- What a wild ride this thing is. I attended the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Future Collector Car Show (FCCS) in Scottsdale, Arizona and met Eric who owns this crazy custom 2004 TSX with a later-model J-Series V6 engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. Thanks for the test-drive, Eric! Here is a link to Eric's RUclips channel: / @brockwayengineering7240 And here is a link to the Barrett-Jackson livestream of the Future Collectibles Symposium: • Riding the Wave: Colle...

This is out of body hearing that engine in a 1G TSX! But, I sure do love it!!
I know!
Amazing. It looks like it came from the factory. What a phenomenal swap. Super clean build. So subtle but custom at the same time. Thanks for bringing this to the channel.
Glad you like it!
Of course he’s an engineer.
They always get the most fine tuned builds.
That's for sure
This TSX is what modern hot rodding is about. Not just ls swaps but customizing subtle, great looking, powerful and fun driving vehicles that owners are proud to own and drive.
I agree! Well said
Amazing clean build. Interior looks fresh from the factory with no scratches and everything is still matte. I also love the red cluster conversion.
Yes the red cluster is a nice touch!
For anyone who doesn't know, this tsx is what You would call "Oem Plus"
Agreed
Very clean with the OEM enhancements throughout the car! Enjoyed hearing that J37 induction sounds past 5k rpm (as a former owner of J37 TL). 😁
Couldn't agree more!
Kudos to Eric, wow just incredible. Thanks for sharing it with us!
You bet!
Keep up the great work, Tyson! Your amazing vids inspired me to keep my 06 TSX with 440,000km running!
That's awesome! Keep on going
Super clean looking build. I love the exhaust sound. He did a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing this.
Definitely, glad you enjoyed!
That exhaust note is amazing! I need my CL-6 to sound like that.
He has done a great job with it
Looking forward to seeing the footage of the panel discussion… but let’s talk about that TSX! Wow… such a sleeper build. You know, in all the time I’ve watched your videos, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you that speechless before. I think the most impressive part of the drive was how quickly and effortlessly the engine pushed through the rev range. I’ve owned several J-series Honda products, and I’ve never seen a motor jump up in revs so quickly - when you hit the throttle, I blinked and the car was pushing the redline. Absolutely epic car. Thanks for sharing this!!
You bet! Glad you enjoyed
the euro r exterior bits are a nice touch on top of an incredible build. would love to see you cover a sh-awd 6mt 4th gen tl if you haven't already!
That would be cool, I haven't done that yet!
What a beautiful build! Hats off to him for keeping it so clean
Agreed
Thanks for showing us around the show! That TSX is just stunning! Bummed I couldn't make it this year, but next year for sure!
Looking forward to it!
Oh wow! That’s insane! I love the Euro R look on the pre-facelift TSX
Definitely
OMG TSX FTW! Such an awesome build. Thorough but subtle.
Agreed!
Thank you for posting this! I really wanted to go, but at least I can experience a bit now.
Definitely! You bet
This car is awesome! I was smiling watching this video
Glad you enjoyed!
That TSX looks and sounds amazing the only thing I don’t like is the wing I think it look better stock wingless.
Thanks for watching!
Ive been thinking of a j35 into my Cm2 and now you just made me want yo do it..damn this is gorgeous
Dooo it!
Hahaha will do,
How the tsx should've came from the factory excellent build must be a dream to drive
Definitely
Wow what a beautiful tsx, well done.
Agreed!
Perhaps a follow up episode on this TSX? Really nice.
I’d be curious if there was something in the particular spec of the 3.7L from the ‘10 RL that he favored. He stated it was the best.
Definitely, I will have to collect some questions and follow up with him
The 09-12 RL engine is a J37A2, that and the J37A4 in the 09-14 TL SH-AWD have VTEC on intake AND exhaust, despite being SOHC designs. I think this enabled Honda to go a bit hotter with the cams. These two J-series variants make really good power when you open up the exhaust.
The 09-10 J37A2 was the only engine in the 3.7 line up that didn’t have the oil consumption recall 😎
Tyler and Hoovie. 👍 That must have been so much fun to drive that TSX. Wow.
Always good to run into Tyler
@@TysonHugie yeah he looked real happy to see ya
That J series sounds great!! What a sleeper
Agreed!
That is awesome 👌
Agreed!
Yes sir Tsx lifestyle
Absolutely
As much as I love the k24a2, the tsx was definitely underpowered from the factory. I have a v6 em1 and the torque from that even is great. I bet it suits the tsx chassis very well.
Thanks!
shifts like butter🔥🔥🔥. I wish I could swap my 4th gen 3.5 to a manual.
Sounds like a fun project!

I hated arctic blue for years but now as I’m getting closer to the age demographic that bought it new I really dig it.
OEM motors and fan blades. The man made it work.
That steering wheel is perfect.
Well said
He crafted his own version of TSX Type S.
That's a good way to put it
Never understood swapping in JDM steering wheels. No cruise control. Good if track only I guess. Swapped my 99 Prelude one with an AP1 wheel and retained everything.
I didn't think about that
Not the end of the world, IMO. If he wanted, I'm sure he could utilize the RSX steering wheel rear cover body and switch assembly.
Having never been to a Barrett Jackson auction, I can now see how it can be an economic barometer. Also, the Christine re-creation certainly had a gruesome looking blood red
interior!
One of my fave movies
i need to know more about this mans exhaust setup
Sounds great!
16:45 *When VTEC kicks in, yo!*
Haha for sure
Such a sweet sounding and looking TSX. HA Sport just did a J35 swap 😎
I need to post a video tour of their shop sometime with Q&A on some of their fave projects
That TSX is pretty sweet!!
Definitely a unique build!
So jealous, I want this swap on my 04!
Dooooo it!
@@TysonHugie I don't have a lift or a shop full of tools. Where you at? I will bring a lot of money and beer.
The HOA would SHIT the BED if they saw a cherry picker in the driveway lol
edit: looks like AZ, I'm originally from Flagstaff, live in Reno now, I am on my way!
Do i need to swap a J37 to my CL-S 6 now? lol that sounded so perfect and the power!!
Yes!
sick oem+ build, I wanna J swap mine too!
Pretty sweet
Is that a euro R dash with the RED LED lighting very nice
Looks great whatever it is!
How did you get your dash lights and radio lights red?
You’ll have to contact him. Think the bulbs can be changed.
What the TSX Type-R could have been.
True!
Great build on that TSX. Subtle but not I think describes it well.
Agreed!
Well, there's another jswap on my list
Haha definitely
Who does that kind of swap to fit my tsx
This is a custom build
What’s the story behind this TSX? Is a Canada or Mexico model? It’s got no TCS, sunroof, cruise control, cluster and climate control are all different.
It's very custom
The guy explained everything in the video lol
I'll tell you the story. I'm the original owner of the car and ordered it like that back in '03. I don't like sunroofs because I'm 6'4" and you lose about 2-3" of headroom with one. I wouldn't be able to comfortably fit otherwise. This was my daily driver for 7 years, I sold it to Eric and it was pristine. Glad to see what he's done with it and that he took care of it. Loved everything about the car except lack of power from the K24. He has clearly addressed that!
Very tasteful mods. Strong engine Everything looks great but that spoiler tho… 🙄
I don't mind it, it's a Mugen part which is high-end stuff. The overall build is just impressive to say the least! Good to hear from you!
“Well; I’m an engineer”…. Typical arrogant engineer response. The work looks amazing though; still arrogant.
Haha, I can't blame him!
I wanna see him “engineer” his way out of that wheel-spin and that torque-steer outta his car…😅
I agree. It was an arrogant response. Embarrassing that it was captured on video.
@brockeayengineering7240 - My grandfather was an airplane mechanic in the army during the the Second World War and my father was also a great mechanic and they were both naturally tinkers; but unfortunately they were never “intelligent” enough to be in school and they never had the money for a proper education; but they were amazing engine builders and designers. Me unfortunately didn’t inherit any of that gift.
I miss my grandfather and my father.
