rock ´n´roll in the best way possible. Go to a dirty party (maybe a fancy dress party) in a small, sweaty location, get fuckin wasted, possibly pop some pills. Let the DJ Play 60´s rock´n´roll like the Kinks or so. Mix in 1/3 of Green Day´s Songs from Uno Dos and Tre throughout the night and you will love the Trilogy.
Again, I get it it is your opinion, but my least favorite song from this album is extraordinary girl, but that's because it really doesn't stand out for me but, it is still pretty good
Ok that's true, everyone has their own opinion on that, I am happy that i can discuss with someone that has a clear poin-of-view instead of some dudes that just hate shit for no reason.
I was laughing at your expression, when UNO came and at last you were begging REVRAD to be better than trilogy and it was good yeah. But were you aware that Father of all.....was on it's way lmao
When I first discovered Green Day through my friends I bought American idiot, and I said i didn’t like Jesus of suburbia because it was too long. Man I was an idiot
Dookie and Nimrod are GREAT, the rest is good, not one album is bad like you said. American Idiot is overrated but contains two of the greatest songs ever recorderded; Jesus of Suburbia and Give Me Novacaine. Tré is the worst of the trilogy though... but better than Revolution Radio (because it's the most overproduced AND has the worst songwriting).
Very opinionated. You clearly feel your opinion is the only one that is worthy of being listened to. And you don't understand this band at all may I add.
Warning grew to be one of my favorite Green Day albums.
Jeffery Jones honestly. Super underrated but all the songs are amazing
I cant believe The Grouch is your least favorite song on Nimrod haha It's SO good imo
I agree. Green Day's the Grouch is excellent.
thats my favorite on Nimrod
Ik,I also love it
Dirty Dave Hill my least favorite is Haushinka
@@antboyttt509 i think its ok
Nimrod is my favourite album hitchin a ride's bass is a masterpiece and is one of my all time favourite songs
The Father of all album is Green Day's final album to be released by Reprise Records as the band confirmed that they had fulfilled their contract with the label.
21st century breakdown, discovery and nimrod are my favourite albums of all time
Good review, little disappointed one of my 2nd favourite song by them didn’t even make the top 5 of 1,039 (road to acceptance), but overall great review
i think green day is one big story of how this kid (in the first album) grows up to start a revolution. all the events leading to revrad
thats an interesting concept
Fantastic video

they're melodic hardcore tho
Andrew Vallée
They’re phycdelic death metal tho

I like how you didn't even bother ranking Uno and Dos😂 For real though the trilogy broke my heart a little.
I really enjoy the trilogy, every single song on uno is high energy and exciting. Love it, Dos is the worst of the three. But still has some good material. And tre is cool, all have good songs
Guess who just found a new favorite channel
And I gotta disagree with you on the thing that Dookie is their best album

I feel like they kind of fell off during Trilogy era but came back HARD with Rev Radio.

There’s a lot of good stuff on the trilogy. It’s criminally underrated. Is it great? No? Garbage? Also no

This man ranks No Pride as the worst song from insomniac. You just ruined my day.
